Bit of a disingenuous argument, no? Literally anyone can use a gun, but only select people get/are born with superpowers.

The central being made is that the Right to Self Defense is inherent, whether you defend your person with a rifle, a length of pipe, 2 days of boxing classes at the YMCA or the ability to talk to rats and order them to attack muggers. You have the right to defend yourself with the means you have available to you. Sometimes that involves kinetic blasts.

My point is that they were two-faced c**ts that ditched it only because it wasn't as politically feasible as it once was, which is why Reed's comment about being consistent was a bunch of horseshit considering they did the exact opposite for the longest time, especially in the context of the time when that comic was written.

According to most of the states that seceded, it came down to the right to Leave the Union if it exceeded its mandate and authority, but that doesn't make for a very good low-effort tik-tok video.

            Yes, slavery existed.
Yes, it was a bad thing.
But its only brought up in the context of the civil war because it serves as retroactive justification for the side that won. 'Great Emancipator' Lincoln didn't give a frick about the slaves beyond their usefulness as a political bargaining chip.
I don't agree with Canada's euthanasia policies but I'm also not calling for the invasion and occupation of Canada.

The foundation was always slavery. A bunch of self-styled nobles were worried about their economic yum being yucked and whipped up a bunch of easily-led morons to start a war that they lost, and kept crying about losing for a long fricking time.

Let me repeat that, the Confederacy started a war because a bunch of elites were worried about their bread being potentially snatched from them. I don't give a frick what Lincoln used to rationalize the continued war effort on his end, the Confederacy started it, lost, then the losers kept bringing up a string cope as to why they *really* started the war to muddy things up to make them come off as the actual victims.

The foundation of almost every country is, in some way, oppression. Last people to give up their slaves were the Navajos but I'm willing to bet you simp for the "Poor oppressed Natives". You are 100% right about the Confederate Elites being disingenuous shitweasels who hid behind the rights of men to continue violating the same, just be careful not to look too closely at the makeup of that group when you're posting on tumblr.
Then again, I'm trying to discuss history with someone who said
              >Yum getting Yucked
In regards to economic upheaval, so no matter how stupid you are, I'm much, much stupider to continue the conversation.

Grow a thicker skin, b***hbreasts. Just don't try to rationalize the motives and simp for a failed state that ran on a shitty pretense like "states rights" when it was never the case.

The NRA has long been criticized as a milquetoast organization more concerned with a middle of the road opinion that actually protecting rights. Within the context of the panel the NRA would be taking a stance informed by comparisons to firearms that aligns with their overall aim.

As for the other part, it doesn't fricking jive that Confederates would align themselves with an ethnocentric foreign power whose ideology is opposed to their social structure, would actively harm their economic base, and whose political system did not align. I'm not saying the CSA was great or anything, but you're talking about two different and opposed political, ideological, and cultural systems. I get it, the Wolfenstein setpiece was funny but in the real world the KKK is very nativist and anti-foreigner and the Nazis either too control of or killed off any competing ideology groups, including other Nazis.

What modern day social issues would you like to see in the X-men comics Cinemaphile?

I would like to see Human Genoshans come back as an analog to right-wing weekend warrior militias because they had cool mecha designs. You can even add a gun running element and make it into a Punisher crossover.
I think it's time to revisit the mutant cure, but instead of a gay erasure story, make it a trans analogy about mutants who turn into humans and meeting resistance from both sides.
Definitely time to make a token pro-human mutant villain, like what they were doing for years with Beast, but with none of the heroic baggage of being Beast.

CotV are Krakoa if they were honest.

If you're bring back Genosha you need to play into the fact that for all the hubbub about them being evil their forced replacement immediately launched a brutal civil war and carried out a near total ethnic cleansing before trying to wage a war of conquest then failed to stop everyone on the island from getting massacred.

The point is that a bigot can have whatever dumbass beliefs they want, but when it comes to making it come to fruition, or making motions to make it come to fruition, is the difference. If just Magneto sat somewhere grumbling about stinky inferior humans and didn't try to genocide humanity, that's fine, it's when he went about trying to foment a race war to do so is when he fricked up.
