Following up a wildly popular show is insanely difficult and anything he could possibly create is going to be hated by a lot of people either for not being similar enough to GF, or for being too similar.

hopefully with the industry collapsing and remote work becoming more normalized, we'll see the decentralization of the media that we should have in the first place. If you live in buttfrick alabama but you happen to have what it takes to make good shit, you should be able to make good shit. in a better world Alex would have gotten fired off of the show after Season 1 and it gets the full 3 seasons and a movie it should have gotten under the direction of someone not an unreliable weirdo like Alex Hirsch

When did Cinemaphile turn into twitter?
Too busy complaining about how bad "the mouse" that gave him his own show is
Alex is an annoying liberal homosexual with a bad work ethic who b***hes and complains about everything. He is extremely similar to Dana, his girlfriend he cheated on. Just like Dana b***hed about Disney WHILE WORKING FOR THEM, Alex did the same, while also having a bad combination of poor work ethic, perfectionism, and ego. Alex has talked a LOT about this. Lots of interviews, comics, ect. Alex is talented yes, and he makes good stuff because he’s a perfectionist, but he takes fricking FOREVER to finish his shit. Last minute deadlines, as in the day before or the day off. Alex HATES working, and he b***hes about Disney (until he shuts his mouth so he can get some work). He’s stuck in the past not only living the high off gravity falls but also the constant praise and adoration from the fanbase.
John K isn't a perfectionist, he's a revolutionary who still defines the industry with his innovations. He praised things like Yogi Bear.
so...he was a john k? i watched gravity falls when i was 15 (when it came out) but i never really understood the behind-the-scenes stuff.
His drawing is way too crummy to be like John. He picked up ideas from John K's blog like thousands of other artists and it eventually seeped out of his head.
>Dana, his girlfriend he cheated on
Is it really cheating if it was an open relationship? She apparently knew, she just didn't know how young the girl was compared to him.
All the crunch time and sleepless nights spent at the studio to work on Gravity Falls was 100% Alex's fault. He did it because he was a perfectionist, not because Disney asked him to make sure every single fricking line of dialogue was gold. There are funny shows out there that managed to have a good script written without working their crew to death. This isn't some "creator always knows what's right!" nonsense, this is just an inexperienced guy who was figuring out his style of humor while he was writing it.
He keeps pushing this weird narrative that Disney robbed him of his sanity when so many problems were self-inflicted. He didn't need to fight every fricking S&P note, it's obvious he has a problem with authority.
This. disney could say frick off to alex and keep doing GF without him, like basically any network, but instead they respected his decision
i hate when people refer to GF as needing to 'continue' it's as bad as proposing half-life 3, instead of half-life 2 episode 3
we don't want GF to continue, we want season 2 to be longer. and have its own finale. and then season 3 to be the second half of season 2, but longer. technically, this could be accomplished, with a bunch more episodes that take place in the middle, to even things out. as far as i know, no show has ever done this. but it should.

It would definitely be messier, but it would be worth it. And yeah I'm a little surprised we haven't seen this done before as well. Would be a perfect way to get more money which Disney sorely needs.
Even by his own admitino Alex said he procrastinated a lot and did everything at the last hour, which considering he was the guy steering the ship you can imagine those issues would trickle down to his crew.
why is Cinemaphile so obsessed with him? did you guys have some parasocial relationship with him on twitter growing up? plenty of Cinemaphile creators didn't make another show after their first hit. it's very common.
he feels the most like us. he's literally my age, he was so excited to work with Matt Chapman, and the show was really good and refreshing. He and Pen Ward, they both feel like literally me.
But both of them are too much like me, in that they don't have the kind of work ethic that lets you do hard stuff all the time. and the networks are bad. and i'm sure i'd be brainwashed too if I stayed in california.
They just talk about the people that are actually interesting in a personal level. No one is talking about Joel G or David Firth because they don't get into any dramas.

you.. are aware the entertainment industry has a lot of israelites, right?
because it was considered a trashy, unseemly profession, suited only for them. But history repeats itself, and every time you put a heavier yoke on the hebrews, God has them proper, to indicate he exists. Feel like a lot of people miss that point.
> because it was considered a trashy, unseemly profession, suited only for them
Yes and no. The real reason why the “Jews run Hollywood” meme exists has more to with the history israeli immigrants in the United States.
