I'd say reddit is more Adams than Adams is reddit. The stereotypical redditor has always talked like he's trying to imitate a cross between Adams and XKCD.
Then again, he is one of those snarky enlightened atheists.
>lol so random
As someone that loves the books, that's a criticism that really doesn't work here. >Vogon poetry >Do you sass that hoopy Ford Perfect? There's a frood who knows where his towel is. >42 >The infinite improbability drive makes a whale and a plant, the whale has a lot of funny thoughts about falling before it dies, the plant just thinks "oh no, not again".
Lol so random is kind of par for the course.
>They didn't make it with the intention of a sequel
They teased the restaurant at the end of the universe (even though their stupid joke didn't make sense for what it actually is) and the books had sequels. No reason there couldn't have been a second movie, except that the first one wasn't very good.
Death of the author which extended production time without his input, ended up being a product of its time with the way Zaphod was portrayed (Bush impersonation).
it was unwatchable. reddit lol so random garbage with abysmal pacing.

Animation would be a fantastic choice because they could take the audio from the original radio dramas (the book came second) and use that as the base for it... in fact tons of people have already made fan animations using the audio (pic related).

This will obviously never happen, if they were going to do an animated adaption it would be from the ground up.
It would also suck ass since the vast majority of western tv writers (especially in animation) are far too neurotic and or narcissistic to pull off any kind of adaption without making massive changes to the source material.
I haven’t actually rewatched this in ages, but I remember feeling like it was going for a Hitchhiker’s Guide kinda vibe, and I figured a HGttG cartoon would look like it.
Mostly harmless.
You just know Cinemaphile would call it reddit. It would probably be alright

everyone is now trans and/or lesbian
and thats a good thing
heres a (You)
why did the movie never get a follow up?
I don’t think it did very well

They didn't make it with the intention of a sequel and it was only decent. Somehow Freeman and Def had solid chemistry. Zaphod was shit though.

The movie is genuinely better.
It was boring, undoing Earth's explosion was a particularly cowardly move
>undoing
what that did happened.
It happened in the book as well though
and it was way more unsatisfying than in the movie.
it literally killed the author.
Death of the author which extended production time without his input, ended up being a product of its time with the way Zaphod was portrayed (Bush impersonation).
That's on brand for 70's British comedy.
If I had my way, the whole thing would be animated yarn.

I prefer this version. it's has better blocking and shots, especially when Marvin croaks
Bit of a stretch to call this "animation"
I imagine like the Discworld animated TV movies from the 90s.
So would be pretty faithful to the book.
Kino
calarts for somereason
I would 'look' like shit, but it would still be worth the watch. tHGttG is just that entertaining.
It's going to be stop motion claymation because that's all the brits do with animation
Ricken Morty.
Brown.
Probably something like the mario movie but for scifi. Idk ask reddit.
As painfully unfunny as the movie and as dryly unreadable as the book.

Aardman could pull it off
