Yes but they also took into account that noobs like me would come and watch it. But all in all it managed to stay away from certain tropes and not overdo itself which made it a fun watch.
Take it up with D&D if you don't like it, because if nothing else, the movie quite perfectly depicts how specifically-D&D bards are. All those other examples of bards aren't good representation of D&D style bards.
There's an entire section in that image specifically of D&D bards. They have skills, they frick everything, they're good in combat, and they aren't useless.
And they got a ton of other shit wrong. Did anyone ever run out of spells or abilities? How is it Doric can wildshape into an Owlbear when that's explicitly against the rules? Why is there no limit to the number of times she can wildshape? Why doesn't she carry a staff or use any spells or summons like every fricking Druid can?
Why would the DM introduce a monster, spend a ton of time describing it, then have it just pass the party altogether? Why would he waste their time talking to a bunch of corpses instead of just having them pick the right one in the first few tries? Why is it if the entire point of the macguffin was that it shuts off all magical devices enabling them to get into the vault IMMEDIATELY after it's used they're able to talk to eachother using their MAGICAL communications devices?
Anyone claiming the movie was accurate to D&D is a fricking liar shill fullstop. And the writing was embarrassing garbage.
Have *you* ever actually played D&D, that wasn't 5E? Bards are the dogshit joke class. The "frick everything" is le epin NAT 20 tier meme
I agree with everything else you say about the movie and it's flaws, but Edgin was the most realistic media depiction of an actual D&D bard as they actually play out in a game, not as they are meme'd to be, in a long time.
>Have *you* ever actually played D&D, that wasn't 5E?
Have you? Obviously you haven't, nothing in that image is from 5e. By even asking that you just outed that your stupid ass doesn't know the difference, GG moron lmfao.

The movie is 5e, but the breadth of D&D and the historical reputation of bards is not. Bards only became decent recently in 5e, otherwise they've always been the joke meme class.
Your claiming otherwise makes it obvious that you're a secondary.

Which part of this image is from 5e, and which of these DnD Bards specifically is "weak and useless"? Note: Say "all of them" if you admit you're full of shit and talking out of your ass.

Your picture is an accumulation of bard memes, just like epin le nat 20 bullshit. Actual bards in actual games pre-5e are nothing like that

Yes, bard memes have been common in the hobby since 2e, and blew up in 3e. Your pic, and trading cards of epin meme bards which are dev made or even book characters, nothing like actual in-game bards.
As for the bard spells I don't disagree, but I suspect they just made a movie choice to avoid him casting spells, given the sorcerer and druid.

They're strong Bards who existed before 5e. If you look up lore videos or guide videos on Bards none of them call them useless, and I don't mean BG3 shit, I mean like falsehydra's video and such.

Those example bards though have DMPC syndrome, they were created by devs and/or book writers. Of course they're going to be strong, they have plot armor and usually have the benefit of being created at-level, or at the very least created by someone intimately familiar with the rules/setting which isn't the average player by a long shot.
Though I wouldn't say bards are useless, but they classically were always the meme filler class, and tended to be pretty crappy in your average game. Unless of course in the hands of a powergamer, but those aren't the norm and of course anything can be good with powergaming.

No joke I personally have seen exactly that in multiple games, and not just as a result of the movie or 5e, before all that. They were, I think we'll agree, what could be called bad players. Though not the norm but as said I feel the movie was trying to depict a bad group and bad game.
>"no skills, no weapons, no abilities, shit stats, just give me a lute and make me useless."
you basically summed up old edition bards in a nutshell lmao
100% disagree with your assertion Bards were ever useless. https://youtu.be/qiHXxrCB5yk?si=HHXPFaI1jSratuYs
But let's put that aside for a moment. The writers and directors specifically stated they chose to emasculate their male characters. They were very selective and overtly woke about it. White male bard is useless in every situation and shit on, he fails constantly. Mixed race muttoid Sorcerer is a weak whiney failure. White male gnome is feminine and speaks with a high pitched voice about how he "wept openly" over Holga's job because another big ugly b***h comes in to remind everyone he doesn't just sound like a gay, he's a fricking housewife as she says "WHAT'S FOR DINNER, b***h?" Hugh Grant rounds out the white male cast as an evil, cowardly scoundrel.
Then you got fricking Xenk, proud black male appropriating a British fricking accent and European armor swooned over by every female And Doric and Holga are the only ones competent in battle.
Even if Bards were inherently useless (they aren't and that's dumb) the writers fricking chose that class. He could have been anything. He could have been a rogue or a ranger or a freaking fighter, even a monk. The writers chose that and a shallow, incorrect idea of what a bard is in order to shit on a white male.

I'm pretty sure the whole theme of the movie was that even though the Bard had kind of low self-esteem and felt like he was useless, in reality his leadership was the key to keeping the whole group together and succeeding. They wouldn't have won without him.

You're posting pics of named famous historical bard characters. Of course they're going to be powerful as plot-armored DMPC fodder, if not actual game designer or playtester characters. You'd post a pic of Elminster or Bigby and claim they were representative examples of wizards in a typical game.

>You'd post a pic of Elminster or Bigby and claim they were representative examples of wizards in a typical game.
Yeah. Well, the archetypes of wizard yeah, the best they can be. You can't be given examples of strong Bards and then just assert they don't count because they're powerful lol.

