It should’ve just been an actual Flash movie, plain and simple.
    >The “hero” causes all the problems in the movie and literally does more damage than any villain has
    >Nothing but I SAW THIS GUY AND I CLAPPED moments everywhere
    >Horrible main actor with no charisma

It should’ve been the Flash fighting his Rogues and being a good hero. He has decades worth of material and they base it on a giant turd story that only existed to reboot a crappy new continuity.

The Flash movie should have always been a Wally West story about living up to Barry. The Geoff Johns "Reverse Flash kills Barry's mom" is too comic booky a storyline to base the plot of a film on, and requires a timeline where it didn't happen to exist first.

      Would never happen but

      >Movie 1
      >Flash has been a hero for a year or two
      >One of his more elusive enemies who keeps getting away, Snart, steals Cold Gun tech and learns how to master its time-effecting abilities
      >Snart uses this to break into STAR Labs and make himself crew using criminal associates: Heatwave, Trickster, and Weather Wizard (whose brother works at STAR Labs and uses that to get them in)
      >They go to a tech expert named The Turtle (played by Danny Devito), who modifies their tech into full on weapons
      >Flash gets his ass kicked then tries to figure out how to stop them

      >Movie 2
      >More of a murder mystery type plot
      >One of the Rogues and a big time crime boss are murdered and it’s believed to be the Flash
      >Flash has to figure out who it is and why
      >Snart decides to help Flash, because one of his Rogues were killed
      >It leads to the Reverse Flash, who has been taking fake identities and watching Flash. Ultimately he wants to replace Barry, and plans to do it by being more effective than him.
      >Flash and the Rogues team up to take on Eobard, who is too much for anyone alone due to his psychotic nature and speed mastery

      >Movie 3
      >Flash is called to Gorilla City by Solovar to help against Gorilla Grodd, who plans to dominate the planet

The only thing you’d lose from not watching the Burton movies is not getting a couple of references, it’s by far the least of the movie’s problems. This.
Batman v. Superman was the turning point.
If they used the director's cut for theaters, it would have passed $1 billion.
If they had stuck with Snyder's original plan, we would have had an amazing epic that fans would revisit every decade.
Instead, they panicked, hired Joss Whedon to work on a film that was a very different style than what came before it, and alienated everyone.
Then they brought Geoff Johns on to make lighter movies in the style closer to the comics, but fired him before the movies were even released.
From that point on, everything was a hot mess, and now DC has to really work hard at building up its brand again.

Snyder has not and will never make a billion dollar film. He's too far up his own ass as a director. Plot clarifications would not have sold BvS, they already made a Superman noone cared about, audiences shrugged when he "died". Snyder cannot build characters that audiences respond to.

Eventually Sony will threaten their #2 status.

I do believe that's enough. Miles will beat DC this year.

        >they only have (the most popular superhero in the world)
You can't overstate how big that is, like Batman isn't relevant with most kids under 15 because of how badly DC squandered these last 10 years

same poster, and I'd say aroudn Lego Batman was the one time my 8-11 year old cousins extensively cared about Batman. regardless if the last Batman movie was good, it just wasn't fun for them. WB/DC's been so fixated on mature Batman movies since 2004 it's fallen out of relevance with the youngest kids who hyper fixate on it and stay fixated as adults. Sure you get teenagers who want to be the Joker, but is that going to make the same lifelong Batman fans BTAS or the 90's movies did?
Otherwise, it's all Marvel and video games for them.

Gunngays act like a movie that they know nothing about and that's not going to be released for another 2 years is something to look forward to....

The only thing that's sad is that we'll have to wait 2 years until the movie flops for them to shut up.

Shilling never ends. Its the reason why they are trying to hype people up for Gunn, making him even more unsufferable in the process.

Hope never dies I guess. When Whedon was announced to direct JL some guys were excited thinking that movie would be a nice mix of fun and seriousness. I think Gunn can deliver an okay movie but dude is getting into the mess as Feige with phases 4-5 imo, that can frick up his plans sooner than later, WB on life support only adds more pressure.

They are never going to shut up anon, what the frick are you talking about? Both DC and Marvel movies were never going to keep fans happy, I still remember that when first Avengers movie came out there were many pointing out the Avengers animated version and saying "these are the real ones, the live action sucks".

look at it this way, historically DC has laid out big plans like this since the 90's and NONE of them have come to fruition. We were going to have a Batman Vs Superman movie by 2000 and a Teen Titans movie by 2009 and a cinematic universe by 2012.
If we get like halfway through Gunn's slate it'll be a miracle

I'm alright with that. Both Marvel and DC need a huge shake-up in terms of movies AND comics and if at least DC gets that then good.

As a tourist, when I saw Batman in the trailer it felt to me as if DC didn't have trust in The Flash being capable of reaching a broad audience.

he legitimately can not run. he doesn't know how to run. how the frick do you hire a moron who can't run to play the flash?

It's worse, that moronic run is by design. They really thought that's how we wanted to see him run.

    >Everyone was so hyped for Keaton.
Half was the media artificially hyping him up. The other half was people losing interest the closer we got to the release date, as they learned more about the movie. It's very bad to build your entire marketing campaign around cameos, and so soon. They made people sick and tired of something that should have been a surprising treat.
Studios in general also need to get the message that people are tired of CGI clusterfrick movies. The Flash, Black Adam, Transformers, it's all just sound and fury on screen. Save that for kids films.
Mission Impossible is going to wreck all of these movies, and I don't like saying this because I'm not even a fan. But one has to appreciate that some filmmakers are reading the audience right, while others are tripling down on failure. It's textbook insanity.

But anon told me the distribution contracts made it so they needed to release it!
I said it when I said they should have Batgirl'd Flash, and I will say it again. Do it to Aquaman 2, say Ezra is off in the Batman and Robin universe, remove anything from Blue Beetle that refers to the DCEU, and give Gunn a fresh start.
