What went wrong bros?
Everyone was so hyped for Keaton.
I thought making a multiverse superhero movie with nostalgic cameos was a surefire hit.

For a real company yeah, not for DC Cucks
They should cancel the Blue Beetle movie NOW.
Nope. Keep it. Cancel Waller now and the rest of the Suicide Squad/Peacemaker garbage.
>Cancel Waller now and the rest of the Suicide Squad/Peacemaker garbage.
This, I don't care if twitter heckin loves it, it's all dead weight.
Market saturated with major hits already this year + CGI on the level of a PS2 game released two decades ago + audience protesting against Warner Bros - Discovery actors being legitimately terrible people means failure was inevitable.
If superman flops I expect DC to be sold
Not even kidding.
It should’ve just been an actual Flash movie, plain and simple.
>The “hero” causes all the problems in the movie and literally does more damage than any villain has
>Nothing but I SAW THIS GUY AND I CLAPPED moments everywhere
>Horrible main actor with no charisma
It should’ve been the Flash fighting his Rogues and being a good hero. He has decades worth of material and they base it on a giant turd story that only existed to reboot a crappy new continuity.
but I SAW THIS GUY AND I CLAPPED moments everywhere
I'm so tired of this trend
I don't care if Flash is wearing a winged helmet or if Batman's bat logo is yellow
You’re delusional if you think Rogues and 00s era superhero shit would have somehow made the movie a success
A good movie is a good movie regardless of name recognition. GotG proves that.
I think that anon forgot that Iron Man existed. The movie was literally propelled by the fact that it was good.
Yes, because this movie is doing so good at the box office, you idiot. You can’t go “Nooo it would do bad” and use it as an excuse to not properly adapt something when your shit adaptation is failing miserably.
They should've at least used Reverse-Flash.
No! We needed yet another evil Flash!
Eobard is a sequel villain. You can’t start with him.
>>The “hero” causes all the problems in the movie and literally does more damage than any villain has
So just like Miller in real life then?
The Flash movie should have always been a Wally West story about living up to Barry. The Geoff Johns "Reverse Flash kills Barry's mom" is too comic booky a storyline to base the plot of a film on, and requires a timeline where it didn't happen to exist first.
Would never happen but
>Movie 1
>Flash has been a hero for a year or two
>One of his more elusive enemies who keeps getting away, Snart, steals Cold Gun tech and learns how to master its time-effecting abilities
>Snart uses this to break into STAR Labs and make himself crew using criminal associates: Heatwave, Trickster, and Weather Wizard (whose brother works at STAR Labs and uses that to get them in)
>They go to a tech expert named The Turtle (played by Danny Devito), who modifies their tech into full on weapons
>Flash gets his ass kicked then tries to figure out how to stop them
>Movie 2
>More of a murder mystery type plot
>One of the Rogues and a big time crime boss are murdered and it’s believed to be the Flash
>Flash has to figure out who it is and why
>Snart decides to help Flash, because one of his Rogues were killed
>It leads to the Reverse Flash, who has been taking fake identities and watching Flash. Ultimately he wants to replace Barry, and plans to do it by being more effective than him.
>Flash and the Rogues team up to take on Eobard, who is too much for anyone alone due to his psychotic nature and speed mastery
>Movie 3
>Flash is called to Gorilla City by Solovar to help against Gorilla Grodd, who plans to dominate the planet
>The Turtle (played by Danny Devito)
Not Mantis or The Warthog. Dropped.
Enby groomer psychopath actor as protagonist = no watch.
Simple as.
>I thought making a multiverse superhero movie with nostalgic cameos was a surefire hit.
Did you see the cameos? They looked awful. Like a bad PS2 game.
And some of the cameos are from people who passed away and now having their likenesses CGI’d, which is something many disagree with.
The way Hollywood keeps fellating Ezra Miller despite him being a fricking maniac pretty much ensured that I will never pay money for this movie.
even the twitter sjws hate that little freak
Ezra being a walking example of Hollywood double standards sours everyone on him.
