It's all about cool stunts, fights and music who gives a shit that they made sequels or that the setting is unrealistic? Who the frick cares if something isn't a gritty action thriller these days?
>cool stunts
Name a single cool stunt in John Wick 4 >cool fights
The fights get worse with every sequel. John Wick 4 reached the point where extras just stand there and wait to get hit now. That's how shit the choreography is. >cool music
John Wick 1 had really cool music. None of the others do.
I mean just look at how gay this stuff is. This guy is the main villain of John Wick 4 and everywhere he goes, these guys are just standing around the scene. They're just arranged there like they're knickknacks. It's a 13-year-old boy's idea of what would be totally cool and badass.
I never envy people like you. And not even in that “I don’t envy that cool guy that has to bear all the burden and do all the work” kinda way. No I mean in that “what a fricking dumbass” kinda way.
It's really not that hard to take something for what it is in film. That's all people mean by "turn your brain off," it's a polite way of saying stop being autistic and applying real world logic to a false reality. Each film has its own universe and establishes what's considered possible and they don't break it.
You nailed it exactly. They went for an intentionally spiritual/mythological feel of an underworld where everyone lives beyond the normal world, to the point that mortals barely even comprehend it exists.
You mean what went right? 2 and 3 were definitely worse than 1 but the last one ended things on a high note.
And by high note I mean it did what a martial arts movie is supposed to do. It was never anything more than that.
1 and 2 were fine but things went moron in 3 and 4.
>John cuts off finger for Elder of the order and pledges fealty to server until death to remove excommunicado >um actually I changed my mind lol, I'm with Winston now
>two films building up a showdown between John Wick and the twelve secret elites that rule the underground world. >get cold feet in the final film and wrap it up with some comedy relief villain
Someone played assassins creed and basically stole the whole hashashin lore and then they scrapped it and decided to make a 3 hour long movie for no reason.
John Wick might be the most overrated film I've ever seen. It's a generic revenge film with the gimmick of MUH DEAD DOGGO. It does have nice action scenes, but that's honestly it. I have no idea how it spawned a franchise. I'd rather watch a random straight to video 80's/early 90's action film, because at least some of those have actual soul.
What does my comment even have to do with the gun work? I said the action scenes were nice. And Keanu is apparently really good at target practice irl.
>I have no idea how it spawned a franchise
The lore basically. They established an entire society of assassins that works in conjunction with the real world without making it a major part of the main plotline. Not to mention they established that in this society the main character is so strong he's reached legend status. It's like watching a shitty 80s action only with great shots and the villains know the MC has plot armor. The revenge story is just the call to action and to humanize the MC. Why would you not want to see a sequel of that?

1 is good all the way through until the final car chase/fight but it ends well after that.
I like pretty much all of 2.
3's opening is fantastic, the middle is awfully boring and every scene after the hotel gets raided is fantastic.
4 is fine. It has some very good moments and lots of uninteresting ones. I think it focuses too much on other characters, all the fights are good.
If I had to rank them
2>1>3=4
I get liking 4 more than 1 (especially if you're a fan of the films of John Woo and Ernesto Diaz Espinoza). Casting Zaror as the heavy was perfect. Like 2 more than 1 is curious to me but maybe i need to marathon them again.

Why didn't Winston mention to John that challenging a high table member to a duel and winning is a way to get the high table to leave him alone before John Wick 4? He could've just done that shit in John wick 2
I don't think it's that bad. But I never understood the praise it got. This is not a universe that can carry a series let alone a spin-off film and tv series. It was a basic paper thin action movie. It's like if they suddenly decided to make DRIVE into a universe with sequels and a tv show.
The first movie wrapping up perfectly and then they decided to make more anyway

FPBP
Sometimes I envy people with this ability.

It's called stop being autistic about everything
Just pretend it's a videogame with a shitty story and you:re just watching the cutscenes
you sound super fricking annoying
Same thing that happened to The Matrix
they lost control of their world building.
You were born a rusanglogermcuck and you desperately want to be seen as a European but in reality will always be an Asian migrant.
Just turn your brain off and watch the fight scene kino
Nothing, each one was better than the one before it.
Anyone else got the vibe that Wick universe could easily be part of some World of Darkness universe with vampires and werewolfs?
No moron. It’s part of Assassin’s Creed
You nailed it exactly. They went for an intentionally spiritual/mythological feel of an underworld where everyone lives beyond the normal world, to the point that mortals barely even comprehend it exists.
it's literally so moronic that only moronic homosexuals think its good
it's not that deep
>OMG WHAT IF A GUY WORE A SUIT AND DID BAD ACTION SEQUENCES

Get rekt ruleshomosexual. John does what he needs to do to survive and enact vengeance on all of them.
Also John Wick 4=1.
became capeshit

You can't steal from AssCreed what AssCreed didn't create. Even Vampire the Masquerade already had an "AssCreed" muslim assassin clan since the 90s.
they made a shitty movie and then 3 more
>Narrator: it didn't

>cut to this character sitting on a bench and drinking beer during the climax
>cut to the epic super cool blind swordsman eating noodles in the middle of a huge brawl where people are dying left and right

The guys never had any reason to accept his challenge until the stinky Frenchman
it was never good to begin with
The dog fight in 3 is the only action scene to stick out to me. Overall I rate it gowatchtheraid/ 10
I couldn't make it passed the first 30 minutes of 1
shit's literally made for ugly morons with 'ADD'