Life for all immigrants was tough in the slums of the big cities, so these new Americans worked hard to get them or their kids out of there. Some worked hard to create their own small business, other joined the government, others went to college, and some went into the movie business, and before LA became the capital of the film industry, that title went to NYC, the same city that had become a giant melting pot of immigrants. So of course many of the early film moguls and filmmakers like The Warners or The Fleischer Bros where israelites. And it wasn’t just israelites; if you look at the credits in many film productions specially in animated films you will find plenty of Italians and Irishmen, Joe Barbera from Hannah Barbera was one of those Italians and he came from the rough streets of Little Italy. Meanwhile the small mom and pop theaters ran by the israelites started to grow and soon they fled NYC to LA (which was mostly known for its oil fields) to escape the Edison film monopoly. It was in LA where they became powerful and wealthy, this is really where the meme was born. Even tho this was Hollywood the industry was still run by people from NYC, from all walks of life, the only exception was Disney.
Today, this meme is hardly true anymore, yea there are israelites who run major studios, but as the free market has become more globalized so too has Hollywood, with new non-israelite moguls like Rupert Murdoch and Kenichiro Yoshida not to mention all the Chinese business men with money tied to the film industry.
well yes those are factors too. I thought that went without saying.
like if I talked about how banking was something people sneered at, not unlike today, and that was why israelites got into that and once again prospered and helped lots of people build businesses via loans. I wouldn't need to mention the history of islamic anti-interest laws or the american wild west and how those tied in, that's esoteric
as esoteric as these two guys. like what even was their deal? They barely participated or had any characteristics. any other show, the teen friend group would have been just the other 4. and their designs are so deliberate, I have to think they're based on someone.
>Hirsch is mixed, being israeli from his father side >Sugar came from a israeli family >Terrance came a white catholic background
Where the you got that weird jump? There are no articles where she expressed she had israeli ancestry.
All I'd really suggest is that season 2 maybe should have had a couple more episodes, in order to properly build up both the kids relationship with Ford, getting proper closure with some of the other townsfolk, and, most importantly, giving weirdmageddon a bit more time to be set up-executed so it didn't feel as rushed as it was.
the noble Sir Alex the Bald was supposed to bridge the gap between cartoon fans and creators... instead he screeched about politics, blocked people for asking show-related questions, weaponized his own followers, and used company trademarked material to peddle abortions.
but aside from everything, he is sort of a one-trick pony, and at that it was mostly Matt Chapman's style of humor nor his that bled through on Gravity Falls and made it "work" (all Alex knows how to do is Family Guy tier "remember that 80s thing?" humor and really bad/outdated political takes). all his projects since then Hirsch was kept behind the scenes and even then in the case of Inside Job he was quietly fired because he was an even worse producer than he was showrunner.
as much as you're definitely right about parts of that, it's important you acknowledge that you don't (and can't) know most of this. because by your own assertion, nobody knows about it.
Looking through Alex's socials has taught me a lot on why comedians often lose their funny, and especially comedy cartoons often drift into the realm of repetitiveness and "in-jokes" that the general audience tunes out. He's always making these unfunny jokes, posting these dorky pictures, or just plain having bad takes (his most recent post is mocking some Amerifat politician dying, very tasteful) that his followers kiss his butt for. You see it happen with George Lucas, or even other cartoonists that became larger than life like Butch Hartman, Dan Povenmire, and Genndy.... there is no one in the writing room brave enough to tell them that spamming the 900th Crocker or Doof joke during the episode isn't funny. This is why Alex has "lost it" as well, he was completely unreceptive of criticism and seemed to almost build into his weaknesses as a cartoonist rather than his strengths.
uhh Dan is still definitely pretty funny..
and in fairness, as much as there are always asskissers who frick up your ability to take criticism, there are always at least 23% more buttholes giving unconstructive criticism and making the problem way worse.
first of all, everything flops now
secondly, they haven't
third, haven't you seen the lil videos he's putting on youtube? he's still funny.. and he's such a DAD.
>first of all, everything flops now
And why does that happen to begin with? In fact, if everything flops, then a good show made by them should have much less competence rather than just joining the club, right?
>why does that happen
buncha reasons. it's difficult to be the only good show in a sea of crap, nobody's watching and nobody's gonna wade through all of that >if everything flops then a good show should have less competence rather than joining the club
please rephrase this, I don't understand
>Similar Work ethics >Hirsch had perfectionism tendency >Roiland revealed he had ADHD attention span and likes to fricked around instead of working in a functional group project
I am not surprised if Hirsch and Roiland tried to work on their first project together and ended their decade long friendship due to creative differences
>He's lucky he hasn't been Me Too'd by Dana
I guess Dana still has a shred of decency left, considering that fricking Alex is what got her show greenlit in the first place.
She owes him that much.
>I guess Dana still has a shred of decency left, considering that fricking Alex is what got her show greenlit in the first place. >She owes him that much.
