Have yet to watch one.
What was the last movie you enjoyed from 2020?
I stopped in 2016
>losing interest in movies based on the results of American elections
Yikes
Avatar but my friends didn't react to my favorite scenes.
>200 million dollar movie
>opens with 12 year old girl alien cat things that are 90% nude sexually waving their asses around and taunting some human teenager also mostly naked
>clearly fanservice for some kind of degenerate fetish
Who is that movie even for? I made it like 20 minutes in and had to turn it off. I thought the first one was decent, looked cool on imax when it came out. The sequel is a whole other level of weird though, like anime tier weird.
The silent majority of psychedelic pervs rose up. Praise Eywa.
The director, James Cameron, is basically your average creepy anime fan.
E
The Northman.
After the Northman ended, someone in the theater stood up and started clapping and said “Now THAT is a fricking MOVIE. FRICK Spider-Man.”

Not saying many of these are masterpieces, but I enjoyed them. These are all very mainstream too. I don't get why a film board has such a population of people proud of not watching modern films. There's a lot out there.
The majority of Cinemaphile is basically just a bunch of brainless people who only have the mental capacity to watch Marvel and Star Wars, hate it, and assume that's all there is to film. They'd be bored to tears if they watched any of the films on your list even though most of them are pretty good.
I feel like 75% of posts on this board are just /misc/ even if they try to tie in movies or tv in some way. I don't mind /misc/ on /misc/ but I am getting pretty tired of it here. Are there other places to go? Open film discussion, etc?
Well, Reddit's no good, not because I automatically dismiss Reddit, but because I gave it a chance and anything they have to say about the movie is just literally the same exact opinions that film critics have on the movie, regurgitated as if it's their own thought. It quickly becomes very irritating.
I'm sure one of the dedicated film forums out there like movieforums.com or themoviedb.org must be decent for film discussion but it still boils down to personal taste.
What year did that Bob Odenkirk movie nobody come out? I think that's the last movie I liked
For me, it was Aftersun.
Corner Office, starring Sarah Gadon.
North of Normal, starring Sarah Gadon.
Ferrari, starring Sarah Gadon.
Why does she do so many movies in one year? Is she desperate for money?
Sarah Gadon is a prolific actress. She has even more movies releasing in 2024.
I want to love between her thighs...
Love?
Godzilla Minus One could possibly be the greatest Godzilla movie ever made, It was short lived tho because the new Godzilla/Kong trailer that came out a couple days later was absolute trash and just ruined my Godzilla mood.
There will probably continue to be more Japanese Godzilla movies. I thought Shin Godzilla was going to be a one-off but Godzilla Minus One has proven me wrong, so I think there will be more.
I wish.
I don't. Frick Nazis, and that includes you.
picrel took me by surprise with how well written it was.
the fct this isn't talked about more is real unfortunate.
>released straight to VOD
well no wonder.
but yeah, it does look like an interesting premise from the trailer.
Should have dived in it blind.
I mean people hardly go to theaters unless it's for a massive blockbuster movie so I think it's more that it's just one of the dozens of good but overlooked indie movies released each year.
Sweetheart
Whatever this random video that just showed up in my recommendations is supposed to be.