Even if I were to believe the white knights telling me he’s only a creepy little weirdo, the fact remains that far better actors than him have been nuked off the face of the earth for being innocent of acts magnitudes more benign than what he’s accused of.
It’s one thing to know that Hollywood is a corrupt, nepotism ridden hell hole, and another to have it rubbed in your face like this.
>far better actors than him have been nuked off the face of the earth for being innocent of acts magnitudes more benign than what he’s accused of
Yeah, but then there's Jared Leto so the universe remains in balance lol
A keaton cameo is only enough to get me to look up clips in a few months when the digital release happens instead of just pretending the movie doesn't exist.
even then supposedly ezra miller is in every scene so even a fan edit of the keaton scenes won't be able to salvage this mess
WB has relied on Batman too much and it's just hard to give a shit anymore about anything Bat related.
and even less about anything non Bat related like the Flash (NOBODY's favorite superhero)
When they do try to give us other movies they just make shit like the "Daughters of Atlas"
Is it any wonder they suck at non Batman stuff when they never learned how to do anything else?
>Flash is only going to be in theaters for a month tops
It's almost impressive how hard this flopped
Yeah they can give all the showings to Indiana Jones!
Indy is going to flop horrifically too.
That's the joke anon. It's already doing worse than Flash. It got 6mil for Thursday while Flash made 10. I would have included that Mermaid movie as well but I forgot it was coming out.
I legitimately didn't even know there was a new Indy movie coming out until they just suddenly announced it's out today
imagine not putting superman in a DC multiverse story
Wrong board
>movie screened to test audiences and journos up to a year in advance
>initial reactions saying its one of the best superhero movies
>it releases and turns out to be shit
So what happened? Did they edit the movie further since then? Were the test audiences and journos just a bunch of yes men?
They were paid off
That and WB lied about the effects not being finished, so people didn't want to be hard on what they thought was an imcomplete movie.
Also nerds likely clapped over seeing the CGI corpses of things they recognize
WN has awful test screeners made up of Yesmen. The same people also loved Shazam 2.
Does any remember some fat, autistic mexican youtuber frick that was a huge DC movie fanboy and HATED Marvel movies?
I want to see him lose his shit over this.
Andre Cedeno?
>and those movies.
Highest grossing blockbusters of their years
>30 years is usually past typical nostalgia marketability.
Top Gun 2
>It's why Prequels are in and Originals are out these days.
Top Gun had cool planes - which are always popular if done well - and it was a good movie on its own. Its entertainment value didn’t hinge on OOOH I RECOGNIZE THE THING.
>cool planes - which are always popular if done well
wasn't this one of the justifications for the Green Lantern movie to be made?
Pros
>Keaton Bats clearly the draw
>Flash is generally a popular character
Cons
>Ezra debacle
>Stuck in production hell for YEARS
>Flash was arguably the most annoying in JL and now there's two of them
>Recent DC films have been awful
>Absolutely tasteless nostalgia bait including a dead Chris Reeves Supes
>Snydergays angry because reasons
>Absolutely terribad CGI
>Dead DC universe and reboot
>Multiverse plots are wearing thin already
>People boycotting from Ezra alone
>Plot is a clusterfrick and a half
>including a dead Chris Reeves Supes
Why don't I see more people calling it out? It's creepy as frick. One step removed from a dead body puppetry.
I blame Rogue One for this shit
At least Rogue One reportedly asked the families of the corpses they paraded around for permission first.
The Flash had LIVING ACTORS who had no idea they were CGI’d into it, let alone the dead ones.
>he Flash had LIVING ACTORS who had no idea they were CGI’d into it, let alone the dead ones.
I've seen this repeated but I've never seen a source
There's already a webm of Cavill Superman and Momoa Aquaman in some time or memory thing. Looks like a PS2 render. Actually didn't quite recognize them the first few times it was posted, don't have it saved myself yet. Might grab it for reference later if someone else posts it.
