I’m tossing back and forth on whether I should get on fin. I’m balding but I don’t want to frick up my hormones or get ED. I feel like just shaving would be a better option. I don’t have the greatest head of all time but I feel like it wouldn’t look bad without hair.

my hair has actually gotten so much worse since I got on it plus it totally fricks with your cum
I don't know if it's critical but irreversible but the viscosity is fricked, most of it is just water then a little bit is so firm you can pick it up
I'm only like 4 months in, I'll give it to the end of the box but if I don't have a full head of hair I'm quitting

There's supposed to be a significant shedding period with it and minoxidil, isn't there?

          I guess so
I've got mindoxil too and that shit is so annoying to use, it just oils up the hair and make the balds spots (it used to be singular spot) more visible, I'm thinking of getting a buzzer and just get used to being bald while I wait to see if this snake oil shit works

my derm, who works in the 8th biggest city in the us, said he has never had a patient report ED due to fin and the only regularly told side effects were depression

this is true, there's like this profound sense of sadness that has haunted me ever since I got on it, it's weird, you can feel it in your shoulders, like they're weighed down. also I'm a lot more "aware" of my prostate than before I got on finestaride, I can feel where in my body that is.

Both of them legitimately work. The percentage of people that stop and/or regrow using them is indisputable. What seems to differ person to person is how well you respond to it and much hair you'll actually regrow along with if you experience side effects.

        Celebs, most.

Half the dose, .5mg a day is only 10% less effective and obviously less side effects.
Also if you stop your seamen will return to normal, you also shouldn't assume there isn't sperm still suspended in the clear fluid.

          Anonymous

Yea, the study you are referencing actually shows there are diminishing returns above 0.2mg. So It may even be worth trying to split a 1mg pill into 4 pieces. That same study shows that even a 0.05mg dose is quite effective.
It's too bad pharma are still only selling 1mg and 5mg doses, especially given the pretty significant side-effects some men experience.

Ashton Kutcher gave me the confidence to try it. It's a gay admission but I appreciate it.

That other guy is likely lying or is one of the very few people who have problems.
What's the risk? If you hate it, stop taking it.
The first few days, maybe week, I "felt" hormonal changes I think. I was more prone to anger and my sex drive felt schizophrenic. I figured for that time I wasn't going to get good results, but soon I felt pretty normal again and my hair was growing. Weirdly, only in the center of where I was balding in the back. I had bald lines that looked like some moronic racing stripes but I filled that in easily with minoxidil.
My dick works fine, I feel fine, and now I have more hair. Honestly, I think getting drinking collagen daily has nicer results because your skin will look better in addition to thickening up your hair. There's no downsides to trying that since it's just protein, it's cheap at Costco and goes on sale often.

There's supposed to be a significant shedding period with it and minoxidil, isn't there?

Yeah rubbing your failing hairs twice a day is likely to help them fall out of your head. Keep at it, though, and eventually more grow in their place and the shedding stops. Just power through.

Bouncing back and forth (the latter), versus my normal "just kind of horny all the time."
Again, it was under a week until I flattened back out. It's once again tied to how often I crank my nub, just like the good ol' days.

Same. My hairline hasn't receded much, if at all, since high school but I'm starting to notice a lot of thinning, especially near the crown.

Going down the celebrity hair transplant rabbit hole was a huge mindfrick. There's so, so many you would never suspect.

Even fricking Walton Goggins got a hair transplant around season 2 of The Shield to maintain his iconic hillbilly hairline

Has anyone tried the oral finasteride+minoxidil? What were results like? I want to do both but I don't like the idea of spraying my hair daily.

      Anonymous

I use oral fin and nothing else. Hair has actually regrown significantly to the point that I no longer want a transplant.

Also use minoxidil on beard and yeah I would not want to be on this the rest of my life. It's way less convenient and leaves dandruff flakes.

Start with fin alone since it could well be enough.

No. It doesn't work as well for everyone so you might just not respond to it. I started at 24 and I've heard it is more likely to cause regrowth in younger people but not sure how true that is.

Are you consistently using 1mg oral?

So many people say they're on it but are either using low doses, topical or forgetting periods.

There doesn't seem to be a great deal of consistency between age or level of baldness prior to starting determining how much regrowth you will get. It does seem like a fair crapshoot. You have some dudes that are almost Costanza that are then sporting basically a full head of hair six months later and other guys that are a bit sparse on top who became a little bit thicker. I guess like everything it comes down to genetics.

Finasteride makes you depressed and kills your sex drive. Why as a celebrity would you take it when you can afford a hair transplant?

What percentage of celebrities are on it?

Exactly. Wouldn't most of them have hair transplants?

Also, celebs would get transplants at private clinics in NY and LA but aren't hair transplants fairly affordable in Turkey? Not even dodgy ones, ones done by internationally accredited doctors?

        Anonymous

        >but aren't hair transplants fairly affordable in Turkey?
Yes, hence why "going to Turkey" is a common euphemism for that procedure in the Norwood community.

        Anonymous

If you want it done by the best surgeons in the world: EU/US: $20-30k. Turkey: $10k. If you want it done by a team of specialized nurses in those clinics but under the supervision of the famous surgeon, you can cut those prices in half

Something about turks being obsessed with hair. They've been deep into hair transplant shit since like the 80s or 90s and a lot of turk surgeons have basically been the driving force of innovation in then field

Your non-transplanted hair would continue to fall, and you have a limited amount of donor folicles. You need transplant+finasteride.

To my understanding most of the genes for balding come from the X chromosome, but there are some in the Y. And my older brother has already started balding so I expect the same to happen to me.