Sure but the point of the movie is that they're a bunch of average joe characters, failing forward through the story, which most D&D games and groups are. It's not that those bard examples don't count, it's that they're not really relevant because Edgin is supposed to be your average bard, who historically tended to be pretty crappy despite some exceptional examples as created by the game developers. He is a bad comparison to them, but a good comparison to the norm.
Anonymous
No one ever goes into a game and specifically says "no skills, no weapons, no abilities, shit stats, just give me a lute and make me useless." In no fricking way is that representative. The average would have at least a short sword and some bardic inspiration.

you faking Black person, bards were full spell casters in 3.5. There is no bad full spell caster class in 3.5, even if they didn't have access to all the spells wizards and druids did. No one cares about 4e and in 5 they're fine. You're making shit up, and this movie bombed because it sucked, and you're a Black person.
Only addressing the inaccuracies, since some of what you said is correct
>run out of spells or abilities
I believe the movie is supposed to be 5E which has some stupid fricked up perversion of the spell/ability economy
>introduce a monster >talking to corpses
I got the impression that in a meta sense, the adventure that is the movie is being run by a bad DM who is malicious to the party, since those examples you give are pretty stereotypical of how a bad DM would abuse players. The inclusion of a Mary Sue DMPC in the paladin is evidence enough
>shuts off magical devices
Cantrips can't be shut off
>which has some stupid fricked up perversion of the spell/ability economy
I've never heard anything about 5e just making everything unlimited.
>bad DM
It's not like the players are any better.
Bard: >I don't want any skills. Nope, no abilities. I don't want to be able to do anything. Shit stats and no weapon either.
Barbarian: >Make me ugly. I want to be an ugly, aging latina with saggy breasts and a dykey haircut who likes to frick tiny shotas. Make me disgusting. Make me a blight on the eyes or everyone around me.
Druid: >I don't want access to spells or summons. No staff either, I want a custom slingshot attached to my forearm. I know they're not really a range class, but houserules, right? Plus, let me be an owlbear. One that's unusually powerful even by owlbear standards.
Sorcerer: >Make me shit at all my spells due to lack of confidence. I want to be completely useless beyond party tricks. And since the girls are gonna be tough, have me scream like a girl at the slightest danger. Even my own spell will scare me!

Lmfao.
Got a problem with white people existing and being allowed to maintain their cultural identity? Are you "unable to relate" to people who don't have your skin color? It's a fricking fantasy world. They can do whatever they want. They can take architecture from one part of the world and people from another. Who the frick cares?
The fact the lotr prequel show had black people in it, and there are no black people in sight in the original movies, like they were killed off or something lol.
Idk if 11 Blacks out of the rest of the cast (I swear if you're calling Michelle Rodriguez a Black I will find you and tape you in the mouth) seems like a minority spot for minority folks.
But also that's only a critique of the film if you're a foaming at the mouth racist.
And there you are, sticking out like a sore thumb as always with your insincere ancient reactionfaces. Ready to say you're just pretending to be moronic like you alway do when the butthurt sets in?
It's obviously the measure of the film's success and whether or not it connected with audiences. The movie bombed, hard because no one liked it.
Critics are worthless and user scores are also worthless because critics can be bought and user scores are based only on people who were willing to pay for it and if that's a tiny group then it's not an accurate sampling. Hence a bomb like Bros getting a perfect score and What is a Woman also getting a perfect score, if only one person saw it but they give it a positive review that's a perfect score. Completely worthless.
So the only measure we're left with is how well it did financially? Were people interested in seeing it? In the case of this movie the answer is a resounding, overwhelming "NO. And frick your stupid wokeshit. cry about it esg gay."
What else is there? Unpopular definitely means bad, and this is definitely unpopular. All the merch sold like shit, the movie bombed. It's a dud.

Okay, let me dumb this down for you.
>No one watched it, it bombed, all the merch sold like shit.
No one liked it, this means it's bad.
>Movie made a lot of money.
This doesn't in itself make the movie good. There are cases where something has been financially successful but then gone on to have a very negative reaction. For example, Captain Marvel made a billion dollars, but then everyone hated Brie Larson, every related property bombed and The Marvels made less money than any MCU movie ever.
Am I arguing with Great Thurnburg over here? You keep arguing it's lack of success doesn't mean it's bad, but what do you propose as an alternative measure since we've already established why review scores are worthless? If you don't have a better suggestion, then you're just being a moron.
Anonymous
Okay, let's work with that logic.
20 million budget movie makes 200 million = big success = good movie
200 million budget movie makes 200 million = big failure = bad movie
Even though the same amount of people watched it? Ratings and reviews simply don't matter?

His logic is "movies that don't make a ton of money are bad. Movies that make a ton of money are good unless I don't like them, in which case they are bad."

>Okay, let's work with that logic. >20 million budget movie makes 200 million = big success = good movie
This is specifically NOT my logic. I said a movie failing in it's own right means people didn't like t. No one wanted to go see this movie. That can't be denied, but a movie being a success doesn't mean it's good either. Especially with children's movies since half the time the parents don't give a shit and will just take their kids to anything to shut them up for two hours. I've spoken to parents like this. Transformers is a more interesting case. The movies kept making money even though reviews were awful and no one seemed to like them, but eventually people stopped going. And subsequent to this everything Michael Bay has produced has bombed. That's an extremely negative legacy.
Now again, do you have an alternate suggestion or not?
>Ratings and reviews simply don't matter?
Consider the image with the plate of shit anon. If 100 people all said shit on a plate was delicious, would that convince you shit really was delicious or would you just think it had been rated by 100 shit eaters?

No anon, the reviews are worthless because critic reviews on RT have been admitted to be bought and paid for, so the score doesn't mean anything anymore. This is true for movies in general. This is why virtually everything is in the 90's despite everyone saying most movies are shit.
The user scores are worthless because they're not representative of a general consensus, just of people who bought into whatever the movie was preaching and would give a thumbs up no matter what.