I think it's important that 2 things be made clear
>was it just reused footage from another movie or were they completely CGI
and
>were the actors unaware of this
It's only bad imo if both of these are true. At least in terms of the living ones, obviously using that one Superman actor is in horrible taste regardless and should be mocked.
Terry who played Zoom in CW flash was in it as Jay Garrick and he had no recollection of filming it
>I've seen this repeated but I've never seen a source
It comes from people speculating where the Jay Garrick Flash in the movie is from. People thought it was Teddy sears, who played a fake Jay Garrick in the Flash TV show
https://theilluminerdi.com/2023/06/22/the-flash-teddy-sears/
but then someone asked a WBrep and came out and said it was a "no actor of note".
>someone asked a WBrep and came out and said it was a "no actor of note".
So it’s totally a CGI abomination right?
>no actor of note
Nice for them to call the actor who made that bit "no actor of note"
Ofc, the truth is that they messed up and used the guy from the tv show without asking him to do a scene to save some money.
I think thats true and I also think its true that the did so little research about it they didn't realise it was Zoom and not Jay.
I remember my family watching this in theater and my sister who's not even a Star Wars fan asked me if that's a robot.
Oh it gets better, it has CGI dead George Reeves and it released on the anniversary of the day he killed himself in part due to getting typecast as Superman
You remember that critic who opened their review with 'Flash is so good, it'll make you forget the lead actors numerous crimes?'
>What went wrong bros?
Did anything go right?
That wasn't a critic, that was the movie's production designer.
Oh, that's so much better!
Certainly makes it funnier.
>That wasn't a critic, that was the movie's production designer.
LAMO Warner is a joke
I don't think the general audience is aware Ezra's rampage or that online "boycotting" matters at all. The guy is just unlikable as an mc, I mean not even kids liked him, they usually give 5 stars to capeshit.
https://deadline.com/2023/06/box-office-the-flash-elemental-ezra-miller-1235418741/
>Early audience PostTrak exits from Comscore/Screen Engine for The Flash, which has a running time of 2 hours and 24 minutes, shows 4 stars for general audiences and a 60% recommend and 3½ for kids under 12 and 57% recommend. Remember, Thursday night always has better, skewed exits due to fans
So this it what happens when you have a boring mc in a bad movie. 1+1=2.
I can't believe they watched this shit and thought it was worth the marketing campaign and the money they gave Cruise to say its a good movie.
At least with Shazam they were smart enough to not give it too much publicity.
didn't all the "make younger/revive classic actors into the movie" nonsense backfire and deflate any hype?
Apologize
No because they’re both shit for different reasons. Man, Flash fans realky deserve better
Shoulda just given up on Ezra and the Snyder verse and done Keaton nostalgia/Batman Beyond with young, cheap, pretty actors to play Batgirl and Nightwing (and JK Simmons as Gordon)
Nah, screw this cheap nostalgia homosexualry. Either make a good new movie or frick off.
Simmons has Spiderman again.
>What went wrong bros?
DC thought they were Marvel. Hubris comes before the fall.
The investors won't be happy.
>What went wrong bros?
Snyder left.
did you think this autistic look tard fricker with a creepy face deserved to be a hero?
Flash has the material to rival Spidey. Talk about wasting material
For all the shit show about Flash, I gotta at least give them props for making Keaton Bats/ Supergirl's verse a pruned timeline. Normally, they'll at least try to come up with some bullshit to save the other worlds.
Box office would have been much better if they just recast the freak.
Basically it was a bad sign for anybody that there was more of a focus on nostalgia baiting with Batman, basically forcing zoomers to watch the older films before watching the flash and that alone makes them feel left out and they don't want to watch it. Now Batman and Rahbin is now canon
>forcing zoomers to watch the older films before watching the flash and that alone makes them feel left out
I don’t know anyone who fricking thought that and those who did are moronic. The only thing you’d lose from not watching the Burton movies is not getting a couple of references, it’s by far the least of the movie’s problems. You might as well say the film failed because it had babies in the beginning and that made childfree women feel bad about their biological clocks.
This somehow seems more moronic than the reverse joke.
