Get rid of the gender and identity politics
Reduce the amount of townie episodes
Focus more on gems and their culture
Have a lesson that everyone can be redeemed but not everyone wants redemption
Have a background/overarching conflict. It doesn't have to be an epic or dangerous conflict, just something that has higher stakes and amounts to more than just crying and hugging things out.
Actually make it a kids show and not some dumb therapy session for mentally ill man/womanchildren.
After all, sharing our universes is what love is all about.
And trusting love is trusting yourself.
All goodness is born of the sharing of an idea.
Spiritualities are animes and cartoons.
Any idea is infinite multiverses.
Civilization/heaven is an ever growing infinite multiverses of spiritualities/loves.
Actually address morbid topics instead of beating around the buss or dropping them. Lapis was the greatest tortured soul in the show, and it feels a little bit cheap that they resolved her storyline in a few eps.
Don't have talks as your way to solve problems/forgive the bad person
If we're being real, Cartoon Network didn't care about SU or Sugar. While Sugar and her team have some flaws in their writing, CN did nothing to help them. It's actually shocking to find out how SU ended and Future began. >Sugar and her team are working and are almost at the end point and assume things are going alright >CN comes in out of nowhere and breaks the news to Sugar bluntly with a little to no real time to wrap up the show >Sugar's down and her team is, so they said frick it and made the movie >Movie unironically does great and revives the fandom with what people loved about SU in the first place >CN realizing this tells Sugar, "hey uh.... continue SU or something" >Sugar confused as frick says oh okay and does Future
gets a bit hazy (some things I forgot) >CN comes again and Future has a dead line (take this one with a grain of salt though)
It's actually quiet sad to read her account of how things went and tries to act nonchalant about it.
You give Sugar far too much credit. She treated her job like a playpen and had no control over her team and would constantly blow their budget hiring random celebrities she wanted to meet such as Nicki Minaj and whoever the frick even voiced Opal. Her team was so out of control they would routinely try brute forcing their headcanons into the show without consulting Rebecca because they knew she'd hate it which is why characters like Yellow Diamond and Lapis rapidly swap between personalities. To make matters worse she was so deep into this deluded "i'm the cool chill boss" act that she'd just let everyone draw the story boards in mspaint with the pencil tool which just made everything look like shit (this is why they change sizes and shapes every other frame). On top of all this she kept injecting gay shit into her show that had no substance and served no purpose and just existed to spit on the networks face as though the network wasn't being forced to censor LGBT themes in shithole countries. Frick Rebecca Sugar, she was the most incompetent boss in cartoon history and she deserved to get fired and blacklisted. She makes the RWBY writers look well put together.
While I'm not disagreeing, I even referenced,

Oh yeah forgot, the reason why CN did this in the first place and to explain
and her team are working and are almost at the end point and assume things are going alright
That more, is that Sugar and her team were riding a high after their ballsy gay wedding episode. While it may not seem much today, when it aired, it was actually a big risk and people adored, though Sugar and her team knew the risks and did it anyways.
Though it seems like CN tried to be at arm's length, either gathering the success as well or coming into to say no. So really in a way Sugar fricked over her show over two lesbian rocks kissing each other.
. This doesn't changed the fact that Sugar did actually care about her show and everything that came with it, or that CN was acting correctly. Now you're free to speculate how much she care or how much involvement CN had and whether it was a reaction or an initial thing. >Frick Rebecca Sugar, she was the most incompetent boss in cartoon history and she deserved to get fired and blacklisted.
That's a bit much, it just sounds like you have a personal gripe with her. Plus I'm sure there's bigger dumb bosses like whoever took over Nick or CN and is actively killing their platform. >She makes the RWBY writers look well put together.
Hard disagree here. Say what you want about SU and Sugar but at least her show was a ran by who unironically were just fanboys writing unironic fanfic of shows they loved watching. One thing is for certain, both SU and RWBY were shows with great potential to really make an impact but either became memes or disgraces.
The only showrunner I can think of that comes close to her moronic tunnel vision and refusal to not bend is that moron that was convinced Catdog was going to be the next spongebob and forced out 4 seasons when nobody (including the staff) even liked it.
I don't even want to know what 4 seasons of Catdog would be like with such a bare bones premise of a cat and a dog stuck together. If this is true then nostalgia must be one hell of a drug for this to be wrapped in with the best of what Nick had to offer back in the day

