I dunno why Methuselah or Enoch never got any movies on their own, their epics and feats are the most interesting part of the old testament, instead we barely get mentions of them, people only know Methuselah because he was super old and Enoch because he was taken by God, not by all the cool shit they did like battling ordes of demons or going to hell and coming back.
Why would Smith post this? He reads comics. He's written comics. He knows the story of Cap wielding Mjolnir has happened in the comics several times since 1998.
Hundred of years from now, no one will give any shit about comics. They’ll be one off sentence in a 2nd graders history lesson.
But in general, films will be looked on as classical works of the 20th and 21st century and the crowing achievement of our era’s creativity and imagination.
90 years later and almost nobody remembers It Happened One Night, Top Hat, or San Francisco, despite being three of the most successful films of the 30s. Everyone remembers Wizard of Oz because in addition to having the same financial success it is also a timelessly appealing movie. The MCU films were a contemporary cultural phenomenon, but one which will only be a historical footnote a century from now.

That sounds like some Fallout "We found a 200 year old stash of comics and built a religion around it because we thought they were sacred texts" tribe.
>Kevin Smith became a skinny atheist vegan(Yes. Kevin smith said you can’t be a true atheist unless you are vegan) >Far less mentally stable, talented, and well-adjusted than when he was a fat Catholic
Will Kevin Smith be funny again if he gets fat and returns to the church?
You can't expect the people writing these movies to watch these movies. If Thor didn't need the hammer for his powers he wouldn't have to get the axe and then Rocket couldn't give him his new eye.
That's stupid. The reason everyone takes the piss out of Scientology's mythology is for how obviously it's based on 60's pulp scifi novels. No one's gonna take a religion based on superhero movies any more seriously.
>What the frick happened?
Movie series are fundamentally a dumb idea that ends in burnout if you give them a fitting cutoff date.
Books, games, and TV shows can get into minutia about characters' lives and get you invested in them on a personal level so you'll always feel like you're getting something out of your time with them, but movies fundamentally work on climaxes and you can only climax so many fricking times in a row before you begin to feel like something's wrong. People just get rubbed wrong by constant climaxes. A climax might get you out to see a character for a night, but if that's all they're offering, you aren't necessarily going to want to come back for more when there's no personal connection with the characters. Climaxes alone can't just be all there is to a long term relationship with characters.
When will someone start the Bible Cinematic Universe?
Probably what they were trying with that Noah movie
No one knows what they were trying with the Noah movie. Not even the people making it.
It's called kino. Not that complicated.
That bullshit didn't work for DC, Dark Universe, or Bright it ain't working here.
It's not working for marvel either.

They should adapt the episode of Lot's daughters
Guy holds a hammer, big deal. Jarvis did it too.
>You now remember that if Whedon were still in control Black Widow would have lifted Thor's hammer in Endgame
Capeshit has always been a gateway to demonic neopaganism and the occult
Were your parents related before they got married?
End game was a massive down step from Infinity war. I don't know why anyone would watch it a second time
This. Endgame was the movie you watched once out of a need for completionism and then never touched again.

Smith knows this.
Weird statement to make considering not a single comic book movie has improved on the source comics.
Ahem
Pic unrelated? Joker especially was garbage.
They get awards, your rags get nothing.
What does that have to do with quality?
It's called merit. It's what pulp picture books from the 40s won't ever have.
What does that have to do with quality?
The Oscars give awards to Frozen and Suicide Squad. They mean nothing.
>What do accolades for excellence have to do with quality?
Are you a DC fan? 'Cause you're dumb as shit,
Both movies shit on mcu.
When did I talk about the MCU?
Most of them did. Comic books are pointless.
Name one. (You need to have read the comic too)
All Raimi's Spider-Man.
You've never read Ditko and Romita, have you?

No he's right. In fact I'm late for my meeting at the church of his royal slyness
The MCU is not films.
>in the future people would start worshiping Thor and Loki as Gods
that's stupid
This. So. Fr*cking. Much.
That sounds like some Fallout "We found a 200 year old stash of comics and built a religion around it because we thought they were sacred texts" tribe.

I'll never forgive Seth Rogen for what he did to this poor man.
>(Yes. Kevin smith said you can’t be a true atheist unless you are vegan)
Who is going to punish you if you aren't?
Reminder that Cap wielding the Mjolnir is a plot-hole. Thor Ragnarok said the hammer's powers were just placebo for Thor.
You can't expect the people writing these movies to watch these movies. If Thor didn't need the hammer for his powers he wouldn't have to get the axe and then Rocket couldn't give him his new eye.
The MCU is a pool of plot-holes and inconsistencies. It was never good, but only now people are realizing it.
>It was never good
Well that's a lie.
I really loved the first Thor movie. Wish they’d kept the same vibe. I miss Shakespearean Thor.
Dark World could have been great with tweaks.
It’s funny because Loki in his show is more tragic than ever and better liked than ever.
Meanwhile Thor went full moron in Love and Thunder and everyone hates it
I mean Odin had to wear an eyepatch because he lost his eye. I don’t think their powers ever let them regenerate
He didn't lose an eye, he gave it up. Are capeshitters really like this?
The MCU? You mean The Modern Day Iliad?

Why hasn't anyone made a religion from any movie 100 years ago?
Jedi is recognized as a religion
have you ever heard about Scientology?