It's a measure of how much the trailer connected with audiences. The reviews and reactions from the people that saw it is literally the measure of how much it connected with audiences. hmm what could the difference possibly be, israelite?
>we
every post you people make has this mob mentality behind it. Are you incapable of making an argument without imagining a group of people supporting you?
This. Nobody here ever complained about the whitewashing of Avatar here, but when the whiteys get replaced, it's suddenly a problem. You could just switch the reactions for both series and it applies to the other side.
Nta but: >https://www.gamesradar.com/dungeons-and-dragons-2-chris-pine-interview/ >"I've heard some rumors about it," he tells us of a potential follow-up. "But I don't know anything yet. But I feel pretty confident that it may happen." When we ask if he'd be happy to return, Pine responds: "Absolutely."
Also this: >https://www.ign.com/articles/dungeons-dragons-movie-sequel-could-happen-lower-budget-paramount-boss >Speaking with Variety, Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins suggested a Dungeons & Dragons movie sequel is still on the table. However, he acknowledged its budget would need to be a reduction on the $150 million spent on Honor Among Thieves. "We've got to figure out a way to make it for less," he said.
So again, NOTHING? Lmfao. Remember when it was supposed to be a TV series? Saying "it could happen" to a movie is confirming the series is DEAD. Lmfao.

