Marvel making two of its most intelligent characters look like morons, the irony is that Baron Mordo called Reed Richards the smartest man in the universe before he went full moron.
he wasn't even prepared or used any weapons against her. he was just going to stretch towards her for some reason
also why would black bolt's mouth being sealed make the waves destroy his brain? wouldn't it be more likely to tear his mouth out, since that's where the sounds are directed anyway?
Would have been way better if they quickly realized how dangerous Wanda actually was, released America, led Strange to the book of Visanti, then told him to frick off and warned him to never return to their universe.
Or just go out his nose. You know, like what happens when you scream with your mouth closed.
>a cataclysmic stream of energy jets out of his nostrils >Black Bolt rockets off, piercing straight through the roof and out into the sky >a twinkle of light as he vanished into the distance
>The Smartest Man alive >Powerful witch infiltrates your base >Rather than having your most powerful member use his ability, you just straight up tell her what his ability is so she knows to delete his mouth and kill him first >Well, there's our most powerful member dead >Guess I'll stretchy punch her.
>leave the wizard behind when fighting a magic enemy >don't bring Xavier who at the very least can tie her up in psychic fight long enough for someone else to kill
They couldn't have handled it any worse.
>innocent posessed woman enters into your base and you try to talk her possesor down and threaten her with how futile it is to fight since Blackagar got the most OP shit power to exist only to learn her powers literally bend reality wich youd Wanda couldnt
FTFY
The really stupid thing is the fact he has other powers like being as physically strong as the thing, or that the fork on his head can shoot lasers lol he could have still killed her
That universe's group were clearly sitting on their laurels and prideful/arrogant as hell. It was clearly intended to be an intimidation tactic that backfired. I don't get how people still read it the way they do. Their Wanda barely even seemed to have any powers.
the outrage over the Black Bolt scene is so freaking misplaced. anybody slightly familiar with the character saw this coming from 500 miles away. Black Bolt has never done anything cool in cross-over stories. he exists purely to fail in an silly or embarrassing manner.
you are not slightly familiar with the character. his only purpose outside of dedicated books is to be easily beaten to clumsily show the audience how cool or strong another character is. thats why his appearance is also alatys accompanied by an introduction >HELLO CHARACTER (audience) >THIS MAN HERE IS BLACK BOLT >YOU MAY NOT HAVE EVER HEARD ABOUT HIM BUT WHOO BOY YOU JUST TRUST ME >This guy is STRONG! >oh man!

That's like the biggest mistake a psychic can make, all it means is that they've created a direct line to themselves and the entity, and they sure as frick aren't winning that fight.
Also, Xavier isn't the most powerful telepath.

Yeah, Professor X makes sense for the Illuminati but if they wanted someone powerful enough to mind rape Wanda they'd have Jean Grey

It's not about being powerful enough to attack, it's about not being a good idea to enter the mind that an extradimensional entity like Chthon has called dibs over.

Was he depowered or something here? Because even in diamond form, he could easily break Emma apart by backhanding her.
My point is that someone that punches around with Hulk and Thing wouldn't have even felt Emma's most heartfelt karate chop, even to his throat, he could tear both of them apart barehanded if he wanted.

Emma randomly gets super strength because dumb writers think her diamond form works like Colossus metal form. That being said it didn't look that strong. Between that her acting like Black Bolt couldn't attack just because he couldn't talk. I'm pretty sure the writer just pretended he didn't have any other powers including super strength/durability

Most people forget Black bolt's voice isn't a sonic scream or power blast but literally disrupting the atoms of anything it touches.
You know, as we see Dazzler absorbing his power despite it not being fricking sound.

Not even that, it's the fact that he went straight for his voice, rather than going right to manhandling them since they, if the writer wasn't a hack, couldn't do dick against him in hand-to-hand. Black Bolt's voice used to be when shit escalated, not something he'd use so casually in a fight against two b***hes with no superhuman strength, but using his voice was apparently the only way the writer could asspull a win against him.
[...]
Isn't Black Bolts voice not even sound but more like an energy wave? It's just modulated by the volume of his voice.
Yes, it's matter manipulation, it's just that speech is what modulates it into a destructive force, it's not sonic.

Everyone hated the IvX event especially X-men fans moron, stop talking out your ass.
Not him, but I'm only familiar with him from events and crossovers and he seems to exist solely to to job. Except that time he put Apocalypse in his shoes.
It looks like Black Bolt, a superhero that destroys things with the sound of his voice, having his mouth removed so his power backfired inside his head.
That isn't how sound works. When you speak and hear yourself, most of what you hear is conducted through your bones. That's why you sound different to yourself versus to others/on a recording, etc.
Even if she removed his mouth, his body/bones/brain have been experiencing those waves since he first made noise. If not, he would be dead.
The worst that should've happened it he becomes powerless or, maybe, he rips apart the new skin covering his mouth. And then kills her.
>That's why you sound different to yourself versus to others/on a recording, etc.
You're telling me I don't sound like Marvin Gaye for other people? I always wondered why nobody ever mentions it.
Also, head exploding 'cause backfired powers is way more fun to show, cinematographic speaking

Arguing about a man with armpit wings and a tuning fork on his head
Yeah doesn't make sense to me, wouldn't it just tear open the flesh where his mouth used to be, or did she make it magically strong face flesh or something.
It's more of a rock paper scissors thing. Dazzler turns sound into light, Black Bolt creates sound, so she can just throw his attacks right back at him.
She has a counter to one of his moves. It wouldn't do much for her back in the day when he almost never used his voice but for like the last eight years he pretty much only uses his voice.

>first appearance in the MCU of Black Bolt, Xavier and Reed fricking Richards >write them like morons and kill them off like fodder
I pray to allah Disney and the moronic consoomers burn to death
And the thing is, now you can't bring in that actor for Black Bolt or Reed Richards now (I assume Patrick Stewart's 100% done now), because they're forever tarnished as the losers who jobbed hard.
The only way to erase that stain is to recast them which is easy because of multiverse reasons but so much for those fancasts.
I mean, it's not impossible. The variants of Strange, Peggy, and Mordo were played by the same actors, so they could bring the same actors for Reed and Black Bolt back. But yeah, goddamn what an awful first impression.
Well you see anon, this techinically true but won't hold up because of how comic book writing works. In the marvel hand book way back in either the late 70s or early 80s they describe Black Bolt's powers as "quasi sonic" and listed a bunch electron shit to explain what is really going on. That Quasi simply means like something but not actually it. This was done to explain why he can't talk. Under normal circumstance Black Bolt would need to speak normally to talk but from the start kirby had any use of his voice be destructive without giving a reason why. But since its Quasi athat gives artist free reign to draw it like sound waves and writers free reign write it like sound attacks because it is sound like. It does go both ways so you occasionally get stuff like Black Bolt using his powers in space.
tldr: They tried to explain his powers but didn't put any set rules when they did it
>Black Bolt was established as an underdog weirdo with a tuning fork on his head >got a cool scene where he performs the execution of Doctor Strange with a mere "I'm sorry" >said scene caught all normies off guard because of the introduction >got the coolest death
Expectations subverted done right, now he has new fans asking for his return.
Why do morons keep acting like Mr Fantastic isn't the kinda guy to attempt warnings?
He's literally best known for beating Galactus by literally standing next to the ultimate nullifier until the guy surrendered.

No. Your nasal passages are connected to your throat, so most likely the sound waves would just shoot out of his nose.
>a cataclysmic stream of energy jets out of his nostrils
>Black Bolt rockets off, piercing straight through the roof and out into the sky
>a twinkle of light as he vanished into the distance
