I don't really think it would work well as a cartoon, honestly it was pretty close to invader zim in tone of just weird dark stuff for a laugh happening that is only really semi serial in nature since half of the stuff that happens doesn't really matter for the wider plot but that's not why you read it even in the first place as I said.
The half serial half episodic formula works alright in the 2000s comic but I don't see it happening in a TV series as well without making people who aren't already fans mad as shit
mark grayson is neutral evil and the comic series ended up being monarchist propaganda. allen and dinosaurus are the only truly benevolent characters that care about others
At a guess, general super hero burn out. Although, putting Invincible on the same scale as Good Omens is a guaranteed loss. Good Omens 2 just isn't good. Terry Pratchett has been dead for years, was suffering from a neurodegenerative disease before that and Gaiman hasn't written anything of note in a long time and it shows.
There was at least one very successful movie based on a marvel character in all but three years since 1998; 1999, 2001 and 2020. >Hurr durr by my magic metrics all movies I don't like are failures
Okey dokey artichokey take a break from the chicken chokey
>Good Omens 2 j
I enjoyed it. The first season was a very faithful adaptation but it was particularly enjoyable seeing the show find its own voice and become its own thing. In fact, while I wouldn't say I preferred to the book I do think I preferred to the first season.
For me it's
Book > S2 > S1
The first season really didn't get the kids right for me, and never nailed Pterry's humour
Second season was carried by Gaiman's characters-show-up-in-historical-events schtick he's been doing since Sandman so there was nothing disappointing about it for me
im waiting until the whole season is out. im conditioned to watching cliffhanger shows like this at my own pace. if its light hearted, comedy or i cant avoid spoilers i watch it weekly. also twitter polls are so god damn fricking moronic metrics. because everyyyyyone constantly checks amazons fricking twitter for the latest 5 hour poll.
I don't think the wait between Close Enough seasons was that long unless you mean the time it took from the teaser trailer to the premiere being over 2 years IIRC.
>dissapear for 2.5 years >act surprised people don't care anymore
The longest people can wait is 1,5-2 years, they lose interest rather quickly. That's why Simpsons come out every single year and Rick and Morty takes around the same time, plus minus half a year
arcane is an exception to the rule
its on too many peoples all time lists to ever truly leave public consciousness
invincible on the other hand is just another gorey evil superman story, its not on anyones all time list even if they do like it and if it gets completely cut and dumped it would be replaced in short order
3 years of radio silence can't be fixed with one teaser. Everyone that really cared got spoiled already on everything that happens in the story by now. And it was just not that interesting
You are right. Omniman is the only liked character period and season 2 will probably have a lot less of him or have him evolve into a different kind of character.
i'm impatient for season 2 so i skimmed the comic to see when omniman returns. it's issue 25/26.
are they going to rework the story to include him sooner? kirkman is a bad writer that stumbled into gold with omniman's character. without omniman actively present, invincible is a bad story.
Im gonna say because it was thoroughly unmemorable. The comics are great, dont get me wrong, but literally the only things Ive seen come from the show are the memes with Omniman and how much everyone hates Amber.
Maybe it's a personal issue but just too long of a wait between seasons, like a few other shows. If 6-10 episodes is the new season standard seasons should al least come out quickly and efficiently, for all series. The excuses are gone but they've kept the same work ethic.
>We will never get an I hate Fairyland cartoon
I don't give a frick about Fairyland.
I want Manhattan Projects cartoon. With Multiple Oppenheimers, sassy Laika and Einstein with chainsaw

>Chew never got a animated series
So close
So fricking close
Should've just went to fricking teletoon or YTV. I'm sure canada would fund a comic book show.
>Kid friendly Chew
How would that even work?
Also it has to be called Chew Kids Meal
Only affects articficial flavors and Plants.
Sad
mark grayson is neutral evil and the comic series ended up being monarchist propaganda. allen and dinosaurus are the only truly benevolent characters that care about others
Dinosaurus did nothing wrong
Robot is a monster