there's a reason he gives back the walking stick because he never uses it, he has a natural walking stick if you get my meaning, and that's why the big ladies love him
>almost 150 posts, only 31 posters
i can smell the people behind the shilling of this garbage, redditors and Cinemaphileermins (europoors)
they are also shilling BG3 on /v, that game with trannies, gays and zoophilia
I think it's one group. The posts are the same every thread, same images, same arguments, same gaslighting, and by the end of the thread they always get frustrated and insanely childish. For a while I thought they were coming from r/moviecirclejerk because I've seen screenshots of them sperging out about Cinemaphile posts before, but maybe it's some discord or something. Every single time it's the exact same assertions.
Also, a reminder, the person who makes these threads admitted once he also makes the Simu threads and is a proud pedophile:
No you just have general brainrot, this is shown by how when triggered you immediately start crying about "pol" or "chuds" or one of the other things that makes you feel stupid. Go on, name something that makes you realize the weakness of your arguments and belies or name one of your mental illnesses again,
>What made this movie in particular mindbreak a guy so hard?
You mean to make him remake the same thread thousands of times? I'd say it's the film's profound and total failure. The death of your ideology. Same reason you spam those frog pictures in every thread you post your woke anti-white moron spew. Your inferiority is what broke you.
No, all images of posting histories get reported as "spam" regardless of who posts them. But hyperlinking to them is fine. This is why you don't do it anymore either, we both know this homosexual.
But your admission in mentioning this is that none of the other images I post are spam. Eat shit.
Probably his mentall illness kicked in at the same time as this movie was in theaters.
This isnt even a woke movie for 2023 hollywood standards, so i cant find any logical conclusion but some coincidence.
Ah, got you to the point you're seething, you're officially in the "speak of him in the third person, project your own mental illness and claim you were just pretending to be moronic" stage.
Protip: The voices in your head aren't other people.
Reposting a suggestion that they keep the same actors but make completely new characters so that it seems like a D&D group doing a new one shot. Infinitely repeatable.
There's also a suggestion for climbing power via increasing the levels of the same characters, but it seems like it'll be a slope into Marvel slop so I'm not a fan
same actors different characters unironically a great idea and a fun gimmick for a series but:
no post credits scene bullshit
no breaking the 4th wall.
Just play it completely straight and have some faith that the audience can be in on the joke without having to spell it out for them. Also have a sexy black dragon.
Pine is absolutely charming as hell, he's great in everything he's in.
The plot wasn't terrible, sure it was boring and formulaic but at least it puts in a few moral lessons here and there.
Good costumes, the writing was respectable. CGI was used to enhance the movie instead of distract from it.
It's a shame any sequel will have the woke crap dialed up to 11 and will sideline Pine for some mystery meat girlboss.
they understood that D&D, at its heart, is fundamentally a goofy comedy game about cheesing and abusing the mechanics of the game and world, and the fantasy and story is secondary.
that's not how you play the game at all and if you've ever played like that the DM should, in all good conscience, fricking eradicate you and the other players should ostracise you.
Casting against type - world weary protagonist Chris Pine, Hugh Grant as an actor familiar to boomers as the villain who would otherwise facepalm at another loud fantasy movie. They perfectly cornered the tropes of the series without punching down and made a fun movie similar to the first Guardians of the Galaxy.
Subtle pit-fu, druid's outfit had little pit pockets and sexy barbarian had hairy pits like it made sense for her to.
But neither was played up at all, just occurring every now and again
Kino
>movie bombs so hard a sequel doesn't make sense
I've won >a sequel is made anyways wasting even more money
I win even harder? Why be upset about a israelite burning some of his petty cash?
white person practicing martial arts: extremely problematic, delete from all american media including avatar and mortal kombat
yasuke: give this Black person a cartoon and aaa video game right now!!!
>Product is genuinely good >Gets shit on, on Cinemaphile because Blacks >Fat dragons, magic battles and a jb that can morph into animals = immersion fine >Non whites in the cast = immersion destroyed, must shit post in every thread
Do you legitimately have a problem with other people enjoying something?
black characters for black actors
asian characters for asian actors
european characters for everyone
also if it’s an anime or fake american anime all the cast has to be asian no matter the character
I liked the film. I thought it was cool that even though Chris Pine was a bard he never casts magic, makes him feel more like a rogue who happens to play a lute, which fits in with his backstory as a former Harper
It felt like it was made by people who actually played the game and were we'll familiar with the source material
This.
It felt like a film version of an actual tabletop campaign, with all the weird shit that goes on.
Yes but they also took into account that noobs like me would come and watch it. But all in all it managed to stay away from certain tropes and not overdo itself which made it a fun watch.
Lmao, frick off.
Actual bards in actual games pre-5e are nothing like that
Which you would know if you weren't a secondary
>Trading cards from literal decades before 5e are "le nat 20 bullshit".
>Dissonant Whispers didn't exist until 5e
You're not gaslighting very well.
The writers chose that and a shallow, incorrect idea of what a bard is in order to shit on a white male.
ayo that vid is 5th ed
I would bet money they chose bard simply because, shit class or not, bards mechanically and thematically are the party face and "main character" of games
>are the party face and "main character" of games
Nah, that would be the fighter. The basic, generic "swords and armor, no spells" class.
Have to disagree on that. I mean maybe in stories and media, but mechanically speaking in actual tabletop games? The bard does the talking and is the main guy
No one ever goes into a game and specifically says "no skills, no weapons, no abilities, shit stats, just give me a lute and make me useless." In no fricking way is that representative. The average would have at least a short sword and some bardic inspiration.
No joke I personally have seen exactly that in multiple games, and not just as a result of the movie or 5e, before all that. They were, I think we'll agree, what could be called bad players. Though not the norm but as said I feel the movie was trying to depict a bad group and bad game.
>"no skills, no weapons, no abilities, shit stats, just give me a lute and make me useless."
you basically summed up old edition bards in a nutshell lmao
you faking Black person, bards were full spell casters in 3.5.
I believe the movie is supposed to be 5E which has some stupid fricked up perversion of the spell/ability economy
>introduce a monster
>talking to corpses
I got the impression that in a meta sense, the adventure that is the movie is being run by a bad DM who is malicious to the party, since those examples you give are pretty stereotypical of how a bad DM would abuse players. The inclusion of a Mary Sue DMPC in the paladin is evidence enough
>shuts off magical devices
Cantrips can't be shut off
>which has some stupid fricked up perversion of the spell/ability economy
I've never heard anything about 5e just making everything unlimited.
>bad DM
It's not like the players are any better.
Bard:
>I don't want any skills. Nope, no abilities. I don't want to be able to do anything. Shit stats and no weapon either.
Barbarian:
>Make me ugly. I want to be an ugly, aging latina with saggy breasts and a dykey haircut who likes to frick tiny shotas. Make me disgusting. Make me a blight on the eyes or everyone around me.
Druid:
>I don't want access to spells or summons. No staff either, I want a custom slingshot attached to my forearm. I know they're not really a range class, but houserules, right? Plus, let me be an owlbear. One that's unusually powerful even by owlbear standards.
Sorcerer:
>Make me shit at all my spells due to lack of confidence. I want to be completely useless beyond party tricks. And since the girls are gonna be tough, have me scream like a girl at the slightest danger. Even my own spell will scare me!
Yes, as a comedy the movie very much felt like it was a bad group with a bad DM, which I feel was part of the point
Could be mistaken but last I recall 5e fricked up the way Vancian spellcasting worked
He's doing the stupid fricking
>Wild magic!
empowerment mechanic so we know it's 5e, as a sorcerer he can just keep casting at wild-risk
Anon wtf are you doing? Arguing with schizo? lol
>Everyone who makes me feel stupid is a schizo!
Keep projecting lol. It is all you have afterall.
i've even memorized your pic filenames, you subhuman mentally ill.
Hopefully when the sequel will be greenlit you will have a nice day.
Look how angry you're getting about this movie being shit on lol, you want anonymous strangers to die because your woke pile of shit BOMBED. Lmfao. You're reduced to fricking magical thinking. "Maybe if thing that won't happen does then you'll die! Lmfao, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>you want anonymous strangers to die
only you schizo, you deserved it for ruining 90% of threads about d&d since march.
Honey, they were ruined before you made them because the movie is shit and none of your autistic magical thinking or demanding the death of people who trigger you will make it not be shit or not have bombed.
Btw, remember when after getting raped at the box office by John Wick, Suzume and Mario, Return of the King was re-released for a week with no advertising to celebrate it's 20th anniversary, and despite everyone already having seen it, it handily beat D&D at the box office despite being on a third of the screens? Lmfao.
bards are arguably the best class in 5e, moron
>in 5e
Holy fricking secondary
Now talk about the rest of D&D's multi-decade history where they were shit
the movie is mutt/homosexual/troony nu-dnd so talking about 5e is appropriate

