What would Tonys family be up to right now?

What would Tony’s family be up to right now? How would they’ve coped with seeing their father getting his brains splattered over some onion rings?

AJ would be a basketcase and possibly have committed suicide.
Meadow would be a grandstanding defence attorney for scumbags.
Carm would have done a few spec houses then moved into flipping houses and real estate.

Pretty close to my headcanon only that AJ is a shitty producer coasting along on mob money/connections after the Paulie/the families extend their hand to him after whacking his dad and so now he's like a sad and depressing version of Hesh running his struggling producing gig out of a seedy nightclub that pays up to Paulie or whoever, all of Tony's sleazy dirtballness with none of the intelligence or drive, and Meadow starts out as some social justice-y public defender but after getting shitted on by Carmella and AJ for still living in Hoboken and driving a Civic one too many times she looks at her outstanding student loan balance and starts a private practice making big bucks defending the families and in looking past all of the obvious horrible shit that they do because she makes 7 figures and gets paid in cash she becomes the driven sociopath that she always hated about her dad for being.

nah, she was on track as becoming a scumbag mob defender even when Tony got whacked. probably marries some guy whos not in the mob but who has some connections to it.

      >tells Phil in yhe hospital he can’t have onions because it would cause complications from the shooting

      It was a suicide.

The FBI has Tony on tape admitting to whacking Phil. They would have seized all the Soprano’s assets and given Carmela a pittance to live on. She works full time at a call center. AJ lost his pity job with little Carmine due to a combination of fricking up and losing his only connections to the mob, and now works part-time at a gas station and lives at Carmela’s apartment. Meadow became a public defender and also lives a modest life but at least she’s independent.

      Not at all plausible.

You can't seize assets if there is no defendent. Tony being dead means no case.

I’m sure carmella was fine with her safety investment, the house and her spec house. McMansions were booming in value in 2007 and would surely only go up! To the moon!

TBF, the 2007 crash didn't have much repercussions in the tri-state area because demand was already so high. Housing prices here didn't fall, they just stopped rising for a few months.

Just compare it to the fall of Johnny Sack. While he was in prison, they bullied his brother in law and stole from him just because they could. And Johnny was a respected guy. Paulie would be the first guy to pounce on what's left of Tone's empire.

Not killing family members is pretty important to the mob, and rarely happened. You kill the man who is causing a problem, you don't touch the family, unless they are also involved in some sense knowingly. Its just bad business, they ain't Black folk.

Tony literally killed the step son of a canadian organized crime boss on pure speculation to save a few bucks on expired prescription medication to relabel and resell to seniors.

It's a viable method for very stubborn people. Some guys will be immune to death threats and torture but will cave if you point a gun at their best friend's head.

All the clues are in the first part of the season.

Carmella isn't looked after, Paulie and the rest of the guys freeze her out. There was an active FBI investigation as well, she probably lost the house. I can see Carmella turning on Paulie and feeding information to the FBI as a plea, she'd have enough to incriminate Paulie I reckon

AJ would likely try to get revenge against the guy that killed him, but without his dad to protect him he is either killed outright, or jailed and later killed. There's no happy ending for AJ.

Meadow is a bit more open to interpretation, I think she'd give in to depression personally. She shows that she thinks deeply on the impact of her actions, and she would have blocked a clean shot at Tony had she arrived on time, maybe even putting off the hit. I can see her spiralling in to alcoholism.

Paulie would likely be welcomed in New York. The Soprano family was down to a skeleton crew and he has shown he's happy to change allegiance if it works for him. He basically turned on Tony in S4 because Ralph and Vito were better earners and Tony respected that. Either that or Paulie is killed shortly after Tony because he witnessed the deal being made to kill Phil. Both are likely outcomes.

Sylv was likely on life support for a little while until his money run out. It's clear that the family without Tony there had no sense of duty, Sylv wouldn't have been looked after. Machines turned off a few months after Tony is killed.

New York likely ordered the hit on Tony in order to save face in the eyes of their family. If the details of the meeting got out there would be a lot of trouble, this was to tie up loose ends. They've shown they're willing to do things like this in the series since Carmine died, it's a less logical family with every acting boss. Johnny was less logical and forward thinking than Carmine and Phil less than Johnny.

Why would Carmella need to make a plea? She wasn't under suspicion, and at best they might make her an accessory to some crime that they would need to prove Tony did. She would have been fine in that sense. Tony's assets might have been seized, i agree, but Carmella never would have had to make a "plea".

Did you ignore the plot surrounding Adriana? The Feds are scum. They tried to get Adriana on trumped up charges and she only knew Chris for 5 years. Carm knee Tony since they were kids.

Maybe she would know where Tony was hiding and try to turn him in and get off that way.

I dunno but it's clear the Feds would make something up and get her to admit to knowing about Tony and his assets. She'd probably frick over Paulie

They all turn into Ray Romano, a mix between Somewhere in Queens, with mob flashbacks like in Bupkis.
Ever since Francesco Cali was killed by a QAnon incel, I got to say, the rep of the mob has gone down a few pegs. Add in those cartel flaying videos, and money come to you from the mail, and real estate going up, I think the all just go legit and live in the suburbs.