I love his unstable little nod there at the start.
What in god's forseken world is this shit?
Flash needs to eat constantly or else he loses his speedforce, which is why the movie is filled with, just, absolutely disgusting scenes of Ezra stuffing his face.
The eating is like the least of the issue of the scene.
You asked why he was putting a baby in the microwave.
>which is why the movie is filled with, just, absolutely disgusting scenes of Ezra stuffing his face.
Did my mind just block those scenes out? Because I could swear it never comes up past this point, and have laughed about it with friends as just another example of how terrible the writing for this movie was.
Do you not remember the scene where Flash is running through the speedforce and he just...consumes an entire hotdog out of someone's hand like a snake?
I don't, and I guess I should be grateful for that.
Sunk cost.
Also they seem to be allergic to looking at why the animated shows and movies are well regarded, though perhaps not profitable.
DC has a self-sabotage problem. The panic and pivot at the sight of something wrong and make it invariably worse in the process.
This.
Batman v. Superman was the turning point.
If they used the director's cut for theaters, it would have passed $1 billion.
If they had stuck with Snyder's original plan, we would have had an amazing epic that fans would revisit every decade.
Instead, they panicked, hired Joss Whedon to work on a film that was a very different style than what came before it, and alienated everyone.
Then they brought Geoff Johns on to make lighter movies in the style closer to the comics, but fired him before the movies were even released.
From that point on, everything was a hot mess, and now DC has to really work hard at building up its brand again.
>Batman v. Superman was the turning point.
>If they used the director's cut for theaters, it would have passed $1 billion.
Snyder has not and will never make a billion dollar film. He's too far up his own ass as a director. Plot clarifications would not have sold BvS, they already made a Superman noone cared about, audiences shrugged when he "died". Snyder cannot build characters that audiences respond to.
Throwing in digital blood doesn't make it any better.
>If they used the director's cut for theaters, it would have passed $1 billion.
>If they had stuck with Snyder's original plan, we would have had an amazing epic that fans would revisit every decade.
Are snydergays really this delusional?
Yes, yes they are.
BVS was a bad movie in both versions.
>If they had stuck with Snyder's original plan, we would have had an amazing epic that fans would revisit every decade.
synder is a fricking idiot. he lucked out on 300 because of a great cast and a very, very simple plot. anything where he actually has to write, he's exposed
>What went wrong bros?
The DCEU. People don't want more movies set in it, everyone is waiting for the Gunnverse
And by "everyone" he means the small and dwindling group of DC fans.
>everyone is waiting for the Gunnverse
No one gives a shit about the gunnverse
This
I think James Gunn’s Suicide Squad was even worse than the 2016 one.
>"people didn't want to see a movie with a groomer in it but they'll watch a movie directed by a groomer for sure!"
Just like they saw his Suicide Squad, right?
>but muh pandemic!
Other movies released in the same period who were also released in combo for streaming made a lot more.
Face it, if they wented a win they should have tried to steal Feige from Marvel. Not Whedon, not Gunn and not whoever they are going to hire after they fail again.
>2008 was the last year DC had the top grossing cape movie
Eventually Sony will threaten their #2 status.
Think they only have Venom and the deal with Marvel for Spider-Man right?
I do believe that's enough. Miles will beat DC this year.
>they only have (the most popular superhero in the world)
You can't overstate how big that is, like Batman isn't relevant with most kids under 15 because of how badly DC squandered these last 10 years
>The last good Batman movie was 15 years ago
STOP THE COUNT
same poster, and I'd say aroudn Lego Batman was the one time my 8-11 year old cousins extensively cared about Batman. regardless if the last Batman movie was good, it just wasn't fun for them. WB/DC's been so fixated on mature Batman movies since 2004 it's fallen out of relevance with the youngest kids who hyper fixate on it and stay fixated as adults. Sure you get teenagers who want to be the Joker, but is that going to make the same lifelong Batman fans BTAS or the 90's movies did?
Otherwise, it's all Marvel and video games for them.