Lmfao, have fun trying to make a personal army thread on an anonymous Cinemaphile poster.
You've never played a D&D campaign with friends and no amount of autistic and mentally ill pictures will save you.
I've played multiple, although they were entirely online through chatrooms and discord servers and that uh... I forget the name of them but there's two like, programs for finding parties and an online environment for play. I won't deny it's been like six years since I last played legit DnD.
I prefer the Shadowrun setting, I like Little Fears, and even when I played DnD I preferred Planescape.
Stay butthurt you got told about a shit movie you shill though I guess.
You absolutely annihilated OP, look at all the triggered replies KEK
This is a good troll considering the HAT bad part is literally just one scene where the bard isn't good in melee combat, like a bard.
Shalom, shills. FLOPPED
no one wants to see Dungeons & Dindus
Literally just watched it. It was fricking stupid. Amusing, but stupid.
Sounds like a good 2000's movie you'd watch for fun and not think much about after.
Simple. Good cast tight script and spend the $$ on effects
Definitely in my top 10 of 2023, probably top 5.
Got a problem with those things? Are you racist?
Got a problem with white people existing and being allowed to maintain their cultural identity? Are you "unable to relate" to people who don't have your skin color? Because that would make you racist. Calling others racist for pointing out cultural appropriation makes you racist. I guess I have my answer, racist.
pol brainrot
No you just have general brainrot, this is shown by how when triggered you immediately start crying about "pol" or "chuds" or one of the other things that makes you feel stupid. Go on, name something that makes you realize the weakness of your arguments and belies or name one of your mental illnesses again,
>words words words
Why does /misc/ feel the need to overload all their memes with everything they hate?
I can ask you the same with your discord friends
What's discord?
Discord is a chatting program or something that triggers chuds because they think only trannies use it.
Oh so it's like here
king
You are the racist here pal to push DIEversity in an European-inspired IP
They got the tone perfect. It was an exciting adventure but still lighthearted and fun, just like an actual D&D campaign.
I watched this after 200hrs of BG3 and was hoping for some kino
It was pozzed and shit
11 nogs.
Cue OP's autistic screeching as these images send him into a 300 post autism fit about "chuds" and "schizos" as they have for over 7,000 threads this year lol.
>Look how many times you've posted these images in threads the hashes prove I made!
>acts like a moron
"no ackshually you are the moron"
>>gets interrupted by a Black person on slotnights every now and then
awesome. 🙁
Michelle Rodriguez is a Black though. Just look at her.
Aaaand there he goes.
And there you are, sticking out like a sore thumb as always with your insincere ancient reactionfaces. Ready to say you're just pretending to be moronic like you alway do when the butthurt sets in?
What does box office performance have to do with literally anything
Call me crazy but I don't think "popular" automatically means "good."
What else is there? Unpopular definitely means bad, and this is definitely unpopular. All the merch sold like shit, the movie bombed. It's a dud.
I'd honestly love a fantasy setting where some rando has sold his soul to some dark god and has access to a car that he has modified into the best war wagon you could ask for, but in return that guy has to plug in random product placement for that car while everyone around him has no fricking clue what he's talking about