She's just as bad as he was. Her turn over rate was terrible, even the girl she simped for left the show before it was done.
She's hasn't posted much of her since before the show ended, around the time IRL Luz left the show. Maybe things went south. If they did get together she'd be public about it. She is a female after all.
I think he just let his massive ego/Napoleon complex get in the way of being a good worker. Inside Job crew pretty much called him a cancer, and his Netflix project never saw so much as a piece of concept art. I think he may have some sort of problem with alcoholism. The last few public pictures he has taken he looks pale and his hair is thinning considerably (in fact the last several pics he's always wearing a hat even when not appropriate... not that the slob would know) and I don't think this homosexual has been working near a nuclear reactor or anything. Actually, I'm pretty sure he hasn't been working at all.
I think he needs a friend to help turn his life around, but.... Justin has his own problems, Dana wants nothing to do with him and probably put him in that state, and I think Matt is just too weak of an r/AznIdentity beta hapa to do anything about it.
So the source is an anon who had leaked storyboard images for the show (pic related). He basically revealed that Alex was hard to work with, put the show into a 5 million dollar hole with his constant delays, got several episodes scrapped for no good reason (which obviously pissed the people off that worked on said episodes), and was replaced as producer in the second season.

Everything I see about Matt indicates that he's a total professional. He's pretty diplomatic online and keeps negative commentary to a minimum.
He may run in similar circles as Hirsch and consider him a colleague, but that doesn't mean they're so close that he would be comfortable stepping in for any sort of intervention. Aside from professional courtesy, there's nothing to indicate that they are super duper close.
>12 year old girl style gossip >blatant misinformation and "trust me bro" made up nonsense about the subject to paint (insert person i don't like) in a really awful light
When did Cinemaphile turn into twitter?
I always find myself amazed at the sheer damage 2016 did to the entire internet and culture as a whole, Politics going from a boring topic no one cares about suddenly became diet religion is the worst fricking thing ever
Was it that one guy who was fired for making self insert art with Pearl that tried to "leak" to some cartoon reviewer that Hirsch was the Weinstein of DTVA and gave everyone STI's? I just remember reading something like that
>what went wrong?
I think it comes down to the fact that the two major inspirations behind Gravity Falls, The X-Files and Twin Peaks, are too contradictory for each other. The monster of the week structure clashed with the lynchian vibes.
>Hirsch helped start Matt Braly's career by hiring him as a board artist on Gravity Falls >Braly is now making movies >Hirsch can't get another show out the door
It's over
True, the only time he ever got visibly upset at the Mouse was when they delayed and leaked true colors a day before release, and it was legitimately enough he did not get in trouble.
and his show didnt have any forced modern nonsense aside from the requisite background npc talking about 'her wife' and putting hijabs on women with belly shirts
>look at me I'm a cool quirky guy congratulating his peers lol >oops I accidentally told you to draw them as a fusion as if they were both gems from Stephen universe!, don't actually do that guys!
He is acknowledging and giving praise because if you don't its seen as if you are salt, he is adding a reference to rebeccas work and makes a joke about drawing the two people a a fusion person in an attempt to be funny/get a bit of clout when someone inevitably does draw a fusion of them in an attempt to get clout themselves
tldr; everyone in the industry is attention-seeking
i assumed he was referring to fusions in a more general sense, like what Cinemaphile enjoys drawing (often 3-way fusions)
because aren't gem fusions sex
There is something really ingenuine about the way he posts. All the quips, snark, and exclamation points. Like he is really silently seething about his protege becoming more successful than he.
I think it's a bit telling that Matt didn't reply to or even like his post.

Alex's sense of humor is so goddamn forced. Seems to me Mike Rianda and Matt Chapman were the guys who were actually writing the truly funny stuff on GF
>What went wrong?
You aged, but without outgrowing the unrealistic expectation that stories written at the intellectual and emotional level of a child would continue to satisfy you.
I'm continuing to be satisfied and develop new insights in the Stimpy's Invention episode, in the Justice League, and other things. There was just never anything particularly interesting in Gravity Falls without the fan base to make their own content. What are the killer lines and amazing plots? Can anybody think of any?

His sister didn't went to college to pay for his education.
>Had to support your sibling education
>Became one of the big inspiration from a successful animated series
Hey at least Hirsch said thanks through action
plus all the pinecest
I mean considering all the hate the character based on her later received maybe she isn't that grateful.
Maybe that's part of why they seem to have cut ties with each other
Lol
I wonder what she's doing now
>What she's doing now
She already a successful psychologist
>trust fund babies
Source? Most artists take out massive loans. The narrative that artists are all rich is not true.
