What the hell happened? For years, this guy was box office gold, everything he was in made a shitload of money, he seemed to be this beloved pop culture figure and movie star. Then Black Adam flops and it's like he vanishes off the face of the earth. It's not like he had some drama or accusation that killed his reputation, people just suddenly stopped caring about him.

Imagine being brought low by an in-n-out sandwich
>Johnson has not yet issued any comment on his previous social media posts, nor whether he intends to clear the air before his first-ever visit to In-N-Out sometime in 2024.
Kek
He went on JRE and was too scared to give a single opinion that wasn't vetted by his PR team. People have caught on to how fake he's become.
>how fake he's become.
He was always clearly fake, he's a wrestler for fricks sake
this lol. its not the 90s/2000s where you can shout a catchphrase, pose for a magazine photo and dip out.
Hey watch your mouth. Wrestling is predetermined, NOT FAKE.
I was not aware of his fakeness prior to my comments, but now I’ve become educated to his complete narrative.
Learning moment for me.
I don't understand why he's so deathly afraid of showing any kind of personality.
He has frick you money twenty times over.
Someone has something on him, and is milking him.
Because he doesn't want to offend of alienate any of his target demographic (which is everyone).
You wouldn't do that if you're already fantastically wealthy like he is
He likely doesn't even have a personality at all.
I met people like him that work in sales for large corpos. Almost all recruited out of some weird "played college football" stock and they just smile, shake hands, maybe talk about sports a bit, cars, real estate prices and that's it. Nothing else going on in their heads.
Dwayne there seems like the same type of person. Just nothing interesting to say and just going through the motions being as normie as possible.
Played college ball, ya know.
At some cushy Ivy League school.
Try University of Texas. Coulda gone pro if I hadn't joined the Navy. I'm not one of those beltway pansies.
He has political aspirations
If the guy actually is planning to run for President then suddenly everything about his personality makes sense, but as far as I know that was just some random dude on the internet who tried to start a PAC to make him run for president and nothing actually came of it.
>He went on JRE
What did they even talk about? The weather? Or was that too controversial of a topic for The Rock?
I think the masses might have heard about what a big head he got over black adam trying to make it the center of the universe and refusing to be a captain marvel villian
Black Adam in the comics is awesome so in theory the idea that he would get his own movie and tons of screen time is great, if it was executed correctly. Problem is, Rock clearly didn't want to make a movie about Black Adam and instead just wanted to make yet another action movie where he plays the same exact character he always plays.
I can't even tell what his actually personality is supposed to be.
gentle steroid giant
Frick with La Familia, kiss your career goodbye

He used to be a big wrestler but his fans moved on in time.
The Rock was C-list as an actor for years until he found his “thing” and now he does the same thing every movie. In those Jumanji films it’s just him and Kevin Hart doing the same shit they always do.
If he does the same thing again, it’s boring. If he does a new thing, it’ll be off-brand and unsettling. He needs a serious reset moment to bounce back that’s so far removed from what he’s been doing that it becomes part of the marketing, like a serious dramatic role. The thing is that his presence is so abnormal that it’s hard to imagine him as anything but what he has played so far (unlike for example Jim Carrey who could easily transition to dramatic roles because he’s easily believable as a “normal guy”).
>If he does the same thing again, it’s boring. If he does a new thing, it’ll be off-brand and unsettling.
His best roles so far are :
Doom, where he played an evil psycho
Pain and Gain, where he played a roided out murdering simpleton
It's only later that he swerved into whatever "good guy" routine he's trying to push now with diminishing results.
Because he floated the idea of running for President which made everyone roll their eyes so hard the optic nerves sheered in half
Doesn't seem that lucrative. His most successful ones are franchise ensembles.
i can't see that big trouble in china film ever being made.
>Doc Savage
This will require him to be funny. Abort Abort!
That was announced years ago. It's been stuck in development hell for almost 10 years. I don't think it was ever going to happen.
Most of those in-development ones never happen.
>endorsed Biden
>betrayed his own hawaiian people after the disaster
>has 0 personality
>always plays the same role
>constantly lies about his PED use
>constantly lies about his PED use
That's pretty much every actor, so I don't think that factors in to his fall from grace.
He's mistakenly trying to appeal to an audience that doesn't exist.
He thinks that zoomers care about his wrestling career or even want to watch slabheads like him play whole good guys. Nobody under 25 even wants to see this scrotum-headed weirdo in a movie.
And he certainly doesn't have global recognition like Arnie or Sly had in their time.
Delusional but ill intended
You posted this in the right place