Each one was a reply to the same fricking spammer. You know this. This is why you get so butthurt about the screenshots of your spam getting posted and spam false reports.
You just confirmed 200 times you've posted this thread.
>unpopular means bad
Yes, don't be a moron
Unpopular means bad, but popular doesn't mean good, m'kay? It only applies when it fits my narrative!
You have to strawman because you know you can't argue against what I'm actually saying, so I guess your concession is accepted.
Let me know if you come up with a counter to what I actually said.
Because you're not saying much of anything.
>Movie performed poorly financially = bad
>Movie performed successfully = sometimes bad
You haven't said anything to back up your first point, and your second point is trivial.
Also mentioning Lion King is you admitting you are that same black furry btw. Congrats chomping on that bait.
nta but I wanted to see this movie so you're wrong.
And yet the movie BOMBED so you're wrong.
go woke, go broke and clearly the shilling campaign on 4chin did little to help that
What exactly am I wrong about? I liked the movie.
>What exactly am I wrong about?
The movie bombed, the overwhelming majority rejected it.
>I liked the movie.
And homosexuals liked Bros and evangelists liked God's Not Dead. See how worthless "I liked it" is?
I never said the movie was a huge financial success. Who cares if it bombed? I enjoyed watching it.
>Who cares if it bombed?
Everyone but you I guess. Certainly the person you're talking to, potential investors, etc. Again do you have a better suggestion for determine whether or not something is good since we've established reviews are useless? If not you're just bullshitting and trying to assert "I liked it" is an argument in the face of the vast majority not liking it as it bombed.
If I liked it, it is good.
No, because most people hated it. Democracy, more people hated than you. You're one person. Who cares what you think? Nobody, see? That's who. Nobody. That's why it's curtains for you pal, curtains!
Not everyone can have good taste.
Obviously, everyone but you has good taste I guess.
The movie was enjoyable, so everyone who hated it has bad taste.
The movie was unfunny, anti-white, anti-male, promoted female ugliness, inverted gender roles, had shittty inconsistent writing, a generic, forgettable story and was a complete and utter financial bomb. Your taste is shit.
The frick does promoting female ugliness mean you weirdo
https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2023/07/27/the-witcher-casting-director-says-yennefer-casting-was-to-challenge-beauty-standards-which-is-completely-insane/?sh=463ba7cc55f1
tl;dr: They increase the beauty standards for men, keeping them tall, handsome, muscular, etc. But they continually cast uglier, older, fatter, flatter, darker women and they admit this is a conscious, planned effort.
They've stated again and again they want women to be increasingly androgynous.
Doric was hot and pale, and Simon was short and ugly though
Where the frick did I mention The Lion King? Not everybody arguing against your moronic logic is the same person. After all, there are 24 posters in this thread other than you.
Also, people did go see the movie. That's why it made 200 million. And most of those who watched it gave it favorable reviews. This cannot be disputed, or do you think all the reviews are fake?
>Where the frick did I mention The Lion King?
>That's funny, because the last time you made this argument, it was ALWAYS The Lion King.
It's hilarious how you always do this. Trace the replies back, what you're suggesting is "I'm not the person you were replying to, I just chose to jump in and reply to your reply to them at the exact same moment they stopped. I realize I just got owned so now I'm going to try and sidetrack you by getting you to fixate on whether or not I'm the same person because I want to change the subject."
You doing this at all is a complete concession.
Okay, you got me. All 27 IPs are me on different devices. I'm a black furry, and I'm also a white troony apparently. Let me guess, I'm a israelite too?
Anon, you can't be 27 people because 1 of those is me and the other 25 are all shitting on this movie like me.
Duh.
How can you say that reviews are worthless, but the "reaction" to a film impacts whether it's good or not? You're contradicting yourself. Not to mention that "everyone hated Brie Larson" is patently false and just something you pulled out of your ass.
>How can you say that reviews are worthless, but the "reaction" to a film impacts whether it's good or not? You're contradicting yourself.
This strawman image again? *beleaguered sigh*
>it's a strawman because... IT JUST IS OK. I SAW SOMEONE ON TWITTER RATIO IT
You are such a cuckhold. have a nice day
>NOOOOO DON'T CRITICIZE MY VERY CLEVER STRAWMAN IMAGE
Keep crying about it.
>strawman
That's a israelite, idiot
Racist, it does not belong or fit at all
You really cant tell it's a strawman? I'll give you a hint, the point it's trying to make is a against an argument nobody has made.
lmao
verisimilitude, Black person. Populations come from somewhere. An entire medieval fantasy world having the demographics of san francisco does not make sense and no amount of kvetching will change that. I'll just continue not consuming your media and watching it bomb like dnd did.
Yeah, maybe you should go shoot up a school or something instead.
>Black folk in a medieval setting: Fine
>BMW in the same context: REEEEEE
Get fricked, nig loving racist
The car can't exist because there is no such technology in that setting. This has been explained a million times.
There's no such thing as heterogeneous populations of hobbits, elves, or dwarves in that setting, either.
There is tho
>His strawman defense is another strawman
At least you're consistent
It's a measure of how much the trailer connected with audiences. The reviews and reactions from the people that saw it is literally the measure of how much it connected with audiences. You can think it's shit and that's fine but if you're talking about how much people actually enjoyed it you should go by the critics and audience reaction. The ones who didn't watch have no opinion either way.
>The movie bombed, hard because no one liked it
>Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is one of the year's biggest box office hits. Placing sixth globally at the time of writing, it has grossed $202.48 million worldwide, with $90.88 million of that coming from domestic audiences.
So 50m in profit is a bomb?
>not factoring in marketing to the budget
>ignoring the fact that US box offices take half the ticket price, and box offices abroad take even more
I enjoy shills frothing at the mouth to deny basic mathematical reality. Objectively, the film lost money.
So without any actual numbers that's just conjecture isn't it?
You don't even need to factor in the budget cost and the movie, objectively, lost money. You just need to take out the half (minimum) of the ticket price that the box offices took.
That doesn't even make sense anon but you do you.
I know you're not such a dumb Black person that you think movie theaters don't get any portion of the ticket sales... right? You're either a dumb gorilla Black person who does not understand how box offices work, or you're summarized perfectly in
So you’re a dark skinned gentleman is what you’re saying? Got it
The box office number is after the theatre cut.
Everything! That's the ONLY thing that decides the quality of the movie according to this moron. Of course, by that logic, lots of shitty Transformers and F&F sequels would be among the best movies ever made.
It's hilarious how you pretend you're a different person, yet every fricking thread you word for word make the same autistic argument lmfao. Your black autistic furry ass ALWAYS specifically names the Transformers. Every fricking with this absolute piece of shit lmfao.