Source: Guy who unfortunately does not have a trust fund (and neither did any of his art school friends).
He did say "industry animators" not "aspiring animators". Are you employed in the industry?
That is the implication, yes
can confirm. The people who say that all industry artists have trust funds are jealous buttholes who need an excuse for why they failed or why they never even tried. There are always outliers, but most people in the industry do not come from rich backgrounds.
well they do all live in california
it sucks because i was raised by parents from California and they raised me cool and creative, and meanwhile california went to shit so it's good we didn't stay there, but on the other hand I feel like I was meant to make TV shows and other shit that you can't do in the midwest.
It's a shame cali is hard to move to and make a lving while trying to get into art
that too.
hopefully with the industry collapsing and remote work becoming more normalized, we'll see the decentralization of the media that we should have in the first place. If you live in buttfrick alabama but you happen to have what it takes to make good shit, you should be able to make good shit. Even if your primary animator lives in saskatoon and your voice actors come from like sweden or some shit.
You can do that right now. There's nothing stopping you from making an indie series on YouTube.
except the nagging knowledge that I should have done it 15 years ago before they yanked the rug out from under it. plus i'd be deplatformed in five seconds.
I'm glad someone else understands that. under every blue collar lies a red neck.
I can relate. But better late than never.
i am ready for when the time is right, when a new platform shows up, when my health and energy return. might be music, might be musings, might be cheap slideshow animation with ai-augmented voiceover where i play every character. but i'm gonna do something and it's going to get abused by immoral moralizers and illegal legal eagles, sooner or later.
Alabama is like the mirror image of California in a way.
how?
Sounds like you're a real nobody with grandeur dreams. No offense.
I'm just lonely and don't fit in, and I know the people I fit in with are all corrupted by shit these days. But before that, it could have worked. Because I hear them talk and it's like yes, these are the bros I wanted to bro out with, when everyone around me had no interests beyond sports.
Remember my previous statement about you being a real nobody?
I take it back, I did mean to offend.
Lackadaisy is helmed by someone living in St. Louis Missouri. Stop making excuses and start making animation. Or move to Cali if you really think you need to.
You’re painting yourself as a victim of circumstance but you’re just making excuses to avoid having to try.
Source: midwesterner who eventually got out to chase a dream
Utah made Saving me, maybe try that place instead if you can tolerate religious Boomers.
>move to Cali
Horrible mistake, that's how you end up homeless
got two more cartoons after his first show and a revival and is getting more live action sitcoms.
Didn't Murphy's law die quick?
I know this post is old now but some execs at Disney Channel personally apologized for shoving MML on Disney XD and realized their mistake which is kinda crazy tbqhfam.
that is.. incredible.
bit late now, but they learned! it's idiotic to put first-run programming on your non-advertising-supported channel. that literally exists so you can run your less profitable shit but still make money on subscribers.
heh yeah. I could see getting along with those schmucks actually. if I was just raised a little differently.
needs more naked mabel and wendy. i'm not saying you have to SHOW us, but cmon, shoulders-up.
to be fair, that's just how the industry is. one thing gets revived indefinitely while 200 things get infinicanceled at the company's expense. they hate money, see.
in a better world Alex would have gotten fired off of the show after Season 1 and it gets the full 3 seasons and a movie it should have gotten under the direction of someone not an unreliable weirdo like Alex Hirsch
i swear you people have no idea how the ingredients work
we don't get memorable works from reasonable people. we get them from steve ditko, jack kirby, and other weirdos.
damn. twink death is brutal.
It's the only way I can cum.
Also Noah Z. Jones, that dude is going for his fourth Disney cartoon while Hirsch's second show still isn't out.
is that thurop?
He revived his North Woods show at Disney on 2021, im assuming he worked closely with Jones on development and needed voices.
Both shows are slated for a 2025 release on Disney Channel depending if the TAG dosn't go on strike.
this looks like that other show.. with the people. the little small people
anyway I was fascinated looking at Hirsch's student films, A) that they weren't funny (they were smart, and creative, and well-made, but not funny) and B) that he had so much top-notch talent in them. dude got weird al for his experimental hybrid whiteboard cartoon thing.
>this looks like that other show.. with the people. the little small people
Big City Greens?
that's the one
Funny beacuse Noah Z. Jones gave Hirsch work at Disney on the first place
I bet Dan keeps this around and shows it to other cartoonists that are still actually working at DTVA whenever he wants a laugh.
Hirsch's "rags to riches" story is complete bullshit. His gram-gram was a Hollywood actress, he had connections, he even appeared on the Late Show when he was in highschool.
>I bet Dan keeps this around and shows it to other cartoonists that are still actually working at DTVA whenever he wants a laugh.
