Good one, Anon!
I have been deep sea fishing for about 9 years now. We go out of Orange Beach, AL and usually drop lines about 50 miles out. I have done many overnight trips, I have seen a lot of things out there.
I can tell you right now that if you were to get stranded floating in the water, 9/10 you will be eaten before sunrise. That statistic that these animal channel people tell you about “you are more likely to get struck by lightning than to get attacked by a shark” is complete and utter bullshit. It only applies to shoreline attacks and to swimmers. Sharks are incredibly inquisitive animals and they test things out by biting them, ultimately to see if they are edible or not. The second you hit the water there would be sharks around and under you checking you out, whether you knew it or not.
Also that kid that jumped off the cruise ship for tiktok views 100% got eaten within a few seconds of that video ending. Sharks follow cruiseliners because they flush their gray matter as soon as they hit 3 nautical miles off port, and sharks as well as other fish eat that.
>That statistic that these animal channel people tell you about “you are more likely to get struck by lightning than to get attacked by a shark” is complete and utter bullshit.
Its not bullshit, its just a misleading statistic, it doesn't take into account that most people don't spend a lot of time in sea. For anyone at sea where sharks are the risk of course go up A LOT
People should always be respectful of the wild, especially the seas, its vast and unforgiving
There's a great video of one of those "animal expert" shithead who professes sharks never mean to attack people going into clear water with a bunch of tiger sharks and getting bitten. He would have been killed too if the tv presenter he was trying to fool hadn't dragged him out of the water.
This. Animals are neither evil nor good, they're not our enemy or our friends, a shark will just think of us as another living thing, and sometimes living things are food for them. To say "sharks never mean to attack people" is nonsense to anyone with a brain. Of course they can consider it if they see us in the water.
Sharks do have foods they prefer, they know some mammals and fish are better food sources than others, but that doesn't mean they wont consider eating other stuff if they are hungry and see a chance to do so.
I blame the poor education on furgays trying to humanize everything and idiots acting like a dog ot cat gives a frick about anything but tone of voice
The video btw
it was a bull shark
There's barely a difference. They're both the shitbulls of the sea.
they are two different species who look nothing alike and bull sharks can even live in fresh water so you can be attacked in rivers not just the sea, there is a vast difference
To expand on this anon's
comment, the official shark attack statistics only count "unprovoked" attacks. So if you're swimming at a beach and get bit completely out of nowhere it counts. However, they don't count "provoked" attacks in the statistics. That includes:
>accidents, shipwrecks, plane crashes
>people with cuts or other injuries
>when fishing is involved
>someone accidentally bumping into a shark and getting bit
>jumping in the water too close to a shark
>inadvertently being in an area sharks are actively feeding
For example the oceanic whitetip is shown as having single digit attack counts despite the fact that those things swarm and eat stranded sailors like chicken nuggets, killed thousands during WWII alone, etc. Because they're deepwater predators and people don't usually go swimming in the open ocean for fun, most of their attacks aren't counted. The species that hang out in shallow water where humans swim look disproportionately worse than species like the white tip that any exposure you'll have to will almost certainly be categorized as "provoked" circumstances.
Thank you for clearing that up for me anon, I couldn’t really explain on the iToddler machine.
The ones I have seen the most were a grouping of round lights, kind of like what you would see in a stadium moving laterally and then straight up like they were floating. At first I thought maybe it was like a platoon of blackhawks or chinooks flying in a pattern (there is a military base not far from the gulf) but then after they hit a certain elevation they just kinda dimmed out and disappeared. Plus I never heard the typical *chunk chunk chunk* sounds you normally do with rotors. Its only happened about 4 times, most being early morning right before sunrise where you can still see the moon and then one being late at night about 11:30 pm or so
Like I said though, could just be coincidence, but I swear each time they get close-by there always is a big bait ball or some sort of frenzy that breaks out
Doesn't people stationed on Naval ships go swimming in the open ocean all the time?
>Also that kid that jumped off the cruise ship for tiktok views 100% got eaten within a few seconds of that video ending
That shit was horrifying. Impulse control is so important
>Also that kid that jumped off the cruise ship for tiktok views 100% got eaten within a few seconds of that video ending

Post the webm please
Some moron zoomer jumped off a cruise ship in the bahamas and they never found the body. Shark is in the left side of the frame

I got you, bro.
we live in the year 2023 everyone is a content creator and has a 4k phone and you are willing to risk your own life only for this shit?
wat
his job is to make content and he delivers such a shit quality?
oh jesus frick the pitch blackness and the thing breaches the water. I know the guy pulled a moron move but he was probably wasted and it just fricks with my head to imagine the regret and fear he must have felt swimming in the blackness, unable to come back aboard like he thought he'd be able to and then to have his worst fears just rear out of the water in front of him. that futile panicked swim away into darkness before it caught up with him must be one of the worst experiences a human can have, just total powerlessness knowing you are about to be eaten alive. I wonder how many passengers onboard witnessed his death and are keeping their silence out of respect
him being drunk makes me feel even less pitty for him
reading more about him appearently he was a moron jock who somehow had repeatedly given himself severe injuries somehow while playing baseball of all things so yeah maybe not the most sympathetic guy but still imagine the fear. it just sickens me to imagine myself or someone I care about in that situation so even a dumb drunk jock garners a little sympathy from me
It's sad for the family but imagine that one attention seeking class clown jackass from your school had gotten eaten by a shark under similar circumstances? You'd probably have a chuckle.