That's funny, because the last time you made this argument, it was ALWAYS The Lion King. You can't even keep up with your own shitposting.
You've said Lion King as well yes, usually with your cringe Scar reactionimage, that's what got you to admit you're a furry remember? But you've also said Transformers before. "THING I DON'T LIKE MADE MONEY!" isn't an argument lol.
Why did they lie? Edgin was unquestionably the main character and all others yielded to his authority.
Stop gaslighting, Doric gives an entire speech abot how he's useless. He's insulted and shit on the entire movie. He gives speech about what a terrible father he is. His one thing is coming up with plans and even Holga upstages him at that by coming up with the plan to use the portal staff to get into the vault.
I feel like this is a female and beta opinion of what masculinity is. Shit talking a man while following his orders doesn’t mean you’re emasculating him. He used other’s strength and wits in addition to his own to accomplish his ends. He may have endured some petty comments from his (subordinate) teammates along the way, but he was looked to as the leader consistently.
They looked at him as weak and useless. This is stated over and over and over. You don't disrespect your leader like that. The way they treat him is proof he isn't a leader. This is such pathetic gaslighting. Is this pathetic, weak beta simply how you see yourself?
Men don't fantasize about being weak pathetic losers, you sick femdom homosexual. You know I'm right, you know that's who and what you are. You never deny it lol.
I feel you you haven’t watched the movie. Watch it and come back to the thread when you’re prepared to contribute to the conversation.
That or you’re an ethnic who has some muh respect view on masculinity.
Either way, shoo
Stop gaslighting, I watched the shitty fricking film twice (pirated.) First on a screener and then in 4k. It's garbage, quit lying about what's in it to shill.
>gaslighting
I don't think that word means what you think it means
Everyone did shit on him true, but practically speaking he was the most important/capable character even if he never received recognition for it.
All I hear is "cope cope cope gaslight beta bullshit I am weak and wear a cage on my dick".
>Try to emasculate and create useless white male characters.
Because of that become the most popular and memorable characters with flaws and development.
>Empowered female and minority characters.
The stoic and spotless holier than you attitude makes them boring, wooden, annoying, extremely forgettable
>Avatar does it
"Lmao who cares, you snowflakes just look for shit to be offended by!"
>DnD does
NOOOOOO THIS DIFFERENT! I DIDNT CARE BEFORE BUT NOW I DO FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON
trust me buddy we know why you suddenly care.
>avatar "whitewashes"
>universally shit on by the popular media machine
>dnd fills a euro setting with brown people
>yes this is good and normal
hmm what could the difference possibly be, israelite?
Um, cool it with the antisemitism, ok? Thanks.
>It's ok when we're the ones being hypocritical
*Yawn*
>we
every post you people make has this mob mentality behind it. Are you incapable of making an argument without imagining a group of people supporting you?
Kek you just did it right now
>attacking a group and imagining a group supporting you are the same thing
Black folk can't comprehend what they read, what else is new.
>"If that was bad, why isn't this also bad?"
>STOP BEING A HYPOCRITE CHUD
You argue like a israelite. Either race swapping is bad or it isn't.
That wasn't me
You’re israeli? Ok go off I guess
This. Nobody here ever complained about the whitewashing of Avatar here, but when the whiteys get replaced, it's suddenly a problem. You could just switch the reactions for both series and it applies to the other side.
what makes avatar dumb is its an american creation that people think is asian for some reason
>There are no Asian Americans
Bold take, but a based one nonetheless.
>mutts write a story
>its based on asia among other things
>therefore you have to cast asian mutts living in america for it
that makes even less sense
>Based on Asia
>"Why do people think there should be Asians in it?!"
It's like you're not even listening to why the schizo is mad in this thread
>it's not asian, it just needs to be filled with asians
Same with the DnD movie
Nobody thinks avatar is Asian, what the frick are you talking about.
so why can’t white people be in it
I haven’t seen the second one but I distinctly remember whites in the first one. Regardless, why would that make it Asian?
>Incompetent directors couldn't even keep the race of their characters straight lol.
>We want that modern movie look,
>frick having colors and shit (except blacks/browns ofc.)
I hope she gets a bigger role in the sequel.
The sequel the voices in your head told you about?
Sorry sweety, confirmed dead lol, cry. Guess you really wanted to see Sophia make out with an ugly goblinoid, freak.
Nta but:
>"I've heard some rumors about it," he tells us of a potential follow-up. "But I don't know anything yet. But I feel pretty confident that it may happen." When we ask if he'd be happy to return, Pine responds: "Absolutely."
>I've heard rumors but I don't know anything
So nothing. NO SEQUEL CONFIRMED LMFAO.
This is what every loser actor dropped from a dead franchise says. Alicia Vikkander said the same shit when they cancelled her sequel.
Also this:
>Speaking with Variety, Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins suggested a Dungeons & Dragons movie sequel is still on the table. However, he acknowledged its budget would need to be a reduction on the $150 million spent on Honor Among Thieves. "We've got to figure out a way to make it for less," he said.
>suggested
>still on the table
So again, NOTHING? Lmfao. Remember when it was supposed to be a TV series? Saying "it could happen" to a movie is confirming the series is DEAD. Lmfao.
>movie was already cheap looking
>a sequel is possible if we make it even cheaper
Pine isn't hopeful though. He's confident. And hes much bigger and been in the biz longer and at much higher level than that literal who. Cope.
SOPH A CUTE
I got a big role for her… my penis. The big role is my penis, if you know what I mean.
Okay, israelite.
It was great, hope there's a sequel (and maybe have decent trailers this time so people don't confuse it for a marvel-tier quipfest and avoid it).
Shit movie, shit thread
It was the right amount of fun.
Imagine
How's the sex? I can't imagine it being any good for either of them. He's gonna be too small for her and she's gonna be too big for him.
there's a reason he gives back the walking stick because he never uses it, he has a natural walking stick if you get my meaning, and that's why the big ladies love him
I wouldn't know I'm 27 and have never had sex
don't, otherwise you lose out on wizard powers, I am 25 and holding on strong but if I being honest its not that hard
I'm 27 as well and it's overrated. Being with someone you love isnt though. And I mean actually love, not just some cute hole who will talk to you.
>violent dilation
Go back to your containment board troon:
op is a mentally ill fricktard
but who keeps replying to him?
You have proven him right and especially by using the caricature of a israelite
it's actually john oliver
sorry but your d&d skinned israelite/Black person grievance study will not be getting a sequel, hire less israelites next time
Oh look the same two schizos are still fighting about this movie.
>game bard: hyper competent skill monkey
>movie bard: useless white male and anti-family globalist propaganda
ITT; millenials rationalizing why their white nerd hobby is now filled with Black folk, troons and non big tiddy women
i thought it was great. One of the better dungeons and dragons stories probably the same level as BG 2 and 3.
