that is a hard one with much thought I've come to the conclusion that there are no bad episodes of SG-1 but I do have episodes that are not as my favorite as the others and the one where teal gets bit by a wasp like creature and then it has eggs growing inside of him is pretty fricking boring

that one with the black team member guy who turns out to be an alien tricking them

space race was kino but I will admit it's a very NOT stargate episode. the civilization depicted really stands out as more of a star trek type civilization as why wouldn't Earth just buy some spaceships from them?

Space Race was literally a rewritten Voyager episode "Drive".
Funnily enough the VOY episode "Workforce" is a rewritten SG-1 episode "Beneath the Surface" about the team/crew getting their memories wiped and made to work in a factory.

I fricking hate The Sentinel. it represents Stargate at its worst when it doesn't even try to be epic or at least a little visually interesting. we never see the invading Goold, just a boombox voice from the sky, lazily tossing some shitty CGI laserblasts on a shitty CGI city whose one establishing shot we keep seeing. whose inhabitants we never see and thus do not care about. the only interaction between Earth and that planet is a tiresome argument that never goes anywhere between O'Neill and the old butthole president of that planet (the homosexual "Nansy Pansy" judge from Boston Legal). there is never any believable sense of danger, at all. nor do I give a shit about the hamfisted redemption arc for some extra from a season 3 episode who is suddenly a main character I guess. add to that the obligatory canadian forest setting and Jaffa that look like used car salesmen in ill-fitting cosplay uniforms. frick the Sentinel

      >It's amazing that clip shows used to be acceptable.
They never were. Hell, shows quickly became self aware of how lame they were by basically having the cast apologize to the audience through dialog or the flimsy story the clipshow is built around.
      >*trapped in room story* "This is lame, but, this reminds me of the time when we were trapped on X and Y happened" *clip plays*
      >*big change in group dynamic* "I can't believe X(X's actor left for whatever reason) is dead/married/moved/reactivated by army/slipped into dimension X." "Neither can I, let's just remember the good times" *clip plays*

Jaffa episodes (all of them) suck. They're as bad as Klingon episodes in TNG. It's because none of them have personality beyond strong, stoic warriors in their warrior culture. We get it, you're fighting for freedom.

I think its acceptable for a series this long to have a few really shit episodes, ones that are just pointless, boring or tonally inconsistent, I can just ignore those
Whats worse I think is when an episode shows critically important events in an unsatisfying way, like e1s7 IIRC
Its the very next episode (I think) after Daniel's attempt to destroy Anubis, and he's found reincarnated with memory loss on some planet through sheer luck by an SG team. Within that single episode he is shown to
    >Be alive
    >Have made himself a new life on this planet
    >Be found by SG teams
    >Be convinced to abandon his life there and come to SGC
    >Start to remember his old life
    >Consider not coming back
    >Chabne his mind and rejoin SGC
Daniel's story is so good up until that point, and now they handwave another season worth of storyline for him in a single episode, and the memory loss is never an issue again
Its shit and a waste of potential kino, and therefore one of the worst episodes

      Anonymous

They should have discovered Daniel trying to live a new life as a mediocre actor in a failing theater company, and he begs to rejoins SG-1 when he realizes he has zero talent and can't make it on his own.

My first thought was a hundred days. Totally shit boring episode.

Someone else mentioned clip shows and any one of those would be worse than this one, but assuming those are dropped from hard mode because they're not real episodes, definitely A Hundred Days.

Emancipation is fine. It's kinda boring and not worth a rewatch, but I don't believe you actually "turned it off at 5 minutes" like you keep saying every time there's a stargate thread. I think you just wanna project your hate for feministic points of view.

There's plenty they could've done. Atlantis is a collection of all of ancient science.

Like, if they're always so worried about using up the ZPM, why waste so much energy (assuming that the lights also work on the ZPM) by lighting up like Las Vegas? Aren't there only a hundred or so people stationed on Atlantis?

The problem is a small show wouldn't have a large reach, and having them find some new piece of technology each week would be expensive on the production side, and small, expensive shows, with limited reach typically dont get made.

Yes. Loved the episode where they found the civilization simulator that turned out to control actual settlements.

It was an analogue of catholicism, which shouldn't be surprising considering America and Canada are mostly protestant. Zoomers forget that atheists aren't the only group that shat on catholics historically, it's only very recently that we got "christianity" as a blob identity.

LOL, the hats worn by those Protestants were unusually small.

Universe suffered from trying to be something it wasn't instead of trying to be what it was. The show was at its best when it stopped trying to be BSG, stopped trying to be SG-1/SGA, stopped relying on the fricking stones to do boring Lifetime drama shit every week, and just tried to be its own fricking thing and play into its very interesting sci-fi premises.

They would have had to bring in better writers. Most of what people hate about SGU was due to writers having few unique ideas and just falling back on the older shows or standard sci-fi tropes.

