I don't know, I'm sure monster flicks haven't stopped being made they're just not in the zeitgeist the way they were with twilight of TWD were for their respective monsters, so you could probably find a monster that's filled the role in those movies,
We have been in a ghost/possession phase for the last five years or so. I'm sure some sociology wonk could explain why.
may be right, I think they're still making Paranormal activity movies and the ones with the guy who played Nightowl.
aren't we back on vampires, kinda? renfield and last voyage of the demeter were last year as larger releases, pretty sure there were a bunch of vampire B movies as well.
There was a certain kind of millennial kid/guy who seethed way too hard about Twilight, as if it was the first piece of fiction to have hot vampire romance. I mean yeah, it sucked, but it was a story for girls who thought reading books made them unique to self-insert and schlick to the idea of a bunch of hot guys wanting them for no reason. I could probably name half a dozen vampire anime that do the same thing but for teenage boys.

It's nothing to do with the sexy vampires, and everything to do with the fact that, up until that point in time, reading books was seen as something for pathetic losers.
same shit with video games.
same shit with comic books.
weird how shit magically stops being lame the second a woman starts doing it for attention.
It was pretty much a direct ripoff of Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter. In fact if you throw Twilight and True Blood in a blender it's exactly Anita Blake. Also Fifty Shades of Grey was originally Twilight fanfic, which is to say Anita Blake fanfic.
I guess what I'm saying is Laurel Hamilton ruined everything.
Historically, vampires and werewolves were seen as metaphors for puberty.
Young people's bodies are changing and they turn into (sexually) ravenous monsters.
These metaphors don't really hold up in modern society with tik tok and instagram and shit, where everybody posts their ravenous sexual desires 24/7/365 for clout
historically vampires were horrible creatures that attacked people in the night and looked like bloated and rotting corpses. Its only after Bram Stoker shows up that anything other than night time zombies.

they gradually became a wish-fulfillment fantasy. their powers became desireable rather than threatening. the downsides became increasingly inconsequential, especially the whole 'damned' aspect which is irrelevant to a largely areligious audience. they went from being a distinct genre to just another form of capeshit. they got absorbed into the pop culture world and lost their identity.

you deserve more yous
I'm sure there's a As above so below style movie in a pyramid or something where the protags incur the curse of Ra. If there isn't it could easily be made. Problem is most people think mummies are kind of goofy so it's hard to play straight,
the fall of google search is the most baffling thing to me. why would they make it more difficult to find anything at all? i thought youtube was hemmorhaging and they got their revenue from the engine
Women. Women ruined them. Women took "manipulative and seductive" to mean "angsty pretty boy" and now every vampire movie has to have some gay fricking love angle or sympathetic villain instead of them being manipulative demonic monsters. Even the fricking Coppola Dracula adaptation hamfisted in a shitty vampire romance that wasn't in the book at all, and it was basically ruined because of it.
The concept of a small, hidden group of creatures, that are basically the expression of a disease, and then predating on normal people while infecting a select group of them with their disease to increase their numbers was probably just seen as too unrealistic and odd for the average audience member.
Twilight happened. The only people to enjoy that crap are people that like wieners, so it got mocked by everyone else making the vampire stereotype sparkling twink vamps.
Zombies replaced them as the go-to monster, then monster flicks sort of went out of style.
Peaked at IWTV
So what is it now? Are we in an in-between?

Ghosts.

My favorite was the book about Vampire Pirates lmao.
>vampire looking at itself in a mirror
That's only for silver mirrors
Obviously it's a vampire mirror
they became LGBTQ
Twilight, unironically. They stopped being scary.
They never were. The vampire schtick came entirely from "rich people bad, they might frick and kill me for being poor"
>"rich people bad, they might frick and kill me for being poor"
I mean that's pretty scary, yeah.

Please be bait. Either that or you're black.

Vampire movies are an analogy for seduction and eventual adultery.

Vampires absolutely, one hundred percent were not that.
historically vampires were horrible creatures that attacked people in the night and looked like bloated and rotting corpses. Its only after Bram Stoker shows up that anything other than night time zombies.
Vampires are supposed to symbolize disease.
I've realized that my sexual fantasies about vampire women really just mean BPD women. They control you, drain you, hover over you.

How do we save mummies?
Gene therapy for Brendan Frasier so he can keep making mummy movies until the sun burns out.
why does this look so pornographic
because it's porn.
I don’t know what’s going on here. but I like it.
Arrigo Verderosa is the artist

>ayyy imma maek le incels psychologically castrated and easier to manipulate
Nice try, glavset.
unironically take your fricking meds holy hell
take your meds, there was always a sexual element to vampires and horror in general. hell it is surprising there's not more gay vampire stuff as is
>it is surprising there's not more gay vampire stuff as is
Way to prove him right, worm anus.
the lost boys is a gay vampire movie morontroony

Bleh!
>meets a human boy for the first time
>wants to get knocked up immediately
Why are they like this?
What the hell happened to the blood raves, vampbros?
Twilight happened. The only people to enjoy that crap are people that like wieners, so it got mocked by everyone else making the vampire stereotype sparkling twink vamps.
I sat on them. Soooweee!
