What went wrong with Young Justice

The first season was cool and captured my imagination especially since batman brave and the bold had just finished second season wasn't as good but since I'm a blue beetle mark I liked. I was really sad when it was cancelled but really didn't care much and had moved on until I heard season 3 had been approved. I was older and I was still interested in the story arcs the show has set up was Wally really dead? Why is Darkseid working with Savage. I was also excited because Young justice had some solid writing with good dialogue so I pirated season 3 and the first thing I noticed was the downgraded art style and shit animations the show had done another time skip and we were introduced to a bunch of obscure characters no one gave a frick about and it's been 2 seasons since it was cancelled and they still haven't resolved Wally's death Gregg Weisman needs to be fired he has said the show will never end as long as WB keep funding it which proves he has gone psycho (as if beast boys dialogue in season 3 wasn't proof enough)

Trump won and the brainrot of many got inflamed. It was there beforehand.

More accurately, Trump wouldn't have won if the brainrot hadn't already been badly inflamed beforehand.

America was already pretty shit before that, all Trump did was be the catalyst to make it go beyond moron.

Kind of like any DC property. superman is 80, OP. Your parents won't make it that long. They'll leave you pretty soon, actually. And your great grand nieces/nephews (because you won't have children) won't remember them at all as they buy their Batman t-shirts before sitting down to watch Young Justice's 28th season.

tries too hard. They want the old crowd from CN but that crowd is here and we just steal the show from mega, the real views are from the lgbt yuppies, so you pander to them to have them champion the show on social media.

Anyone who thought the show was going to regress into season 1 was fooling themselves. It should've been obvious even in season 2.

It's a shame that it got canceled as Season 2 was actually getting it's feet on the ground, once the Reach stuff started being more prevalent there was actually stuff you could pay attention to without feeling like you were missing ten years of comics during the time-skip.

People liked the more adult drama aspects, so when the show got revived it just became all that. It’s a great way to cut down on budget because instead of action segments they can just animate lip flaps while everyone stands around.

Young Justice was never good and I'm sick of you idiots pretending otherwise. The first season was devoid of characters, it just used catchphrases and gimmicks to give them the barest semblances of a personality. (Whelmed, Souvenir, moronic rage scream, Hello Megan).
By the second episode it promised you that it was going to telegraph any arcs rather than let them occur naturally (Robin is DESTINED to be leader don't worry Robin fans) and thought the best way to establish a threat was to have a bunch of silhouettes hang around a room saying ALL ACCORDING TO KEIKAKU every episode.
If the cringeworthy Joker wasn't enough of a warning flag, I thought surely the inordinate amount of time spent on Miss Martian's mind rapey girl boner for Superboy would be, or the fact that Zatanna and Rocket just show up out of nowhere and we're expected to accept they're on the team at the end.
Then you absolute mental giants got SHOCKED that season 2 starts with a time skip and half those bread crumbs went nowhere and we were gonna do it all over again? How? Why?
You got what you fricking deserved and you're only mad NOW because a robot says it doesn't have a vegana.

And anon, what do you consider a good superhero show?

        Anonymous

Most of the DCAU is pretty good but that's in large part because it was built up over time.
X-men Evolution had potential if only because it didn't treat Cyclops like an afterthought.
The Batman got good in the last couple seasons although I disagree with some of the design choices.
Batman the Brave and the Bold is unmitigated kino.

        Adding to that anon's list:
        >Wolverine and the X-Men
The melodrama was plot relevant instead of an episodely distraction like most other superhero shows.
        >original Ben 10
Just a fun action cartoon where instances of self-reflection actually stuck around.

I feel like it went wrong because they let the people writing it take major cues from the comics.

As we all know, the animated series writers were always better than the ones working on the DC comics.

      Anonymous

What cues? This show is basically become OC at this point. A lot of these characters have developed entirely independent of their comic counterparts.

That's how most American shows work, anon. Weisman didn't come to them with a show pitch with a beginning, middle and end, he was hired to work on a show to last as long as its successful enough.

Besides, you're taking Weisman autism too literally. What he means is he can make a plotline for the teams great-great grandkids and still have years of stories.Weisman extensively worldbuilds.