I can see it since the Molly and Moon Girl crew don't actually like Hirsch
I mean it's obviously an affectionate joke..
Molly is monkey shit
Bill and Bob are mediocre script monkeys who spent 25 years working on direct to video slop so they could get a show only to realize they didn't even have two seasons worth of ideas
>someone posts a reaction image
>immediately assume they are making a comparison between two IPs or inviting you to derail the thread with whataboutism
Low IQ posting behavior
>he said, trying to derail the thread by responding to bait posts from ten hours ago
>there is a time limit to when you can reply to someone
What the FRICK is this manlet's problem?
>manlet
I don't think 5.8 screams short anon, unless you live in some regions where everyone is 6 ft
>I don't think 5.8 screams short anon
Uh.. you got me?... don't know what's funny to be honest but eh
He's awake.
>unless you live in some regions where everyone is 6 ft
That's called the first world, manlet
So Bosnia?
First world countries aren't equal there ether but go off I guess lol
He’s stuck in the past not only living the high off gravity falls but also the constant praise and adoration from the fanbase.
>mfw I have a shitty work ethic too
Boy I hope I don't turn out like Alex.
he's just like me
>perfectionist
Soo… the John K of the 2010s?
John K isn't a perfectionist, he's a revolutionary who still defines the industry with his innovations. He praised things like Yogi Bear.
Um… anon was referring the alleged cheating with Shion during the production of Inside Job.
I was not aware. Got any more info, I'm out of the loop on that one.
Kek
Really?
Source: dude, you can tell
It what wrong?
Too busy complaining about how bad "the mouse" that gave him his own show is
All the crunch time and sleepless nights spent at the studio to work on Gravity Falls was 100% Alex's fault.
I've also seen the rumor that he refused to go to the bathroom and peed on a garbage bin instead because he was that obsessive
He would also refuse to get up to eat or drink so he drank his piss and ate his poop
He called it "Hirsch's chocolate"
Yes that was confirmed true
oh like you've never done that
i hate when people refer to GF as needing to 'continue' it's as bad as proposing half-life 3, instead of half-life 2 episode 3
we don't want GF to continue, we want season 2 to be longer. and have its own finale. and then season 3 to be the second half of season 2, but longer. technically, this could be accomplished, with a bunch more episodes that take place in the middle, to even things out. as far as i know, no show has ever done this. but it should.
>oh like you've never done that
What?! No, you fool! I've done some insane animation all-nighters that do not involve my fluids going into a trash can that some poor Mexican janitor is going to have to clean up
well of course you rinse it out afterward!!
yeah i'm not saying you did, more that that's how everyone couches it. i'm sure you've heard that before.
and yeahhh i'm actually surprised they didn't try to pull one of those.
Im not saying I would like the series to continue, just saying that disney respected his decision instead of keep doing the show like CN did it with PPG and dexter. and nick did it with sponge bob. at resume, Im saying alex is a crybaby
>>we don't want GF to continue, we want season 2 to be longer. and have its own finale. and then season 3 to be the second half of season 2, but longer. technically, this could be accomplished, with a bunch more episodes that take place in the middle, to even things out. as far as i know, no show has ever done this. but it should.
I agree or at the very least have all the deleted scenes be fully animated and spliced into the episodes they were deleted from.
that could work too, but would likely be a lot messier
it's still really surprising we've never seen this done.
also true.
>> that could work too, but would likely be a lot messier
it's still really surprising we've never seen this done.
It would definitely be messier, but it would be worth it. And yeah I'm a little surprised we haven't seen this done before as well. Would be a perfect way to get more money which Disney sorely needs.
It was? Please God let it be real
you know, that's a rare combination, a lazy perfectionist, but I could see alex being one
so...he was a john k? i watched gravity falls when i was 15 (when it came out) but i never really understood the behind-the-scenes stuff.
Even by his own admitino Alex said he procrastinated a lot and did everything at the last hour, which considering he was the guy steering the ship you can imagine those issues would trickle down to his crew.
I'm not sure I understand the question.
What went wrong with what?
Can you list any reasons you believe this unspecified wrongness occurred?
Everything
he did pretty much nothing wrong except that moronic goatee
that moronic goatee ain't bad though...
it's an excellent goatee. really suits his face.
why is Cinemaphile so obsessed with him? did you guys have some parasocial relationship with him on twitter growing up? plenty of Cinemaphile creators didn't make another show after their first hit. it's very common.
he feels the most like us. he's literally my age, he was so excited to work with Matt Chapman, and the show was really good and refreshing. He and Pen Ward, they both feel like literally me.
