What the frick went so wrong? The Force Awakenings was a good start and set a good foundation but then it went to utter shit.
How did a franchise like Star Wars, owned by Disney, end up SO incredibly mismanaged?

>The Force Awakenings was a good start and set a good foundation
No.
Yes
Yes. It sucked.
TLJ was the final nail in the coffin
>What the frick went so wrong?
Fans b***hed about TLJ, making Disney to retcon everything in the last movie.
I'm sorry your poorly shot Spaceballs sequel wasn't a smash hit, Rian. At least Netflix overpays you for poorly shot whodunits with a homosexual Daniel Craig now. Congrats.
Don't talk shit about Spaceballs.
You're right. Spaceballs is far better than TLJ.
no one wanted Jake skywalker to die
Tlj could have been the beginning of a reinvented star wars. Sad
>Well, we have this billion dollar thing
>we're not actually not going to plan anything ahead and just go kinda randomly
>???
>not success
Something like that.
The sequels are no worse than the prequels
>The sequels are no worse than the prequels
At least the prequels were planned out and actually had a beginning-middle-end structure. The sequels were more beginning-beginning-finale
Go back to r/prequelmemes
Never even browsed that. You're a tastelet to the Nth degree. Log off.
>prequel apologist
>calling anyone else a tastelet
LOL
go back and stay back
You're defending the sequels. I'd have more respect for someone claiming Attack of the Clones is their favorite movie than you.
>prequel apologist
>trying to defend the prequels
>pretending that they aren't just as bad as the sequels
>pretending pointing that out is defending the sequels
LO
It's a sovl vs no soul situation. You're the latter.
The prequels are bad Revenge of the Sith is mostly a banger but they are one thing the sequels are not. Original. Force Awakens borrowed heavily from New Hope but I gave that a semi-pass because they were trying to get back to basics and wash out the bad taste the prequels left. I figured they were going to use this to lure people in with familiar territory then in the next one, go of on a new story. But they kept lifting shit from the OG films. Last Jedi took way too many story beats from Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi. Rise of Skywalker brought back Palpatine for nostalgia bait. The prequels had their own story involving political intrigue, the fall of a noble order crumbling after years of lethargy, and the tragic corruption of a once noble chosen one. These are all great ideas, they were just executed horribly.
>prequels are original
roflcopter
the sequels are no worse than the prequels because they're equally shit. cope and seethe more plebbitor
Post your Top 5 movies.
2001
The Thing
Blade Runner
Last Year at Marienbad
Amadeus
>mfw more and more prequeltourists show up on this board
Kek. Peak midwit. Can't tolerate the Prequels' sincerity because of your intellectual insecurities?
The prequels are unironically worse than rebel moon. Let that sink in. You call others midwit for appreciating kino when you like the most juvenile slop imaginable because you grew up on r/prequelmemes.
sad!
Okay bro, we were willing to accept the shitposting just to shit on the sequels again but this is too insultingly obvious. Step up your game please.
i'm being serious. the prequels are insufferable. you're a tourist who seethes whenever that fact is repeated
Pro tip, the next time someone calls you out for shitposting during a debate like this use something like:
>"So everyone who disagrees with you is a shitposter? Just what I expected from a prequelgay
Also use more slurs and less buzzwords like seethe
I never cared for memes much. Not into the sloppy paint aesthetics so common there. And no, the prequels are better than Rebel Moon, which doesn't mean Rebel Moon is bad (it's not, just slightly undercooked).
You're not appreciating kino, you're reveling in pretty images you don't understand. You have zero grasp on what you're watching.
>You're not appreciating kino, you're reveling in pretty images you don't understand. You have zero grasp on what you're watching.
coming from a prequelgay this has to be bait
>n-no u
You've been found out, midwit. Your superficial way of watching movies is fraudulent and your opinion dismissed. Again, find a different interest.
>prequels worse than rebel moon
>prequels are worse than the discount snyder cut of 40k
If nothing else, you are an extremely dedicated moron.
But they are, which is why you have to elevate those shitty movies by comparing, when prequelsuckers celebrate they aren't you. It's very clear which one is worse just based on behavior.
>roflcopter
Did you just learn that the internet is larger than tumblr, or something?
You are still defending the sequels by pretending they're good enough to be compared to the worst of the prequels let lone the worst of the pointless extended material relating to the prequels. Your opinion is just shit.
Find a different interest. Movies aren't for you.
>prequel apologists
>telling anyone else movies aren't for them
>claiming that movies made solely for selling action figures and toys have soul
LMAO
Yes. Movies aren't for you. You lack both education and taste to evaluate them properly.
Only an ugly person would say that.
That's not praise, though. They're still bad and a near-total misfire.
>The Force Awakenings was a good start and set a good foundation but then it went to utter shit.
Movie is completely void of anything. Most uninteresting flick I've ever had the displeasure to watch.
>The Force Awakenings was a good
frick TFA for having Leia hug Rey instead of Chewbacca after Han's death.