>super hero burn out.
I swear it's been like 10 years of people saying that.
There was at least one very successful movie based on a marvel character in all but three years since 1998; 1999, 2001 and 2020.
>Hurr durr by my magic metrics all movies I don't like are failures
Okey dokey artichokey take a break from the chicken chokey
Good Omens 2 was comfy as frick. You're moronic if you were expecting Pratchett in a sequel when he's been fricking dead for almost a decade.
You frickers have been burnt out for years, just say you hate superhero shit.
>Good Omens 2 j

They already blew their load on the main draw of the story: evil Superman beats up his son.
This + All the stuff people want to see, ie the Viltrumites, is a long way off still

I NEED to beat my meat to the rape scene
I will give you the answer in the form of a puzzle, it's something it has in common with the shows in pic related
Not op but unironically literally no idea
Meta Humor?
Overreliance on self-aware humor?
Long wait time between newer seasons?
ding ding ding
I don't think the wait between Close Enough seasons was that long unless you mean the time it took from the teaser trailer to the premiere being over 2 years IIRC.
Yeah the wait in general is the problem
Good Omens S1 wasn't that popular, it's about capitalizing on hype and momentum
>Good Omens S1 wasn't that popular, it's about capitalizing on hype and momentum
it was their second most watched show that year kek
so does this only apply to cartoons? because again, Good Omens s1 was released 2019. It's been 4 years.
>dissapear for 2.5 years
>act surprised people don't care anymore
The longest people can wait is 1,5-2 years, they lose interest rather quickly. That's why Simpsons come out every single year and Rick and Morty takes around the same time, plus minus half a year
>The longest people can wait is 1,5-2 years,
And yet the winner of the poll (Gay Homos) last aired episodes in 2019. At least be consistent anon
>Trusting Twitter in the first place
Nice try
moving the goalposts now i see
NTA but trusting Twitter should result in a ban.
arcane is an exception to the rule
its on too many peoples all time lists to ever truly leave public consciousness
invincible on the other hand is just another gorey evil superman story, its not on anyones all time list even if they do like it and if it gets completely cut and dumped it would be replaced in short order
It also helps that Arcane's source material is League of Legends, one of the most popular games ever.
>Good Omens
Literally who?
Good Omens season 2 just came out. If Invincible came out last week it probably would have won.
they just need to show the rape scenes from the comic, most women have hidden rape fantasies and the show would be a big hit
That panel is like 100 issues into the Comic, they could do it season 4-5 at the earliest.
They could always have more rape scenes. They have some creative liberties with the show after all. If anyone complains call it foreshadowing.
3 years of radio silence can't be fixed with one teaser. Everyone that really cared got spoiled already on everything that happens in the story by now. And it was just not that interesting
they've already shown the best part of the story its all down hill from here
should i bother reading the comic?
Taking a long break when comic book fans have an attention span of a gnat. Why do you think the MCU releases a new movie/show evey few months
>Why do you think the MCU releases a new movie/show evey few months
didnt the viewership get lower and lower with every new show?
The wait.
Season 2 is going to flop. Omniman is only liked because of memes, not people watching the show.
You could say the same about Homelander but The Boys is doing better than ever
You are right. Omniman is the only liked character period and season 2 will probably have a lot less of him or have him evolve into a different kind of character.
The first part was the best part.
Omniman left. No one cares about Mark.
i'm impatient for season 2 so i skimmed the comic to see when omniman returns. it's issue 25/26.
are they going to rework the story to include him sooner? kirkman is a bad writer that stumbled into gold with omniman's character. without omniman actively present, invincible is a bad story.
only just saw this comment, but yea this.
what issue did the show end on?
last episode was 11+12+13.
Im gonna say because it was thoroughly unmemorable. The comics are great, dont get me wrong, but literally the only things Ive seen come from the show are the memes with Omniman and how much everyone hates Amber.
Everything past when Omniman leaves sucks.
This show was never popular. Just an online meme. Ask any random casual on the street about this show and they wouldn't even know it existed.
Maybe it's a personal issue but just too long of a wait between seasons, like a few other shows. If 6-10 episodes is the new season standard seasons should al least come out quickly and efficiently, for all series. The excuses are gone but they've kept the same work ethic.
