Around toy story 3, which was completely unneeded. I read that they wouldn't do sequel unless they had a good idea I don't know what good ideas they had for Dorthy or toy story 4 or 3 or cars or university.
That and the introduction of DEI which is obvious with coco, onward, soul and lucas. Dead studio. You are missing even more DEI and spinoff in the chart it just gets worse. Instead of making fun tales with some moralizing it's just now moralizing about sjw shit.
>I read that they wouldn't do sequel unless they had a good idea
Toy Story 3 happened when Disney threatened "we will make Toy Story 3 if you guys don't", hence the uninspired movie.
>What the hell happened?
Up. It cemented the idea that they just have to have some humans be weepy and people will fall over themselves to call it art.
Pixar movies should be about talking appliances and charismatic bugs, not about singing to your Abuelita and what puberty is like as a woman.
Basically.
Up is a brilliant 9 minute short followed by a good but forgettable 1 hour and 20 minutes.
They realized if they made adults tear up for a scene or two critics and audiences would consider the film a 5/5 masterpiece on the level of Citizen Kane
i only found the first 5 of those movies good, with MU also counting. Everything else felt so fricking melodramatic and I don't care for human-based stories.
You probably don't need to watch any others tbh. Although, I would recommend MU a watch as it feels like a natural story sequel and there's enough there of real-life scenarios (college life, etc.) that would be interesting as an adult.
It's not as good as the original but it comes pretty close.
At the very least, watch Incredibles before you die.
Others will pretend otherwise, but the true answer is immediately after Toy Story 3, which itself was their magnum opus.
3 is meh besides the climax and ending. Everything else is pretty shite compared to 1 & 2.
>first row
soul >2nd and 3rd
zoomers coping
Wall-E and Monster's University are decent. Everything else is bad.
Also, 3rd row has soul, not first row. And I don't know about pixar's "zoomers coping" film.
No, also I don't know which anon you are. It would help if you quoted my reply to you so I know who you are and so I can give an accurate response to your claim.
Overall I enjoyed Soul but it has such a mixed message imo. The main reason he was dissatisfied with his life is because he badly wanted to play music as a full time career. He ends up learning that playing music isn’t everything, but clearly he’s happier in life being a musician instead of taking a job as a public school music teacher.
Once Disney acquired Pixar they were able to force them into doing sequels.
Getting rid of John Lasseter
Cope, John Lasseter was the masterind behind C*rs 2 and why Brave turned into such a stinker.
He was also the mind behind everything else before Coco
I wouldn’t say that. Andrew Stanton and Pete Docter are both longtime Pixar guys that really shaped their output.

*Incredibles barely counts as Pixar

Why's that?
I think he means that it’s a Brad Bird movie made inside of Pixar.
Yup.
i only found the first 5 of those movies good, with MU also counting. Everything else felt so fricking melodramatic and I don't care for human-based stories.
Ive only ironically seen the first 5 of those movies and never felt like i needed to watch the others

first day on Cinemaphile bud?

I blame women

Generally agree, but Soul also gets a nod in my book.

>The Good Dinosaur
>Onward
>Soul
>Luca
It's amazing how easy it is to forget these movies exist.
The Good Dinosaur outright stinks, the rest were covid releases. Onward is underrated.
The art style of Luca is so repulsive, they all look like Subway Surfers.
Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2 are worse than Cars 2 because they ruin franchises that actually had integrity. Cars was lame as shit from the start.
Pretty mixed output the entire time.
