Too early to judge.
They wrote it in 2020, then released it three years later while pretending it was still current-year humor.
They what?
How come nobody pirated it before?
Are you moronic or just illiterate?
The first
Yarr yarr freeddle dee dee
Being a pirate is alright to be
Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free
You are a pirate
Wrote it, moron.
They couldn't make it until now due le chinkflu.
like animaniacs making orange man jokes when Biden was already the president lol
This. The next season might be better it wasn't awful. Could've been 15th season sunny bad.
not funny enough to justify its existence
Why can't fans just let things rest?
Is it the fans fault? I never see anyone ever asking for more of this shit. It's disgusting that every time they want to end the series, it ends on a wholesome note that they have to scribble over when they end up continuing.
Yeah many fans have asked for a revival for years.
>ends on a wholesome note
Leela and Fry shippers always say this, but the rest of the crew was permanently stuck with witnessing a never ending time loop
Or I mean in a never ending time loop
eitherway it was literally only Fry and Leela with some form of happy ending
Futurama has the most agreed on ending of any tv show ever. Nobody asked for this reboot.
Reboots were unnecessary
Id watch them go at it
Sauce??
The crypto episode was decent, but clearly dated.
>called it micro bitcoin and not satoshi
>btc halving happening before 3023
>professor "hurrdurr it is a ponzi scheme, which is why i bought the top"
they didnt even do research for this stupid episode. and they turned fry into a cuck. but it did have a few funny moments. the bipolar chick was easily the best part.
***final btc halving happening before 3023..
It was a clusterfrick
>The professor is in crypto debt let's go to the old west
>Hermes is struggling to relate to his son and also Leela is an old timey hooker and there's a bipolar bar owner and Amy is panning for gold and zoidberg is the town doctor and bender has a donkey and fry is hanging out with a comic book cowboy and Roberto is the town villain and oh look benders doing a song and hermes' son is hanging out with Roberto now and the bipolar bar owner is kidnapping robots and..
So it’s family guy now?
it's was trash, at least it wasn't woke
>The crypto episode was decent
it's one of the worst episodes of Futurama imho
It didn't need to be revived the first time, let alone the 2nd. Does anyone really want to watch episodes about COVID-3019 or Robo-Trump
Zapp Branigan would be the stand in for Trump
This show has literally run out of ideas. It's actually more of a zombie show than the Simpsons by this point.
Only watched the first ep of the new season but it was Zombo Futurama. Billy West sounds like he’s passing. Gay Hulu jokes, moronic snooze fest. Wish they’d put this putrid show out of its misery. Everything after the movies stink like shit
The movies were shit too. Show hasn't been good since Fox cancelled it
first revival was already weaker than the original run. had its moments but inconsistent. my expectations were already low for this
i laughed when hermes son was mimicking roberto
I liked the new episodes that have come out so far. Hopefully they won't shit the bed.
Midwit take. you could have pasted the plot onto any other cartoon and it would have still been soul-less filth
Ok.
Futurama is such an odd show. Back when it was airing, it was something I had no problem watching. Rewatched it recently when AS picked it up again and started seeing all the faults. Not just the Simpsons-tier pop-culture references despite being a thousand years in the future, but the how much time you go between laughing. It's bad as a comedy. It's basically the Cleveland Show, but somehow it got popular.
I think it's because the setting and genre fill the gap. Venture Bros is great despite not being joke after joke because the adventure aspect fills the gaps.
makes me worried for the married with children reboot, every woke thing has been done to death, that im not sure al bundy could still make funny
venture bros sucks
good news, you can always have a nice day and be spared from experiencing it
Happy Spanicopica!
Venture Brothers has likeable characters. The only characters I like on Futurama are Zap and Dr. Zoidberg and they're both basically gags. I have always found the rest of the cast (especially Fry) to be unfunny and annoying.
>to be unfunny and annoying
That's Bender
And the Professor, and Lela, and Amy, and every one-off character they ever did, and the heads in jars...
>Zapp
Billy West is getting too old for this shit. Zapp sounded super old and tired in this last episode.
I've seen maybe 20 episodes in my life. Haven't watched one in years. I just really don't enjoy the core cast.
Why are you even in this thread then? Just so you can look like an ignorant homosexual? Mission accomplished chief.
What am I ignorant of?
>Venture Brothers has likeable characters
You are a filthy liar.
