The bland character designs,the stiff animation and weird bad almost look like photo filtered backgrounds should've been a give away.
It annoys me some people like the LOOK of this show.
Yeah I've seen people say this show looks good even if they don't like the writing and I'm like are you blind? The backgrounds are some of the worst I've seen. It's like a shitty 2010's version of an bad 80's cartoon character design wise too.
4th wall breaking comedy, I honestly liked the idea of pete teaming up with NOT spider hero’s and it’s weird that it’s the last time we got it

And he's not wrong, whether you liked them or not the movies were doing great around that time, but they cancelled several wildly popular animated shows so they could shit out a low-effort animated synergy shitfest for Avengers and "Hey Lois, remember that time I was Spider-Man?"

It tried too hard to be Teen Titans in the first two seasons and the jokes didn't land.
At least Ultimate Spider-Man wrapped up it's loose ends and had actual character development.

Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble were built on the alter they sacrificed Spectacular Spider-Man and EMH for. I'm not sure what the directives for those shows were beyond brand synergy. But the formers were high watermarks.
This show should've been Batman: Brave and the Bold but for Marvel shit.
It still would've received shit because it would've appeared after Spectacular's cancellation, but it still could've been fondly remembered after the fact.
