If I remember it right, his wife chases after the random kid after he runs away and ends up with them both cornered in a room, at which point the husband just nopes the frick out.
In that sequence he didn't do anything wrong. He did everything he could have reasonably done to try and save everyone. >has a hideout with the only real rule being not to make too much noise or look out the windows >dumb teenage girl opens a window seconds after being informed there's a hundred zombies outside >still fights a delaying action with a crowbar until everyone can get away safely >finds out that nobody used any of this time to actually get away and they're all still fricking around in the next room >with a mob of zombies right behind them the wife slaps at him and shoves him away to chase a moronic kid who is ignoring them >wife corners herself and demands he run back inside the house, fight his way through a thousand monsters, go back up to the second floor, and help her because instead of opening the window or barricading the door or doing literally anything else she's just screaming at him
And the movie tries to portray him as being in the wrong
The Walking Dead is the worst in this sense. They acknowledge in the show that zombies will eventually starve, rot away and die. So how come there are still massive hordes of zombies far outnumbering the living population over a decade later? There are not enough living humans left to sustain a zombie population of that size.

Then after he escapes they show his two kids getting a tour of the safezone where they mention most infected have been killed or starved but still please don't enter the city just in case

Besides the WWZ Book is there any zombie media that tackles the aftermath? Besides the intro with Don the part that interested me in the film really was the reintegration of Britain, even if it was a bit moronic.
