it's funny because of the anachronism of medieval serfs, whom didn't have the time or inclination to wankoff over the kind of bullshit political theory that TPTB had already started distracting the plebs with by the time the monty python troupe got high and filmed their home movies for the bbc, doing exactly that, and then drawing the skit out far past the point where the joke had been made. also he shouts a line at the end which fits nicely on a tshirt or in a small .wav file.

The movie's just about how actions in one's lifetime affect other lives in the future. They have details carry over from prior generations that end up influencing the lives of the cast, which are also implied to be reincarnations.

          Anonymous

Yes, that much is obvious. The real question is... why though? Why such convoluted bullshit just to make such a shallow and ultimately meaningless point? It means nothing. It's just an empty movie that tricked itself into thinking was profound, and midwits agreed.

IQ is not a real thing, but a made up concept by israelites. You are either attentive and can retain information or you're not. There are plenty of factors that play into this as well, such as how well rested you are, how much energy you have, what you have eaten, how in shape you are, etc. To say one person is "too stupid" to understand a concept is incorrect, they are either unwilling or too lazy

I am talking about people without disabilities or mental moronation. Obviously if you are lobotomized in a car accident your mental capacity is probably somewhat impaired.

          >they are either unwilling or too lazy
those are both physical contraints ie neurological. some people have a neurotransmitter phenotype that inhibits their ability to think in abstracts making it impossible for them to understand some concepts. you surely have felt at some point unable to comprehend things and been forced to come back to learning later, some people are permanently in that state

          >neurotransmitter phenotype
          Qrd?

          >you surely have felt at some point unable to comprehend things and been forced to come back to learning later, some people are permanently in that state

yes I have, but if I feel that it is worth my time I will thoroughly try to understand it. I have learned coding, mathematics, chemistry etc. through sheer willpower. In high school I was a lazy loser homosexual who wasted a lot of time and was not engaged. But post graduation I felt the need to improve my knowledge on certain topics so I did. Anyone can do this if they are determined and not a moron. That is my point

            Anonymous

            >Anyone can do this if they are determined and not a moron. That is my point
that's just your brain giving you egoist hubristic sentiments.
            phenotype
            >Qrd?
there are a variety of neurotransmitters we can vaguely divide into inhibitory and excitatory they are produced and metabolized in circadian rhythm but within genetically determined ranges (that vary a bit over lifetime). when I say phenotype I refer to the typical ratio within the person, if I were to give you a huge amount of glutamate it would make you unable to learn things and some people have genes that cause that to happen by default.

Also consider that african languages lack abstract concepts until they were colonized, cpt etc.

When Interstellar was released it was slightly controversial, people didn't like that the film becomes "unrealistic" criticised by Neil deGrasse Tyson types, however its a film not a science text book, and the thematic elements at the end work perfectly and bring the film to an emotional conclusion.

I asked one of the supposed geniuses a question and he couldn't answer it so the truth is there are no intelligent people here. It was as simple as
      >why did you reply to that guy
and he couldn't say so I think he realised he's a fricking idiot.

The only correct answer. Who’s to say what intelligent people get out of watching anything. They could be watching highbrow art because they like highbrow art or they could be watching trash because it’s provoking them to think of something abstract.

        >What is there to enjoy in Titanic as a high IQ person?

It's the best example of stagecraft in the history of the world on the verisimilitude of the ballroom scene alone. Real people made that out of real shit as closely as possible to the original at enormous cost. Earlier epics like Cleopatra approach or even exceed this evocation of the past at scale but fail as movies, with sprawling, intricate plots that go nowhere and then stop. Titanic borrows their grand scale but confines nearly all of the drama to 3 people with a neat 3 act structure with coda. Chekov couldn't have done it better.

    Tron Legacy

At first it seems like a dumb action movie. The directing is not very good. But on a second viewing there is a lot of clever writing built in that I didnt notice the first time through.

I think the entire thing was an analogy for Flynn as Jesus Christ. He is the maker, and sacrificed himself for his son, who became more important to him than the world he made.

This is a great example of the director not understanding the writer.

      This. For smoothbrains it's
      >wow, tyler durden is literally me!

For midwits, like Ebert and Rosie O'Donnell
      >omg, this movie LITERALLY promotes fascism

For galaxy-brained kino enjoyers, it's an excellent portrayal of how cults draw in recruits but the ultimate folly of actually falling into this ideology.

The alpha Chad everyone loves to idealise is the imaginary friend of an incel who can't deal with the fact that he wants to frick Marla. He claims society is robbing then of freedom but then makes followers dress the same, repeat mindless slogans and give up their names. The whole movie is a bait and switch but everyone seems to just take the bait and ignore the switch.

          Anonymous

marla is more real than tyler because marla was created by his subconscious before tyler and therefor is on a deeper level of his mind.
marla remained in his mind after he killed tyler.
he created marla because he was lonely but he was such a loser even in his mind that he couldn't even imagine himself being with a girl he created
so he had to create tyler to do it for him
then he had tyler help him become just like tyler, and then when he realised he didnt want to be like tyler and he just wanted to be himself, he had reached a point where he didnt need tyler anymore so he killed him which allowed himself to be with marla without his own insecurities interfering.

Definitely. It's realistic enough to appeal to intelligent people, but still provides the excitement that a gangster movie should have so you also have the "dang that's gangsta" crowd that would be equally happy with Scarface
