I always binge all 10 episodes in one sitting, and I always cry manly tears when it's over. The "Bastogne" episode is kino among kino.
I re-watch it almost every year. typically around this time of year. The Pacific is also fantastic but feels quite different. The Pacific throws the brutality of the pacific theatre in your face. Band of Brothers focuses more on the camaraderie of a company of paratroopers who have trained together for D day.
I liked the book. The guy David Schwimmer played was a much bigger chicken shit moron in the books. Everybody had nice things to say about one another except for that guy, everybody shit on him 60 years later. Tons of interesting soldiers and their stories didn’t make the mini-series. The mini-series was fine but you should read the book, it’s way better.