>eventually
Spider-verse did way better than any DC movie this year.
Being a DC fan is suffering.
Same with any remaining fans of LucasFilm properties.
this movie came out a year after Thor Love and Thunder, who thought it was a good idea to do the same thing?
Gunngays act like a movie that they know nothing about and that's not going to be released for another 2 years is something to look forward to....
The only thing that's sad is that we'll have to wait 2 years until the movie flops for them to shut up.
DCfriends have always been more comfy discussing future and potential movies than what's on their plate at the moment.
>for them to shut up
Where do you think we are?
>for them to shut up
Shilling never ends. Its the reason why they are trying to hype people up for Gunn, making him even more unsufferable in the process.
Hope never dies I guess. When Whedon was announced to direct JL some guys were excited thinking that movie would be a nice mix of fun and seriousness. I think Gunn can deliver an okay movie but dude is getting into the mess as Feige with phases 4-5 imo, that can frick up his plans sooner than later, WB on life support only adds more pressure.
They are never going to shut up anon, what the frick are you talking about? Both DC and Marvel movies were never going to keep fans happy, I still remember that when first Avengers movie came out there were many pointing out the Avengers animated version and saying "these are the real ones, the live action sucks".
look at it this way, historically DC has laid out big plans like this since the 90's and NONE of them have come to fruition. We were going to have a Batman Vs Superman movie by 2000 and a Teen Titans movie by 2009 and a cinematic universe by 2012.
If we get like halfway through Gunn's slate it'll be a miracle
>and a Teen Titans movie by 2009
Really, really happy they haven't thought to smash that particular glass in-case-of-fire box.
It was a hit, in my heart.
Do you guys think Discovercuck will sell DC if Superman flops? At some point they have to realize it's over, right?
I'm alright with that. Both Marvel and DC need a huge shake-up in terms of movies AND comics and if at least DC gets that then good.
One Batman movie makes a billion dollars.
THREE Batmans in a movie means THREE BILLION DOLLARS!
Simple math. NBD.
>Everyone was so hyped for Keaton.
As a tourist, when I saw Batman in the trailer it felt to me as if DC didn't have trust in The Flash being capable of reaching a broad audience.
they hired a homosexual freak who can't even run
he legitimately can not run. he doesn't know how to run. how the frick do you hire a moron who can't run to play the flash?
It's worse, that moronic run is by design. They really thought that's how we wanted to see him run.
not enough Superchica stepping on my balls and calling me a puto.
>be mouse drone
>say DC is not worth your time
>still micromanage every DCCU thread to maintain a narrative
What did they mean by this?
Are the mouse drones in the room with us?
Anon everyone knows the creative spark that made the MCU profitable up until Endgame is dead and the only supporting pillar keeping the whole thing standing right now is Spider-man.
I'm worried about you.
by the look of it DC is not worth the time of DC drones either.
It must be really hard for you.
Everyone hates DC anon...it's just a shittier Marvel.
You know it’s bad when your only excuse for your garbage movies is “B-but other company!”
Fun fact: They’re both garbage
>Everyone was so hyped for Keaton.
Half was the media artificially hyping him up. The other half was people losing interest the closer we got to the release date, as they learned more about the movie. It's very bad to build your entire marketing campaign around cameos, and so soon. They made people sick and tired of something that should have been a surprising treat.
Studios in general also need to get the message that people are tired of CGI clusterfrick movies. The Flash, Black Adam, Transformers, it's all just sound and fury on screen. Save that for kids films.
Mission Impossible is going to wreck all of these movies, and I don't like saying this because I'm not even a fan. But one has to appreciate that some filmmakers are reading the audience right, while others are tripling down on failure. It's textbook insanity.
But anon told me the distribution contracts made it so they needed to release it!
I said it when I said they should have Batgirl'd Flash, and I will say it again. Do it to Aquaman 2, say Ezra is off in the Batman and Robin universe, remove anything from Blue Beetle that refers to the DCEU, and give Gunn a fresh start.
>Everyone was so hyped for Keaton.
No