But both of them are too much like me, in that they don't have the kind of work ethic that lets you do hard stuff all the time. and the networks are bad. and i'm sure i'd be brainwashed too if I stayed in california.
>Why is Cinemaphile so obsessed with certain animators?
you are a loser with no talent that no one will ever admire 😉
They just talk about the people that are actually interesting in a personal level. No one is talking about Joel G or David Firth because they don't get into any dramas.
People like this bald king
.
As you can see, the Cinemaphileomer feeds off negativity to live >141160005
>why is Cinemaphile so obsessed with him? did you guys have some parasocial relationship with him on twitter growing up? plenty of Cinemaphile creators didn't make another show after their first hit. it's very common.
This
Not only him, but Dobson too
Is it true that he would take a crap in the trashcans?
what?
they're for trash. what do you put in your trashcan, NON-digested food?
Piss. The allegation is that he pissed in trash cans. Cinemaphile loves to embellish. Pretty soon you all are going to say he spoofed in those trash cans.
wouldn't that be significantly better?
i mean we've all done it at work...
I mean, that's what i've been told here in Cinemaphile. But yeah, that makes you right.
I miss them so bad bros.
me too.. but all we can do is continue to make excellent fan works.
at this point, making them set a decade ago has an additional nice feel to it.
Literally Alex
>GF was never cancelled.
>Disney even wanted more seasons.
>Out of grudge, Alex decided to cut the series abruptly because he can no longer deal with the mouse.
>knew from a start the sort of shit behind Disney
>instead of dealing with censorship avoiding it, or finding loopholes, he spent most time complaining about getting his dick cut.
>Explicitly keep poking the bear with a stick to keep complain.
>Spent more time shitting on Disney and the fanbase than actually working.
>Stories from the workers describe Alex as a deadweight.
er
he dealt with censorship by just telling them "no, i'm not changing that"
which is one of the few times he shows balls
do you.. -not- spend all your time shitting on disney?
What a fricking weenie
Is he him in the industry now?
This. disney could say frick off to alex and keep doing GF without him, like basically any network, but instead they respected his decision
He thougj he could take the ginger.
>imagine going to bat for a faceless mega conglomerate
you will never have mickey's slong in your ass homosexual
being a big corporation is literally the only good thing about disney. and they aren't even really practicing.
imagine working for a faceless mega conglomerate and then playing freedom fighter after reaping the benefits. alex acted high and mighty in spite of having mickey's slong in his ass, that's what makes him hateable
Coasting on his fame too much?
>What went wrong?
In what way anon?
Nothing.
I don't know why people think his life went wrong. Making the transition to being a voice actor was one of the smartest decisions he's made
he really is a good actor
So Hirsch, Rebecca Sugar and Dana Terrace are all israelites? Is there any other israelite in the cartoon industry I am not aware of?
you.. are aware the entertainment industry has a lot of israelites, right?
because it was considered a trashy, unseemly profession, suited only for them.
They barely participated or had any characteristics. any other show, the teen friend group would have been just the other 4. and their designs are so deliberate, I have to think they're based on someone.
tldr:
anons who want a better understanding should look up "Hollywoodism" on butchute. it should be required viewing for any aspiring artists.
>Hirsch is mixed, being israeli from his father side
>Sugar came from a israeli family
>Terrance came a white catholic background
Where the you got that weird jump? There are no articles where she expressed she had israeli ancestry.
well.... that nose..
the question is why anon brought it up. he's like homer in that episode where they found out krusty was israeli
Hack who was in the right place at the right time and couldn't succeed on his own merit.
All I'd really suggest is that season 2 maybe should have had a couple more episodes, in order to properly build up both the kids relationship with Ford, getting proper closure with some of the other townsfolk, and, most importantly, giving weirdmageddon a bit more time to be set up-executed so it didn't feel as rushed as it was.
yeah i just rewatched and the pacing felt so unsatisfying, over before I knew it.. but a lot of good shows are like that. Home Movies comes to mind.
I agree. But though it was rushed, what we got was still really good.
the noble Sir Alex the Bald was supposed to bridge the gap between cartoon fans and creators... instead he screeched about politics, blocked people for asking show-related questions, weaponized his own followers, and used company trademarked material to peddle abortions.
but aside from everything, he is sort of a one-trick pony, and at that it was mostly Matt Chapman's style of humor nor his that bled through on Gravity Falls and made it "work" (all Alex knows how to do is Family Guy tier "remember that 80s thing?" humor and really bad/outdated political takes). all his projects since then Hirsch was kept behind the scenes and even then in the case of Inside Job he was quietly fired because he was an even worse producer than he was showrunner.
as much as you're definitely right about parts of that, it's important you acknowledge that you don't (and can't) know most of this. because by your own assertion, nobody knows about it.
