Seaon 1-2 didn't have a single female writer so they hired 4 lackluster female writers to replace those writers who jumped ship to do Marvel movies then let them go hog wild on a few eps(Dragon Episode, Horse Sperm) that were largely badly received.
>Dan Harmon >female writers >"lol gorey action" in place of actual jokes >Morty is too desensitized at this point to crazy shit, no longer any contrast between him and Rick >Beth and Jerry will they/wont they plots are tired and moronic, and now brought back to full force because Space Beth is a recurring character >tries too hard to come up with new meme characters (Noob Noob, Mr Nimbus)
Take your pick
It would be cool if each Beth started fighting over Jarry's approval and he had three ways with him and stuff. Just to add an interesting dynamic. it would be really funny cause it would make everyone uncomfortable but for different reasons.
I think often the comedy and story of the show come into conflict. Though as the seasons progressed they definitely did a better job of integrating the two.
It went up its own ass. The show's tone has completely become cynical and sarcastic. It's one thing if Rick acts like he's above it all but other characters started acting like him too. The show hates itself, it hates the wacky scenarios it puts on tv, and it hates you for watching it.
2. Too much plot getting in the way of being funny.
3. Lazy writing just making Rick be an omnipotent reality warper rather than an actual Scientist who makes things happen by actually doing Science.
4. Depicting Rick as an awful piece of shit but that he is right about everything, glamorizing his shittiness.
That last one is actually kind of dangerous, since now we have a generation of diabolical morons who now mistakenly believe that their being horrible ass holes means they must be geniuses.
The typical "it got popular" shark jumping in which the quality dips to appeal to their new wider, normie audience. See: Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, more than likely Squid Game season 2 even though there shouldn't even be a season 2
The new fanbase were on Rick's side and were mistaken in the whole point and moral of the show, and the writers didn't like that so they seriously started to drum it in and work up just how awful Rick is and how much you should hate him.
New writers
Strong focus on Summer without expanding on her character.
Timelord Jessica
Overpowered Rick.
Caved into the fanbase's worst ideas(incest baby)
Alky is as alky does.
Having grown up around booze hounds, I simply don't find them funny no matter who or where they are.
But that's just my subjective position.
fear of committing to anything
Explain
FPBP, even something like Smiling Friends will commit sometimes
Nothing its a funny show
Hi, Dan
the fanbase grew to idolize rick and threw a tantrum when the series started painting him as the flawed, troubled character he is
The writing team for seasons 1 and 2 got replaced for the sake of diversity.
Seriously?
Seaon 1-2 didn't have a single female writer so they hired 4 lackluster female writers to replace those writers who jumped ship to do Marvel movies then let them go hog wild on a few eps(Dragon Episode, Horse Sperm) that were largely badly received.
>"Smartest man in the Universe"
>can't win a twitter argument with a 15 year old mcdonalds employee
Counter culture became the culture, same thing happened to Simpsons.
no improv after season 2

Mr "He controls the police" Nimbus and Garbage Goober we're gold
They were both shit but of course they appeal to the lowest common denominator like yourself.
I think often the comedy and story of the show come into conflict. Though as the seasons progressed they definitely did a better job of integrating the two.
Nothing. The show is good and you only stopped liking it when it became too popular for you to stand
that kid jumped up on a counter in mcdonalds and shouted "I want my schezuan sauce!"

> Rick sanchez is the smartest man in the universe
The Show died at the very instant this was taken at face value

Every addition to the writing team after S2 was unqualified.
I really liked it when Rick was a crazy drunk scientist doing stupid shit.
Semi-related question: Why is alcoholism somehow deemed to be a humorous trait in cartoon characters?
I mean yea man my drunk uncle is really annoying but it's funny to see someone like a scientist, who's supposed to be smart, act like a jack ass.
Alky is as alky does.

It just burned out quickly, not every show needs 10+ seasons
Adding a sitcom family element to Doc and Marty was the first mistake.
