Clearly wasn't planned out and ran out of ideas, plus gave up on the park which was the most interesting element.
this sadly. season 1 was just great, so successful in fact that they couldn't have not continued it. but it's all downhill from there. I still liked season 2 for what it was although perhaps i was just westworld-pilled. season 3 wasn't awful but definitely felt empty and lacking direction by comparison.
It was kicking around Hollywood as a mini-series for years getting polished and then HBO ordered it to full series at the worst possible time imaginable - the start of #MeToo - which is why the first season is so spectacular and the second and third season are so completely different.
In retrospect, they should have retooled it as an anthology series exploring different parks and eras instead of a full series, but that's water under the bridge.
>It was kicking around Hollywood as a mini-series for years getting polished and then HBO ordered it to full series
If you rewatch Season 1 you can literally see the miniseries filmed first, and then Maeve and her filler revolution plot just tacked on there - she never interacts with any of the principal character besides Ford (Hopkins has a different haircut), and the scene with MiB killing her daughter is the worst in the entire season because of how obvious the stand in replacing Ed Harris is.
>season 4 >second soft reboot of the show
They went into it either intending to just make a one-season prestige show or foolhardily assuming they could stretch the concept of cowboy robots running amok it to multiple sessions without running out of ideas. And then obviously it didn't work out that way
>It's been six years >Still no fan edit of Season 1 removing Maeve and all the fillershit added in reshoots >Just Nolan's original 6-episode picth of William/Dolores/Ford
Imagine what could've been
>Still no fan edit of Season 1 removing Maeve and all the fillershit added in reshoots
Because they'd still do something moronic like leave out the William/Delos kino from S2 that should be a part of any respectable fan edit. But you'd never get anyone to agree on what should be included / excluded. I would like to get a look at any/all deleted scenes, though. I was thinking that S1 and bits of S2 are perfect for a fanedit trimming it back down to mini-series format if you could excise Maeve.
>But you'd never get anyone to agree on what should be included / excluded.
Everything in Season 1 that was added in reshoots to Nolan's original six episode pitch should be excluded. Maeve's plot is the worst offender in this regard because it's just a thematic repeat of everything that's happening in the Dolores plot, just with more idiotic characters.
Maeve was tolerable only on season 1 but you are 100% correct regardless of that. I was still on board for the most part for 2 but 3 completely destroyed any interest I had in the show that was left. A shame.
I don't know this for a fact but I suspect that the William/Delos shit belonged in S1 and was pushed to S2. Not only is it suspiciously too good for S2 but it resolves so much of S1 that I would be surprised if they never originally intended it.
It went completely insane,, complete lack of integrity in what they were initially trying to create so it became a big clusterfrick of identity politics and mass murder.

Definitely this, once they'd essentially reached the end of the Movie's premise they were fricked.
>Clearly wasn't planned out
>S1 has elements that only make sense after watching S2
you're moronic
Too much mysterybox shit. S1 was clearly a success, but they had no plan beyond that and it showed.

Season 2.
They left the park

black people, women, and black women
>westworld went to shit when Anthony Hopkins was killed off
>game of thrones went to shit when Charles Dance was killed off
Such a shame.

Probably, or at least it was developed by Nolan himself more in accordance with his original notes.
Just watched the trailers for season 3 and 4.
Is Aaron Paul playing a self-insert human who fricks robots?
They ran out of story, so substituted with angst.
Stopped watching after they had the homosexualry and dike shit in like the first or second episode. Was fricking trash.
is a word that start with the letter N 🙂
bros...
dis fricking gusting
Too boring. And not enough rape.

HOP ON
based and bootycycle-pilled. I'll switch Genres™ for this.
>missing out on one of the most kino episodes ever conceived in television
It's cringe tbh
Turning Anthony Hopkins into a robot simp at the end of S1 ruined it
boring as shit, had to push myself to even finish season 1
>DOLORES DOLORES DOLORES
