But Ken was dissatisfied with patriarchy in the real world because he needed qualifications. He wouldn't have gone back to Barbieland otherwise.

He wasn't even really satisfied with the patriarchy he set up in Barbieland, he was just tired of being Barbie's accessory and wanted literally anything else to define himself with. Patriarchy naturally appealed to him cause it made him feel important. But really any smidgen of self-actualization would've done the same thing, it's just that the feminist utopia of Barbieland didn't care at all about male self-actualization, so they all latched onto the first alternative presented to them.

Don’t try to understand woman-thoughts. The lesbian who made the film couldn’t even see her own mixed messaging.

Look at this guy giving credit to a woman.
You definitely over analyzed this and came to a conclusion that no woman ever would have arrived at. It's simply a case of "a broken clock is right two times a day".

They would literally demand they do what they did with best picture noms and expand the number so "no-one gets left out" (only in the feilds where they personally have a dog in the race, and only for that year).

It was not a stretch for Margot Robbie to play a pretty blonde every-woman.

Being the lead character in a good film doesn't automatically qualify you for an Oscar nomination, it is the effort you have to put in to make it believable.

Look at Anne Hathaway in Les Miserables:

    ?si=ufZ9n72icrEs6X3O
THAT is how you win a best actress Oscar.

Did Robbie do anything like that with the role, no. She wasn't actually given the chance to in any-case because the Barbie movie is not the type of film where you can. So its not her or the Academy's fault she is not nominated, there was nothing for her to reach the level required.

Picrel is of another actress who was snubbed in the noms this year, should have been given the nod for Renfield.

  37. 4 months ago

or... maybe... the other actresses this year wete stronger performances than the actors and Ken only got the nod because the men had a weaker showing than the women this year in acting

Fact is that Robbie was nothing special in the movie, she is okay actress and I like her, but no way in hell is she awards actress.

You guys are so easily tricked. No one in the industry actually cares about the Oscars, It's just a tool to sell more physical media/digital rentals post theatre release, people campaign and pay for these. But for this movie a fake controversy for tards to rally around is more effective, I can see all them now lining up to buy the barbie blu-ray to stick it to the PATRIARCHY