I have done many stupid things drunk, however none of them have been nearly as stupid as jumping off a boat onto a shark. There is a reason this one sticks out, it's so far beyond the norm of drunk teenage stupidity that it has become international spectacle. It's the kind of thing you'd expect from Idiocracy or an episode of Family Guy.
why? you've never done anything stupid drunk? would it be fair for you to be eaten alive as punishment for a split second moron drunken mistake?
>would it be fair for you to be eaten alive as punishment for a split second moron drunken mistake?
If that mistake was willingly jumping into the shark-infested ocean at night, yeah that would be fair.
>would it be fair for you to be eaten alive as punishment for a split second moron drunken mistake?
yes
shit you can see it breech the water at the 4 second mark
came to this post for info
left with a laugh
I'm so glad tiktok exists in a way, showing what prostitutes even little 12 year old girls are - and how stupid people are.
Lol this guy is a fricking drama queen, people are in the water with sharks all the time
t. Spearfisherman
Source on the tiktok?
can confirm
@5:58
it wasnt a cruise ship it was a fricking catamaran moron
then why didn't they just turn around and pick him up?
Cruise ships don't wait and don't stop for nearly anything.
Not the vid you're talking about, but still entertaining
>you spin me right round baby
Fricking terrifying, anon
In the audio to the video he is screaming for his father who is on the shore to come save him
and his dad just keeps filming? mad lad.
Gotta earn those likes
whet is wrong with brown people?
They are russians vacationing in egypt
sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. he learned a valuable lesson that day
>when you dad believes in tough love a little too much
frickin hell, m8
>Customer's a customer. Gotta serve 'em. You've gotta serve 'em.
KWAB
any context for this one?
Russian vacationing in Egypt attacked and eaten by a shark in under a minute while he cried out for his father who was watching from the beach.
In Sydney a few years ago a guy was filmed getting shredded by a shark. There was even a clip of the aftermath with his naked body floating face down with no arms or legs.
There was a gopro video someone threw a gopro with a string tied up on it over a cruise ship, first a bunch of regular fish show up then the longboi silver ones, then a shark. Just to check out what fell in. And that was in crystal clear bahama water with good visibility. Its gotta be worse when you cant see anything 2 feet infront of you.
Well it's a difficult situation. If you know no one is coming for you then you chug salt water as fast as you can and hope to die. Since you don't know, you're hoping that your boat realizes you're gone and is coming to rescure you.
One was injured by small sharks nibbling on her and died eventually from blood loss. The dude committed suicide by letting himself sink.
I wouldn’t do anything. I’d listen.
That's what nobody did.
I'M NOT A GOD
TO A SLAVE
THAT DOESN'T EXIST
Fricking die
Assert your dominance.
GIGASTACY
>treating a shark like it's a dog
Smart behavior
Idgaf how much of a professional anyone is, no one should be going up to an apex predator to touch it
>t.betax prey
I prefer it when people don't die brutal easly preventable deaths
Pure luck for that chick that the shark wasn't hungry or annoyed at her
If she is the same person I heard/read about, she is a scientist who theorises that the best defense is to approach the shark. Her argument is that the shark is 99% of the time curious and, despite us not thinking about it much or often because they are fricking sharks, an animal in the wild will prioritise its own safety and will be agressive only when it deems it absolutely necessary i.e. to feed or protect its offspring or itself if wounded and there is an opportunity to strike, and not beyond that.
>she is a scientist
No real scientist advocates for touching wild animals like a shark.
>no true scotsman
Who the frick do these people think they are? That woman should be jailed for putting her life as well as others at risk in the water with that thing.
She's a social media clout prostitute who makes actual science and study of these animals more difficult.
You're not supposed to make wild animals used to humans, if sharks learn that people exist and are easy to deal with they wont avoid us and might even begin to see us as easy prey. This is why any wild animal that kills and eats a human is usually put down as fast as possible.
She's another Grizzly Man waiting to happen.
