Fast forward a couple seasons and they're having boxing matches to the death with ordinary humans. There are two things that undeniably ruined Supernatural:
1. Power creep
2. Resurrections
does this show actually have any INTRO? I have always wondered.
In my country the show always starts with explaining their history but cutting together the first episode and then it cuts to the new episode. That always annoyed the frick out of me.
yes it actually does and this is why I fricking hate Disney Plus and all other streaming shit because they use the original English video so all the information gets lost like I see movies in the cinema and then I stream them years later and all the shit that was in the cinema version is gone plus yes my country does it's own intros for shows. HECK I hate watching Disney stuff or even The Simpsons on Disney because it is the American Simpsons intro and not the one that I grew up with.

But then again that's the same for demons and angels, no wonder the series lasted so long if they couldn't be bothered spending in the monster appearance deparment
Seasons 1-5 are a complete story and genuinely great TV, but around seasons 4 and 5 the cracks were showing and it needed to end. Seasons 6 and onward are all shades of bad but the gimmick episodes are fun enough to carry you through if you're okay not taking the show seriously overall. Only someone who really wants more Supernatural at any cost should bother watching past season 5.