If Dan's still funny then why have his new cartoons flopped?
first of all, everything flops now
secondly, they haven't
third, haven't you seen the lil videos he's putting on youtube? he's still funny.. and he's such a DAD.
>first of all, everything flops now
And why does that happen to begin with? In fact, if everything flops, then a good show made by them should have much less competence rather than just joining the club, right?
>why does that happen
buncha reasons. it's difficult to be the only good show in a sea of crap, nobody's watching and nobody's gonna wade through all of that
>if everything flops then a good show should have less competence rather than joining the club
please rephrase this, I don't understand
I just wish he'd draw more on his twitter
Dana's also annoying but at least she posts art regularly
It's no wonder he and Roiland were friends with how similar their work ethics were
>Similar Work ethics
>Hirsch had perfectionism tendency
>Roiland revealed he had ADHD attention span and likes to fricked around instead of working in a functional group project
I am not surprised if Hirsch and Roiland tried to work on their first project together and ended their decade long friendship due to creative differences
He was part of "THAT" group. He's lucky he hasn't been Me Too'd by Dana or the other barely legal interns he was fricking.
Her turn over rate was terrible, even the girl she simped for left the show before it was done.
>even the girl she simped for left the show before it was done
I thought she managed to start a relationship with real-life Luz.
She's hasn't posted much of her since before the show ended, around the time IRL Luz left the show. Maybe things went south. If they did get together she'd be public about it. She is a female after all.
> even the girl she simped for left the show before it was done.
Don’t forget Spencer Wan never came back for season 2 too
His aim ain't getting better.
heh..
>Inside Job crew pretty much called him a cancer
Sounds unlikely
So the source is an anon who had leaked storyboard images for the show (pic related). He basically revealed that Alex was hard to work with, put the show into a 5 million dollar hole with his constant delays, got several episodes scrapped for no good reason (which obviously pissed the people off that worked on said episodes), and was replaced as producer in the second season.
Thread link?
https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/134910322/#q134919530
>still at Netflix working on other projects that are likely being in development hell
>He is producer for Jorge Gutierrez’s chihuahua luchador film
Ah frick homie he found his next victim!
His twin Ariel should have a little talk with him if it is indeed alcoholism.
> His twin Ariel should have a little talk with him
Are they still close though? Hirsch doesn’t follow his sister on socials no more.
>Matt is just too weak of an r/AznIdentity beta hapa to do anything about it.
It's better this way, if the show comes back, it will be as a shitty disney plus show.
The absolutely basement tier levels of expectation placed on the conduct of women and girls in modern society.
Bait.
>12 year old girl style gossip
>blatant misinformation and "trust me bro" made up nonsense about the subject to paint (insert person i don't like) in a really awful light
When did Cinemaphile turn into twitter?
I always find myself amazed at the sheer damage 2016 did to the entire internet and culture as a whole, Politics going from a boring topic no one cares about suddenly became diet religion is the worst fricking thing ever
Not cracking down on Twitter threads and 1pbtid spam allowed shitposting to become the dominant culture.
So basically what everything ties back into... DOGSHIT moderation
Not me
Was it that one guy who was fired for making self insert art with Pearl that tried to "leak" to some cartoon reviewer that Hirsch was the Weinstein of DTVA and gave everyone STI's? I just remember reading something like that
Too many women on this board. It's just lolcow for animators now.
>get opportunity to make the show you’ve always wanted to
>get bored and burnt out after one season
He was ngmi
Guys I got accepted into SAIC (School of Art institute of Chicago) the second best art school in the US... now what
How the frick can you afford 46k a year tuition?
You stop posting here and focus on school
This
Get back to work you homosexual! MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE! SIEZE EVERY OPPORTUNITY! AND ALWAYS DRAW
Hope to see his new show in the future
>what went wrong?
I think it comes down to the fact that the two major inspirations behind Gravity Falls, The X-Files and Twin Peaks, are too contradictory for each other. The monster of the week structure clashed with the lynchian vibes.
>Hirsch helped start Matt Braly's career by hiring him as a board artist on Gravity Falls
>Braly is now making movies
>Hirsch can't get another show out the door
It's over
He finished his show on time, made the company money, didn't upset the producers, and had a healthy work environment.
Hirsch pissed on trash cans.
Someone update the image, you know that one
Why does he have to talk like that
it's funny, don't be a joyless rube
>look at me I'm a cool quirky guy congratulating his peers lol
>oops I accidentally told you to draw them as a fusion as if they were both gems from Stephen universe!, don't actually do that guys!
