I know but I'm wondering how they could pull it off
Because it have that type of humor that's work both as kids jokes and also as adults
Which is very rare for comedy shows to master.
It was a cartoon that understood that adults would be watching it with their kids, and that the kids themselves were going to be growing older over time. That kind of awareness allowed them to create something unique, because it specifically knew what it was trying to do. Other kids' cartoons are usually:
1) Indoctrination content;
2) The watered-down version of a show runner's single, derivative idea in life;
3) Shows that were meant to be adult content but was forced to be made for kids;
4) Toyetic and infantile.
Season 1 didn't have the Faith Song because the Y7 audience wouldn't be worrying about something like how unfair life is. 5 seasons later, when that group is now at least 12 years old, that's when something like the Faith Song gets made, because the show knew to grow up with the foundation that gave it its original success.
Add on to that people on the team who actually care about and enjoy what they're doing (the animation variation alone greatly removes it from all other competition), being incredibly genre-savvy, and tapping into the cultural zeitgeist without being over a decade removed, and it has real heart to it. Oh, sorry, I mean SOVL.
>tapping into the cultural zeitgeist without being over a decade removed,
perhaps the only episode I felt that failed at this was one in the last season, where all the adults dont know how to use technology. That was probably the only one that fell flat.
Sometimes I imagine that if TAWoG had been an adult cartoon developed in America instead of a children cartoon developed in Europe, it would be just another bentobox Family Guy clone, with wannabe edgy jokes, cursing and references to drugs, and writers would use all of those to fill runtime instead of coming up with original ideas like in the original TAWoG. There's an alternate universe out there where this happened. If you ever think that everything sucks, just stop and think of all the great things we do have.
Yeah, I grow up with it airing as a kid and I really liked it
And lately I Start revisiting earlier seasons and find it still hold up but I even pick up on more jokes and subtle references as an adult which just gived me a new appreciation for it.
Clever references, humor that appealed to most age groups, multiple fascinating animation styles, and in-depth personalities even for the characters that got minimal screen time.
It is one of the best things to happen to the network.
Top 5 CN show. Possibly #1.
Enter! The contrarian. Everyone marvel at how handsome and bold he is, flying in the face of popular opinion and coming up with absurd straw man arguments that hold up to not even the slightest scrutiny!
>Postmodern millenial le relatable so self-aware humore >Good and funny
Lol, please if all of you think that genuinely, then kys homosexuals. If you like this shit or TTG or something similar you will never be a real animation fans.
Frick off gayot you probably never watched a single episode
If you consider ttg even remotely comparable to gumball just please do the universe a favor and end it all.
>If you consider ttg even remotely comparable to gumball
Well, yes, they have the similar self-aware postmodern humor and so tryhard meta jokes so proper of modern cartoons that it's fricking dreadful. And please, come back when you mention me an iconic moment of one of the Chuck Jones shorts or name me at least one movie directed by Wolfgang Reitherman, I wait here zoom zoom.
I have a great respect for the efforts and works of both of them in the animation industry specifically and the great influence they had on everything we see till this day
But I can see where it to coming from you think gumball is some postmodern show full of millennial writing and butts jokes but I'll assure you it's not like that comparing it to work of art that was made in the 60s and the 70s is not worth the while because each one of them is trying to do it's own thing.
If you have the time try to check an episode or 2 I think that's the only way you could change your mind
And sorry for telling you to end it
Wait the TTG movies are good actually I just Hate the show from time to time they will release a good set of episodes like the night begin to shine but then they will release another butt joke focus episode or hahaha let's laugh ar Robin's baby hands for 10 minutes
It's like you live vicariously through hating this cartoon.

I don't know what it is about cartoon characters but for some reason people really love jacking off to them in the strangest situations.
No, but i'd say the idea that the kid who is legally their property and was literally bought is black seems like the kind of thing these people would think twice before making.
But then again, they sure seem to love turning everyone black for no frickin' reason.
You tell me? Shouldn't a show that uses multiple forms of animation and styles that all interact with each other seamlessly be praised? Or are you one of those f/a/ggots that thinks everything blowing up into square chunks and "still picture but shaking really fast" is peak 映画?
Holy shit did you just use an episode where the entire plot is the studio keep losing money that's they can't draw anymore and the animation keeps getting worst as a joke.
like wtf bro are you high or something ?

It's painful how hard you're trying to come up with believable bait.

But was it not worth it to hear Nicole use the word "bae"?
Yes, I suppose it was worth it
a. Don't thread yourself
b. That's a lot less clever than what you think
c. It's not even grammatically correct.

Isn't it racist if your half-brother/pet to be black?
No, but i'd say the idea that the kid who is legally their property and was literally bought is black seems like the kind of thing these people would think twice before making.
But then again, they sure seem to love turning everyone black for no frickin' reason.
If Penny is black then Darwin can be white
Those are some really massageable feet on Nicole right there…
Wtf is an ESL-chan?
