IMO it was mediocre at best and really disappointing after Boondocks. The guy who plays Black Jesus was perfect, but the show was just low-effort and dull because Aaron McGruder became a lazy stoner.
I liked it, but key cast died sadly, and yeah it was really only mediocre at best. Pretty Little Face was OK but honestly, most of AS's love action shows fall flat of their faces

yeah i remember watching the premiere of rick and morty and thinking it was ok but that it probably was still just gunna end up another forgotten cancelled AS show, then i saw the simulation episode with jerry when it aired, and the cronenberg episode where they killed themselves, and they kind of convinced me that the show might actually be a little special, but it still struck me as a pretty niche AS show.
the show just kind of inexplicably blew up in popularity after season 2. it just struck me as plane odd suddenly having everyone talking about this AS show that came out a couple years ago i figured few people watched and had probably been cancelled by then.

Black Jesus was really good
IMO it was mediocre at best and really disappointing after Boondocks. The guy who plays Black Jesus was perfect, but the show was just low-effort and dull because Aaron McGruder became a lazy stoner.

All the bumpers had a sort of grungy aesthetic to it all from the visuals to the music/audio, which gave it a special kind of appeal. For a while, the best part of AS was the live streams that didn't even get aired. There were whole shows made by the staff that felt like a real community. Eventually, it is sad to say, went to shit, with a bunch of f-tier "personalities" trying to dominate all discourse, and eventually they all got fired anyways.