It's said the Ancients abandoned their CivIRL games. My assumption was actually that they started to question what they were doing to developing societies the same way that the SGA team did, realizing they were playing gods. Given that the Ancients may never have interfered as much as McKay and Sheppard did with the two civilizations they found (McKay did what had never happened before, if I remember the episode correctly, by directly giving technology to "Geldar" so the Ancients definitely didn't interfere), and hated fighting (the only reason the two civs started antagonizing was Sheppard and McKay), they quite possibly had a much more hands off policy about it even before they stopped.

That and the only reason it was a "game" was because McKay didn't know what he was actually doing and mistook it for one, then hacked it into a couple of computers.

They say in the episode some of the civilizations in the "civIRL” database abandoned the oracle table and went on to develop their societies, some where culled and some autistically awaited further instructions like the one in the show.
Now about the wraithh. If they culled those planets with the grid satellites. Imagine they had found the tech and started playing Farmville to maximize feed production.

I find this episode entertaining, as long as you entertain the premise for its own sake.

Alar did nothing wrong of course.

Also was perplexed first time though when O'Neill was looking at pictures and complaining they were 'all the same'. It's like he's an alternate O'Neill from CURRENT YEAR Hollywood to have reached that conclusion so quickly, (not enough 'muh diversity' based on what? Tens of pictures of aliens?) Though Alar did make that remark about Teal'c, he could have been talking about him being a worm-gutted Jaffa, (wouldn't be the first), or anything else.

Besides it was actually Alar's Dad that literally did nothing wrong, he was presumably only raised to not do nothing wrong, and wound up merely fighting for survival after his Dad actually did the nothing that wasn't wrong.

They were all saved. SG-1 hooked up a power supply to the ship in exchange for Daniel being returned to normal. All of the "souls" in Daniel's brain were put into the engineer dude that caused the whole episode. Then he was put into stasis until their people could figure out what to do with him and the souls he was carrying.

His son and wife are exceptionally boring. Should've spent the Teal'c episodes getting to know the inner workings, chain of command and tactics of the jaffa troops.
They could've been about him going toe-to-toe against some of his former comrades. The conflicts that arise from having to pick between SG-1 and his brothers-in-arms would've been vastly more interesting than watching another child actor grow up ugly.

Playing Teal'c must have gotten really boring for him so in later season to keep him from leaving the show, he wasn't required to shave his head anymore and was allowed to write episodes that fleshed out his character. It just happens that those particular details weren't really what fans were interested in.

It was an analogue of catholicism, which shouldn't be surprising considering America and Canada are mostly protestant. Zoomers forget that atheists aren't the only group that shat on catholics historically, it's only very recently that we got "christianity" as a blob identity.

While some may think it is cowardly to tell an actor their role is being reduced through their agent instead of face to face, it really is a better way of handling things so the actor can get over the shock and can be calmed down by their agent before making a decision or burning any bridges.

I dunno why but I always disliked Heroes. I hate the documentary aspect to it and I feel like it cheapened Dr Frasiers death.

He fricked the actress who played Sha're and had one daughter with her. Then married Lexa (season 9 Doctor) and had two kids with her.

Michael did frick a lot of people. Richard Dean Anderson was worse though. He used to date Teri Hatcher and ended up cheating on her with a bunch of people.

The look in her eye, you just KNOW they banged

Daniel is known to be THE most hung guy in SGC, possibly one of the biggest in the galaxy. His wiener has been described as "like a Staff Weapon", with gargantual thickness that would rival Shane Diesel and Shorty Mac. I'm estimating his size to be at least 8.5" bone pressed, with OVER 7" of girth. He would have absolutely destroyed any gateworld native's pussy.

They would have spent hours and hours on foreplay, getting herself wet enough just so she can take it. i can just imagine her begging for it, with Daniel barely able to force it past the knob, and Kegan moaning and squirming, demanding him to force it in deeper. she would have orgasm'd within seconds of taking the entire length, being filled and stretched right up to her cervix. The orgasm would have been powerful, with her veganal muscles clamping down on Daniel Jackson's throbbing monstrosity, her whole body quivering in euphoria..

I bet she still jerk offs to the memory of it

Seriously just how many worlds did Daniel Jackson seed himself?
Look at how Kegan stares at him while polishing that wrench with both hands. She's just wishing her hands were wrapped around and stroking his fat white wiener instead of inanimate metal.
No wonder he's such a skilled diplomat. If you just put him alone in a room with any native his undiluted sexual energy will just seduce and overpower them to the point where they'll do anything he says just to feel him
The first words that any unknown alien species attempts to communicate in the presence of Daniel invariable relate to reproduction and the outright need for their lineage to be cleansed by his superior Tau'ri seed.
The primary export to other planets from earth isn't raw resources. It isn't technology or knowledge. It's collected samples of Daniel Jacksons sperm taken ,dripping, from the limp ,exhausted, ecstatic bodies of, now assuredly pregnant, female SGC members just to ensure that none of it goes to waste.

