the show was always marketed as a super rom-com, so dont pretend like people werent expecting standard rom com tropes

but she is literally introduced as wanting to be a real reporter and she drags jimmy and clark with her to get a scoop that will make her a real reporter
her personality is head strong and focused on getting her goals at all costs which causes a lot of trouble for her and her buddies

She isn't though? Yeh she's super into Clark, but she's also really dedicated to her job. Tunnel vision even. To a fault.

It's hilarious that people just can't seem to grasp how perfectly this show captures the 14-40 female demo
It's like it was designed in a lab by the most brilliant minds on earth to pander as hard as possible to that demo without creepy abusive Twilight shit and it works perfectly

A lot of people liked Twilight
I think it's objectively hilarious because of how surreally bad the writing and acting is and how extremely creepy and crazy everyone is but I also understand that it's total wish-fulfilment and everyone's guilty of liking something like that.
It's like harem isekai but for women

It's fine to like stuff despite its faults, as long as you're aware of those faults. I remember some Cinemaphile or Cinemaphile post years ago that Twilight would have been a smash hit among the Cinemaphile crowd if you inverted the genders so it was the story of a self-insert dude that was being pursued by an elegant vampire lady and an athletic werewolf tomboy. I think there was some r63 fanart as well but I can't find it at the moment, so have a monstergirl.

Adam Sandler movies are all about him being a loser dork that scores with a hot chick by the end and I have never seen anyone praising them in this site

everyone is aware that 90% of adam sandler movies are bad or guilty pleasures that you enjoy in spite of their badness

but people will always bring up the 10% of actually good movies like caddyshack, the wedding singer, water boy, etc when they want to actually talk about what adam sandler did right

Few men can self-insert into a Sandler character. Say what you will about his movies, the MC's at least have a personality.

I sometimes see people say Happy Gilmore was good.

You mean the one who, in almost every bit of media, is always just there to be a damsel, a reader question mouthpiece, or always seems to have some off screen lead or connection to jumpstart the plot before reverting in to damsel status? Yeah, sure.

At least this Lois does shit, which is better than 99% of the other ones out there.

the orignal lois was the definition of an intrepid reporter who did whatever it took the crack the case

the reason superman kept rescuing her is because she kept going out to investigate gang crime, or corruption, or whatever
so that puts her in danger often, she wasnt a damsel in distress, just the logical outcome of winning the CIA award for journalism

              Anonymous

Except Scott is the exact opposite. Everyone loves Scott despite him being a selfish dick because he's incredibly charismatic and attractive.
His arc is realizing the put-down nerd he pretended to be never existed

                Anonymous

Huh, I completely read it the opposite way, especially in the comic where he realises how much of his purported past was a delusion inflated by his unchecked ego and off-kilter, fantastical view on life. Can you expand on your side of the story?

                Anonymous

In most of the story Scott sees himself as a put-upon underdog nerd, but even in the early chapters we can see that practically the whole town knows him and he's the best fighter in the city. Julie is literally in love with him before the comic even starts, as is Kim, not even mentioning Knives. He also shows a bit of his selective memory with Kim and Envy
Near the end of the comic it's revealed that Scott recontextualizes everything that happens to him to make himself the hero when in reality he's kind of an butthole. The biggest example is his version of "saving Kim" which was in reality him just jumping her boyfriend.

Edgar Wright legit just didn't get the comic, he fell for Scott's unreliable self-characterization when the end of Scott's arc is him reconciling with his real memories and the fact that he's NOT some underdog hero, he's a selfish douchebag that needs to get over himself.

Women literally biologically can't be strong and any independence is just whining, crying, whoring and lying until men give them what they want. It's just playing pretend when they know they're just holes to frick that men could take at any time if they wanted and will offer it up to whomever they can get the most money and attention from being with.
