there's really only two or three funny scenes, intentional or otherwise
beyond that it's a boring action movie with characters you as the viewer have no way of developing a connection with because of the schizophrenic edits and time jumps

TLA was at least enjoyably funny in how shitty it was. Soosigh Skwah was bad but worse it was boring. If you’ve seen Avatar you can at least enjoy TLA for fricking up so severely. The entire oil rig prison episode gets condensed to a single scene where the Earthbenders are imprisoned in a QUARRY and they’re just too bummed and sad to break out until Aang tells them they can literally throw all the rocks at their captors. I was laughing my ass off through the entire break out

It's one of the worst examples of a design-by-committee movie. The soundtrack choices, comic relief moments, character designs and costumes, all of it screams of studio interference.

I think any version of this film that could have been released would have sucked. David Ayer did a lot of weird shit, especially the Joker interpretation. I still think Ayer's original vision could have been in line with all the other DC movies at the time, just alright but not great. In terms of character, there are some shining moments like Diablo and Deadshot. Considering Diablo is the type of character Ayer typically works with, it makes sense that's where he is shining the most.
Should have been rated R with loads of blood and gore. Did they even curse in this movie? lol Some villians they are.

I saw a review that raised a great point. They needed to introduce the rest of their squad in their own movies before doing this one. That's what Marvel did with Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor. That way we are more invested and 10 different character backgrounds aren't crammed into one movie along with the main plot.
