He had sight into the extradimensional battle between the forces of good and evil that twin peaks was the vessel for, making him aloof and bizarre in how he interacted with others
No they were involved in UFO research, the happenings in the woods were the result of extradimensional creatures that exert influence on earth from space.
The UFO research led them to the woods because the things people perceive as 'aliens' and 'UFO's are actually spiritual entities related to the Black Lodge.
Same deal as Cooper, a mix of power and decency. Now that I think about it a problem we have irl is that usually decent men don't strive to be powerful and powerful men don't strive to be decent.
>He gave me the creeps >Father says incredibly heartfelt, genuine thing to his son >His son who is more than walking a thin line toward a bad path >His father does not scold him but instead professes what is basically his everlasting fatherly love and goodness toward his son
This is somehow creepy to you. Go frick yourself.
On my first watch I thought Bobby was going to be extremely important after his freakout at the funeral, but then he spends the entire time fricking around on pointless side plots with Shelly.
You can feel the show being dilated in the second season, and it becomes obvious some characters have already "served their purpose" so to speak.
I'll take the Bobby/Shelly hijinks over the James/housewife shit ANY DAY I can't stand James crybaby zoolander face.
Still, not many shows to scratch the itch Twin Peaks does
For me, I think it's when the characters are being manipulated by outside influences (whether that's lodge spirits, or the writers, or "the dreamer" or whatever)

Yeah, seems like it's bad for people who have been to the lodge. That's what I'm getting at too, seems like Bob causes it. >writers
Could be something meta like that, it is Lynch after all. Sometimes it feels Evangelion tier so I don't let myself get too wrapped up in the mythology especially since stuff like the Owl Ring aren't even in the series lol
>Jack, may I share something with you? A vision I had in my sleep last night — distinguished from a dream which is mere sorting and cataloging of the day's events by the subconscious. This was a vision, fresh and clear as an event horizon — the mind revealing itself to itself. In my vision, I was on the deck of a vast starship, a bridge of some fantastic proportion. There seemed to emanate from it a light from within — this gleaming radiant trinium. I had known this ship. It had in fact been named after me. This was my first return, a reunion with the deepest wellsprings of my being. Wandering about, I was happy that the ship had been immaculately maintained. There had been added a number of additional decks, but in a way it blended so seamlessly with the original construction, one would never detect any difference. Returning to the ship's bridge, there came a knock at the hatch. You and Sam were standing there. you were both happy and care-free together, clearly living a life of deep harmony and joy. We embraced — a warm and loving embrace, nothing withheld. We were in this moment one. My vision ended. I awoke with a tremendous of optimism and confidence in you and Sam, and your future. That was my vision; it was of you. I'm so glad to have had this opportunity to share it with you. I wish you nothing but the very best, always.
Tell me about your relationship with your father

Major Briggs was a pretty cool guy
>He gave me the creeps
Holy zoomium
yooooo fr no cap
GOOLD?
he's an ob-gyn as his side gig
I always thought it was interesting that the most spiritual character in twin peaks was an air force officer involved in UFO research.
He wasn't involved in UFO research. That was his cover story, he was researching the woods.

Old school high level military and intelligence leaders in America were all practicing wizards
They won't get it, anon, you're right but don't bother.
I sometimes wish my dad was any of the male characters in stargate. Instead he was this homosexual.
Did he make you into an angry repressed gay alcoholic too?
If I was gay I'd probably be happier
monkey pox and HepC don't make you happy, moron
>Implying I'd be having sex
>I sometimes wish my dad was any of the male characters in stargate.
He was in almost every 90s tv series as almost the same character.
you might be a Goo'uld

didn't he have the worst fate?
don't remember clearly but he was assassinated, right?
He had the best fate, stupid. How filtered can you possibly be?
I don't know, but I watched the show like a million years ago sorry, I thought he was murdered before season 3
What no he became the head of Homeworld Security after season 7 and then retired a bit later after that.

Twin Peaks is unironically the closest thing we ever got to disclosure
Anon I've been briggsmaxxing IRL for 30 years let me tell you I shit my whole ass off about this watching twin peaks for the first time
He was a man trying to reach his son, the problem is he expected too much of his son and curbed him too little.
I found him to be a very sympathetic character as opposed to his son who is basically a stereotype
On my first watch I thought Bobby was going to be extremely important after his freakout at the funeral, but then he spends the entire time fricking around on pointless side plots with Shelly.

What do you think the finger twitching in season 2 means anon
Same reason Mike cut his arm off, left hand represents evil in Christian mythology.
Or maybe way too fricking much processed sugar and caffeine idk