He is acknowledging and giving praise because if you don't its seen as if you are salt, he is adding a reference to rebeccas work and makes a joke about drawing the two people a a fusion person in an attempt to be funny/get a bit of clout when someone inevitably does draw a fusion of them in an attempt to get clout themselves
tldr; everyone in the industry is attention-seeking
i assumed he was referring to fusions in a more general sense, like what Cinemaphile enjoys drawing (often 3-way fusions)
because aren't gem fusions sex
why does he sounds false?
I think it's a bit telling that Matt didn't reply to or even like his post.
god I feel more and more sympathetic for hirsch, people treat me just like him
usually for -not- being a liberal, but still
Savage.
I remember Hirsch giving Hartman the cold shoulder when he drew him something. What goes around comes around.
There is something really ingenuine about the way he posts. All the quips, snark, and exclamation points. Like he is really silently seething about his protege becoming more successful than he.
and i'm sure it has nothing to do with people saying shit like this to him all the time
Alex's sense of humor is so goddamn forced. Seems to me Mike Rianda and Matt Chapman were the guys who were actually writing the truly funny stuff on GF
I mean he did better than any of you people ever did at anything
Nothing went wrong.
Power to true regional media.
They obviously just want to change the art style into something goodder and make something different
>What are the killer lines and amazing plots? Can anybody think of any?
Ask the intended audience.
Lmao this queer dodge nonsense is pathetic. The Tumblr fanbase was massive in the first place, it's just that all the enthusiasm eventually dissipated. Quit trying to control the narrative, feminized one
Brainworms.
No dumbass I understand everything about you, I'm just being nice. Go jack off your queer community and leave people discussing animation alone
Okay, Guy de Nopussy
1. Girls love my ass, that's why you have nothing better to do than harass me for an innocuous comment to try to separate the lion from lionesses 2. Alex Hirsch trained you to be this way and harassed me specifically for when he was doing it when I was an impoverished teenager, so I'm going to look up Gravity Falls crew and email them some more
QUEER!
Soft tapioca.
These corny material metaphors are not hard hitting stuff for me dude
And I just emailed about the owl house so I'm ruining the queer culture you relish for pedo-adjacent pleasures
Shadow boxing.
I saw that you replied so I emailed another set of owl house crew and will be repeating with new emails tomorrow.
I'm not a minor you've got in a tarbaby trap little man - go watch Song of the South to appreciate real art
You didn't even name whar the two things are you queer. Please frick off, you're wasting the potential of mysteries for pedophilic games taught to you by Alex
I have published things like designs for Half-Life 3 and Portal 3, none of you trolls have said anything about them. Queer
E-peen tier post
i love this picture so i'm going to let you off the hook this time
You know those two are not on the same side, right
Shhh, let him believe he's good at something.
>killer lines
basically every fake commercial / tv promo, as well as Stan's shitty sold on TV products
>amazing plots
ehhhhhh... come back to me later, I can't say no, but I also can't think of one.
Nothing?
>anon jinxed him
Anon jinxed Alex!
>This thread is still up
Anons I am impressed. I am wondering if Hirsch would come and read all this crap?
It's the only thing that gives him attention, so probably.
I gotta admit, I was keeping it open in the hope of posting some art when I have time for it
but there's another kinda better mabel-centric thread going so I'll prombambly post it there.
Alex almost certainly comes here. I think more industry people than you'd ever believe do. It's the one place they can come and take shots at each other anonymously, and mostly everyone in the industry (including and especially Alex) is extremely petty and childish.
In fact Alex is probably not only a regular but a pretty well versed shitposter. He's the type to come into the thread and act like a gullible idiot, or make backhanded posts and shit like "why are you all so obsessed with m- him". This place is like an opium den for narcissistic behavior. I suspected he was the one who stooged on Luke Weber being EZPZ's source as well.
I miss when creators would come here and shoot the shit, draw stuff for us.. it was good times on Cinemaphile
especially pen and nat. they were great.
>I think more industry people than you'd ever believe do.
Pretty sure they've admitted it, like Ian Jones.
Hi Alex. How’s your mother?
What do you think of this man?
?si=_0n-SG_QuWqZJYll
You think he saw this since he use to post stuff in this board?
So how many of the posts ITT shitting on Alex and Dana are Luke you think?
Alex teasing more Gravity Falls again

I just want a stan twins spinoff.
Wait, so Alex just runs this random ass fake twitter account for a state park agency? This dude is starting to come across as a straight up frauditor.
I completely forgot about the Cipher Hunt.

>He crawled back
Can he just go comic or indie with is original rejected ideas? He could have been western version of Gege or Isiyama if he does write on the side.