She is also putting the sharks at risk, every time a shark attack happens people get more affraid of sharks and feel less sorry for them that several species of them are on the brink of extinction
poor frickers. the level of destruction occuring in the oceans is insane, everyday is like an apocalypse for the poor frickers all because of human greed
Have you ever heard of spearfishing? They kill sharks all the time and the excuse is as stupid as it can get.
You're so committed to being a homosexual that you want to jail people who aren't homosexuals?
She's a professional attention prostitute.
I was curious I didn't want to eat her plus sharks are friendly come for a swim
Impressive ladies, I must say.
Do it with a crocodile and I'd be impressed.
Wow, does eh.. she have a website that i can eh.. check? I'm like a big fan of her work now.
How can she stay underwater
Hahaha wouldn't it be weird if the gator's tail started rubbing her breasts haha that would be so gross right? Haha XD
Death to all horny posters.
You just know.
The knowledge is processed easily
sauce?
This is a legitimate tactic. Face the shark, like cats they chase and attack anything that runs away or is struggling.
Dont act like prey.
yeah, good luck with that. A very nice way for losing a hand or the entire arm
The information is easily accessed
you just know..
wypipo do dis but fear a lil spice in dey chicken
Is that Ocean Ramsay? Bit of an att prostitute but she is legit. Imense bull shark also.
White people are amazing
in all seriousness I think this movie gave me a fear or the deep ocean
>fear or the deep ocean
people always get down on me for this, but I don't even think it's a fear as much as it is instinct. If I said i had a fear of going into a forest fire no one says shit, but don't want to go to the middle of the ocean suddenly I'm a pussy
In all seriousness I went on a cruise in 2004 and this movie was playing on the TV system in the rooms. I still can't believe it.
Hire a better Photoshopper
is this also the movie where she randomly shows bush at the beginning
She's literally just a dumb b***h diver doing it for media clout, pretty much any real marine biologist is going to tell you that you're not supposed to touch sea animals because 1) it can stress them out, 2) wild animals are always unpredictable
Scientific theses get corrected ALL THE TIME
So you think its safe to go up to a tiger just because you've studied them in books? Frick off.
She just demonstrated its safe. I bet you hate Steve Irwin too, c**t
Scientists are known liars and don't know shit. Haven't you heard Miracles?
~~*Safe and effective*~~
I can't swim, so probably drown.
why dont they eat the small fish that follow them.
not worth it, also smol fish is beneficial
theyre like janitors, they clean them and in return offer protection
Never seen one, but generally they are not compared to other trophy fish. That was kind of the joke in the movie when Derrick says “uh yeah”
When are we going to get a dolphin horror movie? Sharks don't deserve such a bad rep
Well there is at least one Orca horror film
>Sharks don't deserve such a bad rep
they do and Im tired of pretending they dont. They are mindless feeders and are super fricking dangerous
They're not mindless more than most animals, and all animals eat to survive, and all predators kill other animals to surive. Sharks aren't more cruel than any other
tbf, orcas skin animals alive and play volleyball with them and b***hslap mantas for zero reason.
animals know they can be buttholes.
>super fricking dangerous
If you're enough of a moron to go where they live.
Eeek eeek eeeek eeek eek
shark steaks are yummy!
I have seen weird lights in the sky at night that move in odd patterns, and when it has occurred the fish go fricking nuts…you’ll hear feeding frenzies start out in the water that last a few seconds then disappear. Could be coincidence but either way its creepy as shit at night
One time I saw a dolphin chase a red snapper up to the side of the boat and carefully pluck it off our line. The eeriest thing I have seen was what looked like a little girl’s donut floatie floating out about 30-ish miles off the coast fully inflated with a shirt on it. We scanned the area for almost an hour but never saw anyone, I really hope someone just lost their stuff while they were swimming near the shoreline or something
Can you elaborate on the lights? Like dots, lightning style flashes, what do they resemble? Any patterns you observed like time of year, weather, etc?
pee pee in the ocean
i would mount the shark and ride it to the shore
Activate my Garmin inReach. Oh wait, you don't have one?
>What would you do in this situation?
Sorry. Wrong video. Here it is: https://youtu.be/x9cfnAxmYcc
absolutely insane
This shit is why I refuse to ever swim in murky water, I’ll stick with clear Caribbean water.
yeah I'm sure clear water helps you to grow eyes on the back of your head
FYI - even those crystal clear waters only have a maximum visibility of like 150 ft.
Cuddle the beast until it surrenders.
die slowly and horribly whilst wishing a slow and painful death to the people that abandoned me there
>bro let me just turn my back on the most aggressive breed of shark
if you go diving in the red sea and you don't surface back to back with your buddy you deserve it
Thats not the white tipped shark
it absolutely is, that video was taken at Elphinstone two years ago
Oh frick my bad
I see it now
god damn shitbulls
I love how it swims away without taking the leg. It's like a child that's been caught breaking something.
