fun fact: broly's VA also did edward elric and he was accused by like 50 female fans of groping them at cons so he sued them for like 50 billion dollars and it became a notorious lawsuit in the legal world known as the "lolsuit"

Why do they hate action cartoons so much?

        Anonymous

The AoT dub sucks, no soul just running through the motions reading off dialogue, which really impares that show in particular because a lot of the stuff they say could (and does in the dub) come off as cringe if it's not annunciated right and made to sound cool from a VA putting some of their actual emotion and getting immersed in the character, not
        >inside voice: now soldiers!
        >loud: GIVE YOUR HEARTS
and AoT is the only half decent show that has been on CN since dbz

When the order 66 clone does (Rex?) and when Darth Maul dies was kino sure, but that entire boring series isn't worth it. Makes the whole universe way gayer, like when they had to fight "the force" which was just 3 weird gods or something that looked like griffins...

No, I understand that. I'm saying it's only like that because, besides it being Star Wars, it came about when there was nothing better to watch.

                Anonymous

Nah, not really. I know plenty of people who watched it despite being Star Wars. It's just a good space adventure show all around. In spirit of old adventure serials and Star Trek (but with less autism). On the contrary, people who usually actively hate it are die-hard smelly Star Wars nerds.

interesting. i would agree. they were good shows, but the absurdism was a very VERY slipperly slope that i at the time was worried deep down shows would try and emulate and would eventually get caught in the nonsensical, baseless garbage dump that cartoons eventually became. what the israelites did to cartoon network they will as well do to society because its just the most profitable way to do things. scramble things up to absurdism and that way things like professionalism and hard work, expensive things you need to pay experts for, go to the wayside because they're hard to identify and essentially pointless in a world where no logic exists. the israelites do this, weakening the systems and draining the money till they inevitably collapse, the jig is up, and a replacement grows. usually worse than the one before.

you know despite what Steven Universe became, the original story of it is not bad, it's pretty creative and the music is good. The first season of Steven Universe and the movie are kino, and I will not back down from that view. All of the eerie foreshadowing of Homeworld and worldbuilding during the first season was awesome, along with some genuinely comfy episodes and great music. Too bad they fumbled it all the way to the unceremonious ending of the original series. Luckily the movie was excellent. Future can suck my big fat wiener though, that shit was awful and they should’ve stopped while they were ahead.

it's a different time now for sure. It makes me wonder if these animators really want to be doing this political cartoon stuff, or if it's something cartoon network is making them do because they are getting paid to make propaganda bumps. as far as the LGBT stuff in Steven Universe, I think they just found their demographic and ran with it. It's the same group of teenage girls that like shit like Invader Zim and shit. like middle/high school "scene" girls or the weird girls writing harry potter fan-fiction. It's just not made for grown adults.

they lost the point of what they were doing, highlighting independent animators with fun creative ideas. And now it's people using computers to design characters, and not to be that "calarts" guy but there is no variation in artwork any more. And if it wasn't for growing up with early internet like newgrounds i don't think i'd appreciate animation as much as I do or at least the work that goes into it.

Steven Universe marks a change where Cartoon Network is about propaganda first and foremost and entertainment second. Nickelodeon, and Viacom as a whole really, is total woke shit at this point, but Cartoon Network puts out literal propaganda using their cartoon characters which is beyond egregious.

I actually cancelled all this shit recently and subscribed to Yippee just so I can have my kid watch something that isn't forcing a bunch of homosexual troony shit down his throat.

Same with any company in the entertainment industry. The middle aged execs allowed their younger trophy wives dictate all their decisions within the company.

    Too much antihumor.
Not enough support for legitimately good shows like ATHF, Venture Bros, Harvey Birdman, and a few others.

One time I made a thread about Cartoon Network linking to a wikipedia article I found listing all their shows which have features LGBT content and I asked simply "Why do Democrat voters so badly want to show gay content to children?" Three day ban for a topic about a television network on the Cinemaphile board because it hurt their fee-fees. This thread si the same fricking thing, but it doesn't make you feel attacked for the sub-human filth you are so you'll leave it up.

And that's why your party is dying, you're a hypocritical piece of shit who doesn't hold everyone to the same standard. You pick and choose, and that's why you fricking lose.

over-politicization is one of many issues of modern CN

CN went to shit around 2005 or 2006 and basically stayed that way with the exception of Regular Show and early Adventure Time somehow being decent. Also, death to zoomers.

      >Adventure time

It was Le randum humor xD incarnate. Not to the mention it started the whole gay propaganda in cartoons bullshit. Kys for your shit taste. You're equally as bad as the zoomers you're b***hing about

They're doing a lot better these days, granted they still do the dumb TTGO bullshit a lot but it wasn't as bad as it used to be. And to their credit they actually do sign up on some pretty great cartoons these days and are more willing to experiment with different stuff. They haven't totally shit the bed like Nickelodeon have.
