Not sure what you zoomers are flipping out about. It was 3 years between BB and Dark Knight, then 4 between DK and DKR. Not every franchise is two movies a year like your beloved MCU
I think people forget this. WB gave The Batman a "premium" price ticket. Prices were 30% higher simply because they couldn't allow the perception that it bombed. So fricking weird.
10% back on the budget isn't too bad tbqhwyf. The sequel has to be a juggernaut though as SAGAFTRA will want Pattinson and the other actors to get hefty uplifts to play the character again.
The metric for "le go broke" now is that the movie doesn't instantly make a gorbillion dollars because it used to mean "breaking even" and they can't argue that anymore because all of their supposedly "woke" films are making their budget back, so the post was moved to whatever amount of ridiculous money it has to make for their argument to work.

It was fine. The woke shit was perfectly ignorable, the ending goes on far too long but that's only a real problem in the cinema. Good atmosphere, good characterisations, good action, my favourite non-Nolan Batman.

It feels like three different films stitched together. The mafia stuff was good, the Riddler stuff was silly, Catwoman's parts sucked and the movie would be better without her. The writing (especially dialogue) was good cringe, politics and blackwashing was.
