i have never watched anyone's reaction to watching any other movie and always thought that was a stupid thing to do but... watching some negress try to comprehend lord of the rings somehow tickles my pickle.
I started making a list of everything that was wrong with it, because I'm a sperg and had just read the book for the first time a few weeks before it came out.
I was a Peter Jackson fan so was expecting it to be shlock (it still had its fair share). I also had concerns that they would not pull off the Balrog but it was really impressive at the time.
I left the cinema feeling mixed about the film..it felt rushed in places. It was only until the extended edition release on dvd I enjoyed it more.
And then reget it once she gets pregnant. Some polgays have actually married black women and once the whole "black queen" novelty wears off they realize they are just racist dudes marries to a pregnant black women in a long term relationship. There have been threads about this and its depressinh for all sides. Polgays are fricking stupid, imagine if i didn't like asians and i decide to marry an asian women, how the frick do you think that's gonna work out? Its some really moronic cumskin fantasy because of their race obsession. Please dont get married based on a fricking meme.
to have and to hold from this day forward,
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,
till death us do part

I went to the theater with my class mates and a lot of friends in common, it was just a big mess and I barely understand what happened on screen. Only when it came out on vhs I could finally enjoy it.
It was the first memory I have of watching a "real" movie. I was maybe 9 years old and I got to see it in theaters with my parents. It left a huge impact on me, I still rewatch the films every now and then. I remember the orcs and ringwraiths being very frightening at that age.
No movie experience is ever going to top being 9 years old and seeing Fellowship in theaters for the first time. Completely blew my mind and I was obsessed afterwards.
I was around that same age and can still vividly remember how the theater shook when Sauron was first defeated. The movie experience truly filled me with awe.

There was so much great back-to-back kino at that time. Matrix, LOTR, early Marvel. I know I'm forgetting some. Zoomers will have no idea how good movies can actually be.
lemme guess >where's muh black people?
in all honesty the LOTR trilogy is kino and will remain that way forever - some of the CGI is dated but aside from that they're all 110% solid kinos.
(also that weird shot where Elrond and Frodo have their faces fade into shot when he's dying - that's kinda funny).
I remember the first time i saw the fellowship trailer on cinemas and could instantly recognize everything i was seeing. That´s how spot on everything was. I immediately told my friends i was going to drag them to watch the movie even if i had to beat them half to death to do it (They were not fans).
Then the day came and i was excited as frick. Got instantly immersed the moment the sound the new line cinema words hit the screen and slowly gave way to the title. The music alone gave me Goosebumps and then Galadriel spoke. The world is changing she said, the image faded from black and the movie started. I was completely hooked and may as well been all alone there. I wasn´t, the theater was full, yet i don´t remember anyone making a pip. I wouldn´t call it a religious experience but it did feel somewhat ritualistic.
It was definitely a special experience. It has been decades but I still remember that cinema experience vividly. The end of Return of the King was an intense experience as well.

same first experience for me and still true for every rewatch

there's simply no other movie like this trilogy
all the deep and beautiful moments are absolutely kino and all the CGIfest/quips cannot change it
My parents hated all things fantasy/sci-fi so I only got to catch the first half of fellowship at a friends house once it came out on DVD.
Sucks, because all my best friends growing up were star wars/lotr nerds and I didn't actually get to see them until college, back in the days when you could find any movie streaming in a shitty divx encoding online.
i'm terminally contrarian since birth so if my friends all saw something before i did and raved about it, I'd lose all interest in seeing it.
Thankfully I saw LotR before hearing about it.
Turning to my dad and looking at him like he was a crazy person because the pirate DVD he was watching was clearly defective and the entire picture was tinted bright red.
I was never a big Fantasy fan, I prefer SF. But I went opening weekend and LOVED it. The absolute silence when Lurtz pulls back on his bow to shoot Boromir in the head (other than the sound of the bow, of course, no music!) was just savage. I went for each further film. I have a posted signed by the entire Fellowship, and LOTR was the final epic trilogy the world will ever see.
Honestly I was blown away. I wasn't really familiar with LOTR before seeing it, so I didn't really know what to expect other than the names Gandalf and Frodo. I was completely sucked into the world and almost instantly engaged by the story. One of my best movie going experiences, easily.
i have never watched anyone's reaction to watching any other movie and always thought that was a stupid thing to do but... watching some negress try to comprehend lord of the rings somehow tickles my pickle.
inb4 someone starts greentexting what they think would be said in this commentary

post it
I saw Two Towers in theaters before I ever saw Fellowship

I want to read the books before watching these movies. Is it worth it?
yes.
It's Tolkien homie how is that a question. Even if you don't like the prose it's worth reading through it once.
meh
Bilbo's Birthday Party is the peak of all fantasy kino.
wtf i'm watching this cutie at this part in the video right now
Link? Californiablended kino fan
75% of /misc/ would marry this women
not enough european admixture
californiablend is the patrician's choice of negress
Misc is majority brown these days so yes

she cute
I would marry and coom in her
10/10 would marry
She definitely grew up in the white neighborhood
She definitely takes BWC exclusively.
I deserve a black queen!
For what purpose?
to have and to hold from this day forward,
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,
till death us do part
It's death, then.
*shoots you*

I thought it was boring as frick. I was pretty much forced to watch all of these movies and for real I didn't like any of them that much.
What did they think?
They agree with him during the dinner conversation
I don't know homie, I was 5.

The CGI is way better than even today's.

I didn't get like that until later on in college at least. Hard to tell if it's just me or if popular media is just that low quality now.
I thought it was the best thing ever.
And many years later I once again think it is the best thing ever.
these threads are getting out of hand and need their own board
No they aren't. Haven't seen an actual decent LOTR thread for awhile now.
My parents put it on New Year's day in I think 2002 and I was obsessed. They also just wanted to see me and my siblings react to the Bilbo jumpscare
ya'll know Sauron is black coded right? but he making basic ass looking gold rings? no ice or nothing? you just know a white boy wrote this

For the second one
>boy this cities they go to are really small