That First few Flashback / Recap episodes where they didnt even try to make a story for it just characters sitting in a room and the cut to flashback. I think Politics and Out of Mind from S1 - S2
Latter they realized they can actually put a story around the flashback episode to further the overall plot.

Stargate has THE WORST history when it comes to adaptations. They almost made an MMO, several FPS games came close to fruition too. All of them cancelled. I did enjoy some Stargate mods on Garrysmod back in the day.

There is a tactics game coming soon apparently but I have no hope for it:

      only the ttrpg is goo(L)d
Stargate has a horrible history of game adaptations
It's too late now, a new game would just suck like all the current non-Stargate games do
Our only hope would be some indie developer getting the okay to make a Stargate game. Something in the point and click rpg might be the best way to do it. Like Heroine Quest wa a nod to the King Quest games and was awesome. maybe something in the vein of Star Trek 25th anniversary, but with Stargate lore might work. Lost of quest/planets to have adventure on and a main storyline connecting them all.

honestly, it think RDA and Amanda Tapping bailing out in Season 9-10 is what killed it. No issues with the Ori or it's Priors but watching it was a teen with RDA and Tapping gone made me ask myself why I was still watching it. It didn't feel like Stargate. They budget for CGI got better. SGU was a good evolution but it got killed to quickly.

        Anonymous

RDA had long checked out by then, he was full on fat bastard by S8. IIRC Tapping had just had a kid which was why she was missing a few episodes.
Ori arc was shit but certainly not because of Ben Browder who really put the effort in with the fights and action. Claudia Black was totally miscast and her character a fifth wheel, Shanks is boring and Judge had so much work done on by that point he looked like a wax statue, his face in the first scene of S9 or 10 is jarring.

          >RDA had long checked out by then
Yea I figured during Season 7-8. I just marathoned it over the summer, and knowing that Jack and Carter dips by S9-10 made me burn out during S8. I never did like how they handled killing of characters too.

You now remember the two parter in SGA where they randomly come across a ship full of living lanteans who take over atlantis and then die offscreen like chumps

That kinda pissed me off because they were actual Ancients, I was honestly hyped that they were not a fake out of Replicators. Then they get killed off screen, no survivors and was never brought up again. At least they brought back Asgardians.

Do I have hope Amazon would revive it? Sure, do I hope they just continue with it rather than reboot it, I hope so. Of course the old cast are too old and fat now, so I think it's primed for a renewal.

            Anonymous

            >That kinda pissed me off because they were actual Ancients
I mean the running theme of Atlantis is that the Ancients were really, really moronic. The frozen antarctica episode in SG-1 was a mistake, they should have remained a vanished mystery like the Iconians in star trek. Making them "humans" is too cringe.

what always gets me all these years later is how the writers made fun of CW teen dramas in one of the parody sequences in the episode "200"
and then they wrote a show that was exactly what they said they would never do

            Anonymous

The first season is also so fricking boring and does not hold any rewatch value.
The last time I saw it was back in 2009, and I was shocked by how many episodes there were where absolutely nothing happens.
And then, they try to play up the Lucian Alliance as the next big threat which was laughable as hell.
The indie music montages at the end of every other episode got really old really fast.
It was like every stereotype for a [current day] series (at the time) rolled into one.
You even had the obligatory strong man hating lesbian character.

        >Sam Carter being bland as frick, what a waste
        >Teyla's baby daddy is a character we never saw before and will never see again, either

McKay is the real Alpha of the team. Doesn't mean he's the best, but he is the one calling the shots at the end of the day. The 'leader' just save face by giving him permission or making him sit in a corner for an hour after the fact.

Well I binged watch it a month ago, wanted to input my opinion but I got caught up generating AI images all night. Really tried my best to reconcile how Amazon could reboot it while continuing the storyline but it will probably not have the same vibe as during when Jack and Carter was still on the main cast.

      >Tyranid/Zerg/Bio-lifeform invade the Milkyway Galaxy, evacuate earth via Stargate
Would ruin the clandestine adventure of Stargate.
      >Stargate becomes public knowledge and used for everyday travel like that episode "2010"
      Lol no, same as above
      >Another baddie similar to Goa'uld/Ori/Replicators
      Derivative

I'm not sure how Amazon could reboot it without making their own universe thats more visceral like the violence of "The Boys" with its humor. I mean they could just make a much more violent show with a different SG team entering a dangerous galaxy, which is more action focused, and if they focused on the starships that they have then it just becomes Star Trek. A cross with the seriousness of SGU and the fun of SG1/SGA would be ideal.
