He should also make an epic historical drama to prove that he's better than Hack Riley.

Psychological horror is the only thing gives me a proper scare, when it’s well done, of course.

IT WOULD BE A CLASSIC MOVE TO GET 'ELLIOT' PAGE TO PLAY A GUY WHO TRANSITIONS INTO 'ELLEN' PAGE, AND BECOMES HAPPIER, BUT THEN SHE PUNCHES HERSELF IN THE FACE.

      Title: Echoes of the Abyss

      Synopsis:
In "Echoes of the Abyss," we delve into the mysterious world of a small, isolated town called Ashen Hollow, nestled deep within the dense forests of the Pacific Northwest. The town is shrouded in secrecy and harbors a dark history that has long been forgotten by the outside world.

The story follows a group of four strangers who find themselves inexplicably drawn to Ashen Hollow, each haunted by their own demons and seeking answers to their past. As they arrive in the town, they are greeted by eerie silence and an unsettling atmosphere that permeates the air.

Strange occurrences begin to unfold as the group delves deeper into the town's secrets. Time seems to bend and warp, with night and day blending together in a perpetual twilight. Reality itself becomes malleable, as the boundaries between dimensions blur and merge.

The group soon discovers that Ashen Hollow is not just a town but a nexus point between different realms, where echoes of past traumas and lost souls linger in the shadows. They must confront their deepest fears and confront the dark forces that have been unleashed upon the town.

As the mystery unravels, the true nature of Ashen Hollow is revealed, and the group must race against time to unravel the sinister plot that threatens to consume them all. But in a world where nothing is as it seems, who can they trust, and what sacrifices must be made to escape the horrors of the abyss?

With its mind-bending plot twists and atmospheric tension, "Echoes of the Abyss" is a chilling journey into the unknown, where the line between reality and nightmare is blurred, and the true terror lies within the depths of the human psyche.

Someone like Christopher Nolan wouldn't be able to make a horror movie to save his life, good horror relies on mystery and the unknown and this hack loves to infodump everything.

Jump scares only really “scare” you in that particular moment and it doesn’t linger in your mind afterwards, like psychological horror does. A good scary movie will prevent you from sleeping at night. Kids tend to be scared by anything tho.
The last modern horror movie that managed to actually scare me was Hereditary.

Great more horror deconstruction and arty bullshit, all I want is just some monster or ghost killing teenagers in a gory way, is that so much to ask

Despite his flaws Nolan is good at "eerie", stuff like in Tenet where the soldier is explaining if you go into the machine without seeing a double "that means you didn't ever get out" is dripping with eldritch Ito-esque horror implications and if Nolan can grow some balls and continue developing as he has been he could make a horror movie that is at least interesting and original. I feel like he keeps pulling back from his most schizo-autist shit to avoid alienating normies. Following is such an incredibly sneering, nihilistic, misanthropic first movie there's surely got to be some of that darker energy still to be tapped in him.