I would've saif "frick the Ruby and Sapphire wedding" and actually got a proper season 6 instead of the rushed mess that was the other half of season 5. If we're really gonna redeem the Diamonds, we're gonna put some actual effort and development in it.
Also, Future would've never happened.
“Steven always needs to be present for things” was an arbitrary storytelling limitation which made the show worse. There were so many scenes, sometimes even entire episodes, where he just didn’t need to be there, like the episode where Pearl was trying to hook up with a human. It should have just been Amethyst and Pearl hanging out, but it couldn’t because “OMFG if Steven isn’t there then it can’t happen”.
The worst part about that shit is that it made me hate Steven. He’s a good and likeable character, but after a while you just get tired of seeing him.
Probably not used fusion as a euphemism for sex for the explicit purpose of encouraging young children to have sex.
I would have had a much bigger discussion and plot centered on how we treat tools. Gems are essentially programmed bots set with a task. Over the millennia they start to develop quirks and errors and personality. Eventually some of them rebel, which is a nigh unthinkable act. But once the populous starts thinking it, it's really hard to put the cat back in the bag.
BUT. The gems themselves treat tools as just... tools. Perl's projection just gets a rug thrown over it. Shattered games are animals not worthy of person-hood. That one mirror with lapis is just a tool. That room Steven went into was sure as shit conscious and had pretty extensive knowledge of the book they were interested in. The gems themselves treat the less sapient beings like shit as the hypocrites they are. None of that will stop the revolution brewing on Gemworld planet or whatever the frick, because when you VERY FRICKING INFRASTRUCTURE decides to stop being a slave to the system, everything falls apart.
The diamonds aren't entirely wrong about brutally weeding out the defectives, as their empire WILL crumble and lose one of the many border disputes it's current waging. To them, they're just replacing a broken processor and fixing a wayward process. Even if yellow diamond has developed a personality, she still wants to brutally put down the revolt and restore order so the empire can survive.

The Autobots didn’t treat their holograms as people I know that
It wasn't a euphemism for sex, it was more so about strong relationships / feelings. I get how it can be seen as sex but Ruby / Sapphire show how it's more about their connection to one another + Steven fused with his dad.
Keep this art style and animation. I don't care if it takes years to make an episode, we would get 2010s western OPUs, not an LGBT fueled political movement that later SU and Future has become
>Bismuth starts a revolution on Homeworld and all of the gem colonies >Steven, Blue Diamond, Yellow Diamond, and White Diamond are all shattered by large breaking points on live gem television >The universe is temporarily saved until Bismuth is eventually corrupted by power >Pearl shatters herself after watching Steven's gem get shattered and his body evaporating into a pink mist >A slo mo version of Cookie Cat plays solemnly in the credits >post-credits scene is Peridot exploring the Earth on Amethyst, who has shapeshifted into a boat >The cluster hand rises from beneath the ocean, they redirect the seafaring gems to Australia
Get rid of the gender and identity politics

Have a lesson that everyone can be redeemed but not everyone wants redemption
The townie episodes are my favourite episodes though.
The more love and lovers the merrier.
And the more identities the merrier.
You did good Steven.
Going fourth lets enjoy more love of your love and less angst.
The only god is love.
All is love loving love and figuring it out together.
Have a background/overarching conflict. It doesn't have to be an epic or dangerous conflict, just something that has higher stakes and amounts to more than just crying and hugging things out.
Trade in a few town episodes for a little more homeworld/ diamond development.
Actually make it a kids show and not some dumb therapy session for mentally ill man/womanchildren.
The only god is love and all is consciousness/The Quantum Realm
Get real. Don’t punish yourself/your own soul/love.
You are love.
I wonder which character you are in Steven Universe.
Frick off back to /LULZ/
You heard my words as clear as the light that shines when you wake up tomorrow.
After all, sharing our universes is what love is all about.
And trusting love is trusting yourself.
All goodness is born of the sharing of an idea.

Yes
This show has alot of hiatuses
Everyone always forgets how long the hiatuses were and how awful the timing of them was.

Age down Priyanka a bit, so not menopausal, make her single, and have Steven end up with her when things don't work out with Connie

Your mother.
>we will never get Broly fricking up the crystal gems
they could redeem it, with steven universe future and close some plot holes but what did they do,just some trauma bullshit

Agreed, being the main character just means he is in most episodes, but we can follow other people around when needed.
Find out who came up with the idea of Steven Bombs, beat his ass in the parking lot, put the ass beating on WorldStar
I would've banned it from Cinemaphile entirely

This. But Sugar and her staffs are hacks
REMOVE STEVEN AND REPLACE HIM WITH A NORMAL NO SO CRYBABY BOY.
Make Pearl say frick
Make Steven into fat girls