It's tied with the first one for worst D&D movie. Both direct to dvd movies were better.
*ding ding ding ding*
Yes, yes, we all hate nogs.
> wokeslop
> right
Blacks cannot be paladins because they have no moral codes or any codes really
Great acting fun scenes modeled after all American entertainment similar to Guardians
>almost 150 posts, only 31 posters
i can smell the people behind the shilling of this garbage, redditors and Cinemaphileermins (europoors)
they are also shilling BG3 on /v, that game with trannies, gays and zoophilia
I think it's one group. The posts are the same every thread, same images, same arguments, same gaslighting, and by the end of the thread they always get frustrated and insanely childish. For a while I thought they were coming from r/moviecirclejerk because I've seen screenshots of them sperging out about Cinemaphile posts before, but maybe it's some discord or something. Every single time it's the exact same assertions.
Also, a reminder, the person who makes these threads admitted once he also makes the Simu threads and is a proud pedophile:
Half of the posts are the usual schizo posts and images.
Nobody is shilling this garbage. They're just baiting that one guy.
>so right
It flopped, fricking moron
>Look how they massacred my boys...
Mogged by a car commercial.
Nothing.
What made this movie in particular mindbreak a guy so hard? There are hundreds of these woke hollywood slops, so why this one?
>What made this movie in particular mindbreak a guy so hard?
You mean to make him remake the same thread thousands of times? I'd say it's the film's profound and total failure. The death of your ideology. Same reason you spam those frog pictures in every thread you post your woke anti-white moron spew. Your inferiority is what broke you.
There's no way this guy is actually this mad, right? He's just shitposting, r-right?
>mods filtered his images so he needs to spam a different board to make his point
No, all images of posting histories get reported as "spam" regardless of who posts them. But hyperlinking to them is fine. This is why you don't do it anymore either, we both know this homosexual.
But your admission in mentioning this is that none of the other images I post are spam. Eat shit.
THE RIDE NEVER ENDS
You really hate nogs, huh? It's okay, everyone does lol. You're so fricking worthless.
Damn, your life really sucks huh?
Mine's awesome, project more about how shit yours is though, feel free.
“No u no u no u no u”
Pitiful
I'm no racist, but goddamn this guy is really punchable.
He's literally fricked in the head. I wouldn't be surprised if he's sitting with his family dead around him.
Michelle pegged his dad and he got jealous it wasn't him.
Probably his mentall illness kicked in at the same time as this movie was in theaters.
This isnt even a woke movie for 2023 hollywood standards, so i cant find any logical conclusion but some coincidence.
>european fantasy, half the main characters are Black folk
>not woke
>European fantasy
>Game is made by amerimutts
lmao
>castles, elves, dragons
Ah yes, quintessential American folklore, there.
I'm peaceful 🙂 I'll peacefully watch your slop bomb 🙂 no sequel 🙂
Still the game (and the movie) is made in USA. They will never be European, kys for suggesting they can, you dumb schizo.
Tame Impala's ending song
WE ARE NUMBER ONE
IT IS CLEAR TO US NOW
DO YOU FEEL THE WINGS OF TIME
DO YOU FEEL A SENSE OF PRIDE NOW
Let's be honest, how many of us have made this topic before just to bait the skitzo moron?
Only one of us have. It's all the same guy. He's even got evidence, apparently.
Ah, got you to the point you're seething, you're officially in the "speak of him in the third person, project your own mental illness and claim you were just pretending to be moronic" stage.
Protip: The voices in your head aren't other people.
What is that top picture from? That little dark elf thing looks cute.
5e characters.
So, the trailer that makes it look like Guardians of galaxy was about as misleading as Suicide Squad trailer?
It's definitely trying to be GotG, it's just less funny or charming and it's fantasy instead of sci-fi.
They even tried to make that one guy autistic who can't understand metaphors like Drax, but the joke just didn't work at all
Reposting a suggestion that they keep the same actors but make completely new characters so that it seems like a D&D group doing a new one shot. Infinitely repeatable.
There's also a suggestion for climbing power via increasing the levels of the same characters, but it seems like it'll be a slope into Marvel slop so I'm not a fan
Should be different characters and cast. Just a completely different adventure.
same actors different characters unironically a great idea and a fun gimmick for a series but:
no post credits scene bullshit
no breaking the 4th wall.
Just play it completely straight and have some faith that the audience can be in on the joke without having to spell it out for them. Also have a sexy black dragon.
These are the best threads on Cinemaphile I LOVE YOU SCHIZOANON
HES WORKING OVERTIME TO KEEP US GIGGLING
Sporadic reminder on how shills argue. Take heart, the world is getting tired of their shit.
I'm sure people make these threads just to bait the schizo
You think we would be that petty? On Cinemaphile.co.uk?
Yes.
I find that offensive and an insult to our character and integrity.
It's a shame any sequel will have the woke crap dialed up to 11 and will sideline Pine for some mystery meat girlboss.
they understood that D&D, at its heart, is fundamentally a goofy comedy game about cheesing and abusing the mechanics of the game and world, and the fantasy and story is secondary.
that's not how you play the game at all and if you've ever played like that the DM should, in all good conscience, fricking eradicate you and the other players should ostracise you.
i have been playing and DMing for 25 years. you literally do not know what you are talking about
Casting against type - world weary protagonist Chris Pine, Hugh Grant as an actor familiar to boomers as the villain who would otherwise facepalm at another loud fantasy movie. They perfectly cornered the tropes of the series without punching down and made a fun movie similar to the first Guardians of the Galaxy.
>It's based on Europe, a very multicultural continent
>Noooooo, you can't just have people of colour in it!
???
Subtle pit-fu, druid's outfit had little pit pockets and sexy barbarian had hairy pits like it made sense for her to.
But neither was played up at all, just occurring every now and again
Kino
Will you live-stream your suicide when they announce the sequel?
>movie bombs so hard a sequel doesn't make sense
I've won
>a sequel is made anyways wasting even more money
I win even harder? Why be upset about a israelite burning some of his petty cash?
Hmm no you’ve still lost, sounds like you’re projecting man
>Movie bombs so hard they make a sequel
Would be a first
white person practicing martial arts: extremely problematic, delete from all american media including avatar and mortal kombat
yasuke: give this Black person a cartoon and aaa video game right now!!!
>Product is genuinely good
>Gets shit on, on Cinemaphile because Blacks
>Fat dragons, magic battles and a jb that can morph into animals = immersion fine
>Non whites in the cast = immersion destroyed, must shit post in every thread
Do you legitimately have a problem with other people enjoying something?
>product is genuinely good
That's not really a response, anon.
black characters for black actors
asian characters for asian actors
european characters for everyone
also if it’s an anime or fake american anime all the cast has to be asian no matter the character
My favorite movie since Mad Max Fury Road.
I liked the film. I thought it was cool that even though Chris Pine was a bard he never casts magic, makes him feel more like a rogue who happens to play a lute, which fits in with his backstory as a former Harper
