Lame premise, a guaranteed meal ticket for people who have to be pushed to be funny, and the writers got softer and softer as the show kept going. It's made for the kind of person with three kids and six dogs who has an entire shelf dedicated to one specific 80s media property to the point where you wonder if it may actually qualify as a religion.
At release I didn't see it because the "worm" style was really unappealing. The I gave it a chance and I was seeing it casually for a time. Then I saw the episode where the big sister thinks she is a horse, and that's seen as good behavior "autism is fine/good".
Never seen it since
was that in season 14 or something?
only watch the first 12 seasons. skip the movie and the rest. unless you don't care about being fired for being white.
The low stakes milquetoast mid movie for starters. BB is past it's prime but gets by on pandering to the lowest audiences and not rocking the boat.
And getting rid of established characters, adding some shitty new ones and under-using support charas overall.
Changing BB's tone to pander a family friendly tone and be super leftist cumguzzling nazi tumblrshits. Only the family members matter now and there's no humor.
>Too focused on the kids >Too many plots about Bob being wrong >Too much Teddy
This one actually starts way earlier than the other issues >Already soft show gets even softer as it goes on >Zero character progression even by sitcom standards
Also the movie shouldn't have been a musical nor should it have re used so many plotlines from the show.
>too much Teddy
This wouldn't be a problem if they wrote him better, like in the one where he babysits the kids and just randomly snakes a big wad of shit from their kitchen drain, to Louise's delight. Teddy is so moronic now that they had to invent a whole new character to come fix Bob's electrical panel.
>They decided Tina was funny >Similarly, too many purely kid focused episodes >Writers ran out of ideas >Too many episodes that are just "Bob enjoys something, his entire family refuses to let him enjoy something and destroys it for no reason"
>Too many episodes that are just "Bob enjoys something, his entire family refuses to let him enjoy something and destroys it for no reason"
that's literally just being married with kids anon
I feel ya man, same thing happened to me. I miss playing Dnd with my friends I recently left the group chat because I felt like a ghost. One of my old friends checked on me to make sure I wasn’t gonna kill myself.
Is it morally correct to have Bob shoot and kill his family and pretend they don't exist anymore?
I kinda wanna see what would happen if he did that but also grounded them up into food, turning bob into pilot bob.
I remember reading somewhere that they scaled back the raunchiness and focused more on the kids because they realized the show was being viewed by families and such. If they didn't do so consciously, then whatever that's still what happened. Ended up making the show less interesting and the family less real and endearing.
The "adult" humor grew soft, Bob became a pushover, Linda became as immature as the kids, and the kids are more boring than obnoxious now. The last thing you want your adult comedy to be is soft and boring. Bob's Burgers changed itself for no real reason.
>Gee, Linda. I guess I just didn't realize how important it was for you and the kids to set the restaurant on fire and use my testicles as a speedbag. >Awwww Bobby. I love you!
Has gone on for way to long and lost the edge it started with. And it doesn't know what to do with Gene.

Can't show Tina's belly anymore.
Too safe for normie audiences. We need more bob doing shit outside the restaurant. Leave the kids and linda in there.

>Things you can't do today
If you keep reinforcing it, it's because you support it ironically, and always have
If you keep deflecting it and pretending it doesn’t exist, clearly you’re hiding something.
I'd rather have Louise serve me this one. Or maybe Tina.
they stopped doing ad lib
recasting characters based on their race.

Made Linda the source of 90% of all conflicts

Original premise of the show was to have comedians adlib conversations and animators animate over those.
Now the whole show is 100% scripted and it's boring
When they started to forget that its intended target demo was adults not kids.
no more funny scenarios, now it's just forced sentimentality every episode

yep

It's got like a dozen seasons and a theatrical movie release OP you tell me what's wrong with it
It ran its course, and did all it could with the premise and characters without changing the status quo.
They did confirm that they trojan horsed the greenlight and they always wanted to make a progressive show.
That should've been a tip-off.
This is what they took from you

Louise looks like she found out that the Burger of the Day is the Impossible Burger.

All the voices sound like guys.
Because they ARE all guys, except for Louise's VA.
>what went right
They got rid of Pestos VA for trying to overthrow the govt
became too concerned with being "family friendly" after the 5th season
