>righteous humans kill evil monsters isn’t cliche
I’m confused how you think extinction is a better moral for a story. They didn’t even make the hunters into bad guys in the story.
Comfy, pretty, funny.
The writing was safe, but I don't really care aside fom the ending being a bit hasty. I love how they spoke "soft"-piratey all the time.
For me personally, I turned it off when I realized there was no relationship. I watch most animated films for relationships. There was a blonde boy swimming near the intro time that I thought would be the girl's love interest but I guess it never happened? I bored-ly skipped around shortly after that so I have no idea how the movie unfolded

That's the main male lead (in the poster) from some years ago
Having my hopes up for forty minutes that this was going to be a Captain Ahab type story instead of a HttYD rip-off.
But overall it was quite competent besides playing it a bit safe and cliche. The fights and animation were stand out. If I had to point out its major weaknesses it'd be within the last few minutes, where the Captain didn't kill the sea beast and instead planned to bring it to the city, and the kings were showing to profit from war and propaganda for little shown reason or thematic resonance.
They should have included more of the evil merchant that sold them the poison rocket. I loved the movie, but they had a great villain and would have made a better final act than the royalty.
>should've been about the crew only >sarah should of been deuteragonist >kid was only there because family film quota >same with rushed HTTYD story >everything else with the crew and the first third is ahab kino
>the humans are the bad guys all along
Typical cliche bullshit everyone is sick of. You could see the “twist” in the trailer.

There were a couple of very satisfying relationships, just no sexual ones.
Romantic relationships in kids movies usually suck unless it's a dedicated romance story.

Looks devoid of a single ounce of soul. And it's a copy of an older movie on top of that.

They went wrong when the made everything cutesy and round. Why hire someone like Guy Davis to do the concept art, and then veer far far from it?
Red was cute, male guy should've turned big and banged her.
This movie’s getting a better reception than I thought. It looked like any other recent CGI family movies.
This was quite meh. I'm more disappointed in myself thinking this was going to be comfy enough. Moana is way better than this.

if this was a moby dick ripoff instead of httyd ripoff it definitely would've been more interesting
Is that red thing a boy or a girl?
girl, can't you tell by the eyeliner?
It was ok.
Not enough foot shots