Did the leg get bitten off?
look at how incredibly agile and fast it is compared to the clumsy awkward primate that thought it had any business there
Shit that was fast! Why type of fricking shark is that?
I'm going to have nightmares tonight
The sharks are circling your bed. If your hand even dangles outside it will get bit off!
No problemo. I'll wear socks and cover my feet. I'm protected.
Until they capsize ur bed
Who thought it was a good idea to good spotting for sharks in an inflatable?
awwwwwwwwwww! It wanted to say hello!
holy frick
instantly shitting and pissing and vomiting
I still just want some wildlife experts react on that video where a seal jumps on a small boat to escape a gang of Orcas and the girl on the boat shits herself because everyone involved knows the boat is too small to protect her.
Drown I guess? I stay away from water as much as possible.
I'd just play the scene where she gets naked and then turn off the movie, fricking creepy ass sharks!
Has an orca ever killed a human?
yes, Seaworld is quite famous for it. Also watch Blackfish
while it has happened in the wild and orcas are big predators you should always be careful of, the seaworld stuff is clearly cause they've been driven mad by the small confines and abuse being done to them
go fishing and end up jousting with a shark
More comedic spearfishing shenanigans
really makes you wonder why they stopped calling them israelitefish.
not like most other animals, no, but touch plays some part of their communication and socialization, and they seem to seek it out occasionally in that context.
Make friends with the sharks. Learn their language. Breed with their women.
On land maybe. Just don't make the mistake of taking them out of the ocean like yanks did with blacks and it'll be fine.
>my parents put this on because their friends recommended it
>5 minutes in there's a gratuitous sex scene for no fricking reason
why
I want to watch a Orca VS Sharks movie.
who should direct it?
Cameron
great white vs orca
who would win?
Orca, bigger, smarter, stronger, faster
Orcas attack Shark's livers directly and tear it out to instantly kill them
>too many fricking npcs in this ocean
>gotta start messing with them
>one of the only fish to pass the mirror test
Rays are certified not npcs, orcas are just dicks.
I just want to say thank you to the anon(s) posting these cool shark webms, very interesting.
This is one of the first movies I remember being loved by critics but hated by audiences back in the day.
My parents fricking hated it but I never actually watched it all the way, should I give it another shot?
I'd shit my pants from fear and then the overwhelming shit smell would make me repulsive to the shark and send them away
Has anyone here ever done cage diving with sharks before?
I have cage diving with great whites on my bucket list but I feel like I’d pussy out.
I went on a 29ft boat with my dad, his Italian friend, and my brother. We crossed a channel while my dad and the Italian got wasted on homebrew wine. He decided to go back home across the ocean but the weather became extremely poor. They were so drunk so they wanted to just get home and pressed on. I remember looking around us in the 10ft waves and suddenly seeing no other vessels. My heart sank. I had to keep telling at the wop to go left or right so he'd hit the wave dead on, if it hit the side we would have overturned. I kept on running through my head what I'd do if we flipped. We'd be fricked. I'd try the phone in the ziplock and try to call for 911 if we had service. My brother was silent but he told me afterwards he was praying. I guess when it came down to it, I put my faith in my abilities while he became devout. I learnt what kind of man I was at sea that fateful day. That's the closest I came to dying.
But why using the word wop? Was he illegally in the us or you just wanted your story to fit Cinemaphile?
Easy gambino it's just a word ya dingo wop bastard
>dingo wop bastard
Dumb frick
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh ya fricking wog flip mother fricker don't tell the internet on me
The latter
>What would you do in this situation?
Live as long as I was able, and die when it was time to die.
>tfw every Hammerhead species is critically endangered now
How do we get Asians to stop eating shark fin soup?
Tell the Chinese restaurants run by Japanese in Japan that. They eat shark fin soups often.
Eat the shark.
Distract the shark with drugs.
What could go wrong?
Im glad social media is here for this now. I think people are starting understand how fricking insane and dangerous these frickers are. Ask any fisherman, these monsters are all around you past 100 ft out.
the whole "le coconuts are more dangerous than sharks!" is complete shit, these frickers past a certain depth will swarm you and shoot out like bullets from the depths. You will be eaten by some sea monster like that russian guy
>USS Indianapolis
>Some 900 American sailors were stranded in shark-infested waters, where an estimated 50 men a day were ripped apart by the sharks.
>1,195 men sailed, 316 survived.
Jerk the shark off so that the rest get other ideas
Right bunch of fricking pussies in this thread. It's a fricking shark, not a tyrannosaurus rex. Man the frick up and just punch it on the nose. One punch, that's all it takes
A hungry full grown Great white or tiger shark is the same if not worse than a t rex. You are completely helpless against them in their environment.
Where's Brock Lesnar when you need him?
I watched this movie as a kid and dont remember much about it. Only that they were left behind in le open water and thats it.
