There's nothing ethically or morally confusing about that. It's put in there for the girls in the audience who wouldn't get why a man would go after someone who betrayed him and got his friend killed. Waingro's sadism ruins or disrupts multiple lives and Hanna's is one of them. He takes that pain home with him and now his wife and daughter have to deal with it too.