>popular
>always cancelled or preempted by football
Futurama excelled at setting up great quotes. Even if the whole episode was terrible, there’s be one or two scenes that’s stick with you.
>implying handegg wasn't moronicly popular back then
It was bound to happen. Most shows going against prime time games were set up for failure.
My point is futurama was never that popular.
It really only took off with DVD sales.
It and family guy make fox go holy shit, why aren’t we making more of these.
And unlike family guy, futurama had the same writers, so they stuck to what they knew.
Chances are the OG writers hired morons for Futurama. Like phoning it in, same as the actors. Family Guy was trying to be too "smart" for its first run then dumbed down when it came back. Futurama always seemed defined by the end of the first cancelation, family guy really didn't I think.
Fox is moronic for an infinite list of reasons but guess I have to be happy they gave it a chance. Of all shows though, I am pissed it had to be Futurama. We're getting zombie episodes regardless so maybe we could've had some more good ones.
Fox was moronic to put the show on at 7PM on Sundays.
>Not just the Simpsons-tier pop-culture references despite being a thousand years in the future
I like the show, but the celebrity references were something I really hated about it. It's a thousand years in the future, but it's filled with celebrities from the 2000's. Not even futuristic/sci-fi parody versions. Just straight up the exact same celebrities from the 2000's. They had waaaaay too many heads in jars.
>waaaaay too many heads in jars
Truth.
voice actors sound 100 now
Who'd they end up making a homo?
How woke is that?
Can i watch it without being lectured?
Is Ermes still a character or he will face the Apu trial?
>Can i watch it without being lectured?
You couldn't do that since the Comedy Central revival
>the gender swapping episode
Comedy central was ahead of the times on the troony debate.
Not super woke yet. The second episode actually had a theme about the importance of family and how it sucks to be away from them. The crypto episode is very lazy tho, still not woke just midwits take on crypto.
I don't get how you can have an infinite number of settings and plots available to you since the entire universe is your show and they haven't had any new ideas for the past two reboots and instantly went to late 20something season Simpsons tier shit.
>dude, thing that happened several years ago that's already dated by now it happened in like 3018 instead of 2018 get it????
Rick and morty ruined futurama
Rick and morty is a far superior show at this point. Which is a shame because it wasn’t until the reboot. Sure r&m has some cringe millennial writers but futurama’s current writers are straight up boomers way past their prime.
Pandemics do happen every 100 years so it wouldn't be unheard to have one 1,000 in the future. But the writers are so fricking lazy they probably named the virus "Schmovid" and had Dr. Farnsworth cure it with the "Smauchi Vaccine". And everyone who opposed the vaccine was a dumb redneck.
>Pandemics do happen every 100 years
Sure they do
I'm not into the "dude current thing lmao" plotlines, but I thought a lot of the jokes were pretty good
Including current event anything in your material instantly dates it and just reeks of lazy writing.
Only saw the two first episodes of the revival. They were decent, but nothing special.
It's OK. Nothing surprising, just enjoyable Futurama. Too fast-paced for me, but still has it's typical humour.
They caved to the Apu shit and got some low energy beta asian to voice Leo Wong.
>They caved to the Apu shit and got some low energy beta asian to voice Leo Wong.
The character that was in like 4 episodes of the original series? Who gives a shit about his voice?
Billy West made the character funny with the way he talked.
cuck
>Who gives a shit
The fans, you know, the people theyre claiming to be making this for.
What's wrong with having a thick accent? Asian people really sound like Leo.
>totally okay for Lauren Tom to do a stereotypical Asian voice for Inez Wong
>NOT OK for Billy West to do it for Leo
Liberal sensibilities are destroying art
> Who gives a shit about his voice?
Fringe homosexual leftists that deserve bullets to the fricking head in Minecraft.
I literally right now work with an old man originally from Burma who sounds even more stereotypical than Leo did when he speaks English. These morons are such homosexuals.
Barbados Slim is voiced by a white guy, they going to change that too?
1 > 2 > 3
Episode 1 was decent, made me laugh a couple of times.
Episode 2 was awful but I liked the themes, if someone told me it was written by AI I would have said "man, AI fricking sucks", so lazy and uninspired.
Episode 3 was just a mess and simply not funny, maybe it have to do with the fact that I didn't understand much of it but this never stopped me from enjoying a Futurama episode before, just bad.
>what went wrong?
bad writers