The Force Awakens was not a good start. It didn't establish anything.
theres like hundreds of videos in youtube about the sequels
tfa was trash too, but functional as a movie for most part. i dont understand how they have multiple movies in a triology with no story, plot, notes or any connective tissue or plan of any kind and just let people do whatever they want and shit on one another from movie to movie at expense of story, characters, plot, and destroy a billion dollar franchise. can only be seen as deliberate as no one was fired, blamed or ostracized for such a collosal failure.
The Last Jedi was fundamentally not a starwars movie (and had some hyper cringe parts like with the asian) and fricked up the whole trilogy.
>Force Awakenings was a good start and set a good foundation
nah
i dropped it right there
> was a good start and set a good foundation
why is this repeate verbatim every day, every week? its bot posting right? but why, it's not like it sells tickets to the trilogy
He could've say "No, I won't play in this abomination!"
He could've save entire Luke's legacy by one simple refusal.
But he never did.
He's a libtard has-been.
>this fact
Your delusion more like.
He's a b***h, his costar Ford loves pedophiles, and he also signed the Israeli plea. He absolutely did it on purpose then pretended to cry like the Snoylent drinking monkey he is just to try and salvage his image. Frick him I hope he genuinely feels the emotion he pretends he's capable of in that image one day.
Unlikeable Mary Sue as main protagonist... literally only leftists find her interesting.
>The Force Awakenings was a good start
A good start to what? Daisey "Oim actin', now let me show off my giant chompahs!" Ridley?
>The prequels are kino
>posts soibois who react to the sequels and capeshit
You look just like them, maybe fatter.
>You look just like them, maybe fatter.
>no u
Kek. Just admit it. You practically already did.
>Kek. Just admit it. You practically already did.
>The Force Awakenings was a good start
it was fricking dogshit, frick off
Reminder all nu wars is homosexual shit.
>The Force Awakenings was a good start and set a good foundation
have a nice day moron
It's Christmas, anon. Be magnanimous.
>The Force Awakenings was a good start and set a good foundation
The Force Awakens was so bad that I never even watched Last Jedi or Rise of Skywalker. None of the new characters were interesting, and for some reason they went out of their way to reset the original trilogy's heroes. Han and Chewie are low-life smugglers on the run from crime bosses again, Leia is an exile rebel leader again, Luke is just hiding on some backwater Outer Rim planet again.
Don't forget.
>Empire's back but it's called First Order
>New Death Star
>Resistance once again lead by Leia
>Droid with information on the run
They went the safe route of making a soft remake of A New Hope.
>They went the safe route of making a soft remake of A New Hope.
No but you see that was the GENIUS of it! JJ abrams says in the commentary that they knew they were doing this! See the fact that they KNEW they were rehashing something makes it great! Here order up a heavy IPA and i'll explain it to you for 3 hours why it's great!
if israelite israelite had gotten t do the whole series I am not saying it would have been a masterpiece but it probably would have been pretty decent Roundhead Johnson must have thought he was Amber Heard because he just came straight and took a shit in Lucas films bed and you cant really blame JJ for the last one being shit. Instead f making the movie/series he wanted to make he had to scoop the shit out of fhe bed and try to transmutate it into caviar
>The Force Awakenings was a good start
False. TFA is what went wrong.
Expanded Universe aside, people wanted to see a new jedi order, a new republic, and some sort of new dynamic. The decision to reset the power dynamics and general mood of the galaxy right back to where it was at the start of ANH was the end.
TLJ raped the corpse don't get me wrong, but TFA killed it.
Also no Daisy tummy shot? Why did they even cast her?
many tv shows have succeeded after a weak pilot but they require writers to step up and save them
>people wanted to see a new jedi order, a new republic, and some sort of new dynamic. The decision to reset the power dynamics and general mood of the galaxy right back to where it was at the start of ANH was the end.
this
>The Force Awakenings was a good start and set a good foundation
If you think this you are part of the problem.
I never liked TFA, for one thing the idea that Han and Leia's relationship fell apart and their son (who is also ass ugly and looks nothing like them) somehow turned into evil space Hitler was really forced and weird. I honestly think bringing the original cast back was a mistake, it helped put butts in theater seats for sure, but if they wanted to do a sequel with them it should have happened at least 20 years ago.
Sad behavior.
>Gets btfo
>y-youre le sad!!
haha
>moronic uber liberal feminist woman called the shots
thats what went wrong
>The Force Awakenings was a good start
The Force Awakens was a horrible foundation. It undid everything that happened in the OT and set us up for two more movies of rebels vs the empire. It also denied us our last chance to see the original heroes on screen together.
>The Force Awakenings was a good start and set a good foundation
No
>What the frick went so wrong?
unironically the israelites
Even if these movies were technically good they wouldn't be worth watching. Star Wars was a one time thing and the only reason the prequels live on is because they were so fricking wacky you can't ignore them. So they could either rehash the OT or go the wacky route. Obviously Disney isn't going to do anything creative because they have a tit that hasn't been sucked dry. So what's the point? How many trilogies are we gonna have where you have le cute robot and the kid with special powers that can fly spaceships? it's dead
