I think they use the fact that Louise is supposed to be a small child when it's convenient. They don't write her like one most of the time, but then you remember she's supposed to be 9 and this kind of behavior makes sense.

The behaviour makes sense but what doesn't is Bob realising he should give up on his dreams if someone who loves him is mildly inconvenienced by it.

That's the whole show, his family and friends kinda suck

          Bob has no friends.

I mean there's Teddy and Mort but the former's such a fat doofus and the latter barely exists after Season 3.

It makes perfect sense. If men want wives and children they should be willing to give up on their dreams and settle for working in power plants or having window sill gardens

Black person in this economy that's becoming a parent in general.

I don't know about that, if anything her age just makes this behavior more alarming.

Plotwise it just plain doesn't make sense. How does destroying her dad's plants ensure her goal of getting Logan immediately out of the restuarant?

I say this lovingly but the people behind bob's burgers couldn't write themselves out of a paper bag. the tension here isn't between bob and louise but louise and logan meaning the resolution between bob and louise feels out of place and distracted.

Trying to justify it, I'd say she saw that as the reason Logan had a job, but really I don't think she was doing it for that reason. She was only doing it to get at her dad. It was wanton destruction because she was angry, nothing more.

So the Bobs Burgers staff was so afraid of their fans thinking they're pro-Louigan that they torpedoed her character?

I think they just wanted to end on a sappy emotional moment and just went down a tortuous path to get there.

Just rewatched this episode and I forget they included a musical number to tell us how annoyed Louise and Linda are.

She's 9 and was desperate for a way to get Bob to take her issue with Logan seriously.

Better question; why do cartoon gays get so ridiculously offended and slighted over episodes, that I'll grant you are badly written, to such a degree that they infer more intention than the writers ever put into making it? I've seen people take personal insults with better chill.

Tbf the show's writing is on more than one occasion unfairly cruel to Bob, but out of all the episodes that do that this one pisses Cinemaphile off the most because they hate children and they think one of Bob's kids going against him is an especially egregious display of disrespect towards the patriarch of the family.

But it's not a serious issue and attacking his plants is mean.

      Because of the sanctimonious nature.
Don't try and sell me Louise having a temper tantrum at her dad because of her own entitlement as a heartwarming moment and people wouldn't take such an issue with the episode.

Can’t recall any where they hated their OWN characters but I can name a half dozen where the writer hates someone else’s usually vastly more popular character they have to write about.

I only made it to episode 1 of the Harley Quinn show and it’s pretty damn obvious the writer is super salty Harley can’t ever match up to Joker in popularity.

It's funny to go back to the beginning of the show and see Louise being genuinely mean/evil/unhinged, Bob being assertive or grouchy and Linda not being insane
