It was like a 6.5-7 out of 10 but that makes it the best film to be shown in theaters in the last 5 years. Not sure if it would be as good watching it at home though
>thing (king of monsters) :/
>thing japan (minus one) :0
king of monsters was shit
Minus one being nominated blows your b***h ass out the water
Nominated for what? The gay awards?
nominated for more than anything your troony godzilla will be
>suddenly awards shows matter
The movie sucked you weeb, just like king of the monsters. Thats the whole point
>The movie sucked you
the only thing that sucked was your mother giving me a blowie while I watched the greatness that was Minus One
Sucking off the academy awards while calling something else troony is so moronic that this must be bait
>End of WW2
>Murrican occupation
>Not a single rapist GI in sight.
final wars is better
destroyah is better
GMK is better
Mediocre CGIslop. It's only revered because everything out of Hollywood is worse.
Minus One, easily. By a wide margin.
The original is also good, but too dated to show to anyone who doesn't already love Godzilla.
I miss the suitmation, but in every other conceivable way, Minus One fulfilled expectations
and surpassed them.
The original is better if you prefer movies pre-2010. Not everyone does nowadays.
minus color was phenomenal
>I'll turn 70 next year
Sweet jesus frick Ponce de León went the wrong direction
Anyone able to translate the letter Shikishima got from his parents? Tried plugging it into google translate but didn’t work
Godzilla vs. Destroyah was purely indistinguishable cinematic brilliance. A poignant, heartfelt masterpiece that leaves nothing on the table with a legendary, awe-inspiring score as Akira Ifukube's greatest and ultimate score has the audience reinvigorated during the title sequence and in tears once the credits roll.
5/5 10/10 100% certified Kino:The absolute unfiltered language of cinema itself and a must watch and rewatch for every man, women and child.
Eh, I thought it was alright
It's garbage but it's better than Gamera 3 at least
>we want the cthulu audience
The CGI was terrible and the main actor was pretty poor but otherwise a solid film. It isn't high art but not everything need be
Incredible
Godzilla (1954) obviously. Every Godzilla film afterwards is trying to capture the success of this one, it's the ultimate 50s monster movie.
I think the meme of "MO isn't a masterpiece, modern movies are just shit" is partially true. It plays everything very straightforward but executes in action and emotion when it needs to, which 99% of hollywood slop doesn't even bother with. You can at least tell it exudes some individual's creative vision.
Minus One isn't just a masterpiece compared with modern movies, it's a masterpiece compared to seven decades of Godzilla movies. It's a masterpiece by kaiju and monster movie standards, by dinosaur movie standards, by disaster movie standards.
seen it twice. cam and better version. the cam made me trip more i think because the audio was trippy minimalist intense notably the plane scene, thin sounding minimalist almost subliminal assault cranking up and up
Watched '54 Zilla for the 2nd time last night, after watching Minus One. While '54 asks some solid questions about our species casually playing with WMDs, especially for an early blockbuster, and the city destruction is honestly impressive to watch even today, Minus One is a far more cohesive total package.
It does have the advantage of 70 years of cinema behind it, but the narrative in '54 feels scattered at times despite how straightforward it is. There's barely even a named character to focus on for the first 15 mins or so, which does give this feeling of the whole nation scrambling together after a surprise attack, but makes it difficult to really empathize as most of whom are talking are nameless and interchangeable.
Minus One is the complete opposite of this, the feeling of community and the country forced to face this existential threat is present, but the individuals actually feel like they matter. It was a great idea to make the group that 'thwarts' Zilla a brigade of private citizens who understand their responsibility is to each other. '54 shares segments of this message, but seems far more focused on the theme of 'has science gone too far?', which makes sense for the time. But Minus One will remain timeless imo
