That's not even the most infurating one -from king of the hill.- you're forgetting about the time everyone thought Hank was racist because of his dog, and trusted an online test over his word.
But the one that always gets me is Gravity Falls when they shit on dipper for accepting phone numbers from more than one stranger at a time. obviously instant monogamy is the only acceptable way to flirt!

ehh it's more of a midwestern thing. earlier KotH wouldn't have done that.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you. The cops in Hank's bully not only physically threaten him over a petty neighbor dispute but take it a step further in humiliating him by having him go and retrieve the bike when Caleb or his parents could have gotten it themselves. The onlookers at the vet and their holier than thou glaring at Hank was sickening but it wasn't the worst treatment Hank's ever gotten and his coworkers didn't come across as harsh as they're usually pretty chill people in general with the exception of Donna in that Facebook episode.

            >"Jon Vitti Presents: Return to La Grunta" is the 51st episode of King of the Hill. It was first aired on February 23, 1999.

            >Hank convinces her to apply for the drink girl position at the hotel. Luanne lands the job, and soon discovers that lascivious, drunken golfers tip young females rather generously. Luanne is so pleased with her new job that she determines to buy her uncle a thank-you gift...That evening, Luanne presents Hanks with a large, gift-wrapped box. Inside is a card for Dolphin Encounter, which allows the recipient to swim in the hotel pool with a live dolphin...Supervised by a trainer, Hank climbs into the swimming pool occupied by the dolphin Duke. At first, Hank enjoys his encounter with the playful Duke. He strokes Duke's stomach, which blushes pink. Shortly thereafter, Duke attacks Hank, and then drags him underwater.

Hank is pulled from the pool. The hotel director explains that Hank's display of affection aroused Duke and the marine creature attempted to become physically intimate with him.

The gravity falls thing is weird because in the real world it's not even that big of a deal. It jarring to see because you know someone did to well I dunno vent or something. It's weird.

Movies and comics too. It's all trauma dumps or using fictional characters as a punching bag. And it's never subtle either.

that one pissed me off too, and they spun it as a metaphor for guys flirting with golf course drink girls. like this guy is such a horrible man for giving luanne attention, at a job she literally got because she's hot. yeah that's totally the same as rape.

              > you're forgetting about the time everyone thought Hank was racist because of his dog,

They were trying to compare it to adult womanizers who lie and sleep with multiple women.
But it was a 12 year old boy trying to gain confidence talking to girls his age during a road trip.

Yeah but even then how is it the womanizers fault if women have sex on the first date? See this is the issue with people they never take accountability for their stupidity.

Everyone says the episode feels like a S1 episode dropped at the end of S2, but it really feels more like the halfway point of a cut Dipper/Candy subplot.

        (OP)

I hate Tilly Hill. I hate the episode where she has sex on Hank's kitchen table when he's home, and then chastises him for being a prude, and then he just has to learn to get over it like she didn't disrespect himself, his wife, and son.

Remember that one time Hank tried to use a computer for something beyond work documents, and enjoy playing a game, only for Peggy to emasculate him and say she never wanted to marry a Gamer?

        You win.

That Christmas one was a b***h and stupid

        >Neighborhood shame Hank for not letting a fricking stranger invade his home to die in it
        >Hank points out how its crazy and how would they handle it if they were in his shoes?
        >Everyone still gives him shit
        >"Okay fine."
        >Let's her in during party
        >Oh now suddenly everyone in attendance is skeeved out by it

        This one is close.

The gravity falls thing is weird because in the real world it's not even that big of a deal. It jarring to see because you know someone did to well I dunno vent or something. It's weird.

The point isn't to depict the real world. The point is to show kids how they believe the world should work.

A lot of KotH's humor comes from Hank's rigid, old-school ideas of the world inherited from Cotton grinding against the realities of modern life.

It was mocking NIMBY attitudes. People were shaming Hank to try and sound virtuous, but as soon as THEY had to deal with it it became a problem. It's better than people give it credit for.
