neo-liberals israelites don't believe in anything greater than themselves
they don't believe in god
they don't believe in their country
they don't believe in their own society
taxes are good for society, take your head off your own asses
>taxes are good for society
I'm sure the tax collectors in Jesus's time said the same thing to justify their extortion. If only St. Matthew had weighed in on the subject during his lifetime.
He knew He was going to die, and how, for basically His whole life
He even warned His disciples multiple times that He was going to die, and they wouldn't believe it
Jesus wouldn't forego His sacrifice, as He truly knew it was God's plan and that it would be such a great good for His disciples
You are godless too (for we all are), you just believe otherwise

basically no one converts as an adult (unless under threat of violence), you're either given a religion as a child or you never have one. Best case scenario is you stop being a Christian as a teen and then come back to it later as an adult. No one adult starts thinking "Hmmm well I could be a Hindu, Buddhist, a Muslim or even.. a israelite!" like they're carefully weighing the best pick.

My past doesn't matter, what matters is that I have God with me now and that Jesus is saving my soul. God doesn't care what your past is. God can and will forgive all your past sins.

your past is the whole point, so if you won't share it, your anecdote is worthless
of people who never identified as Christian becoming Christian as an adult? It's virtually non-existent.

And what if I did? Would that convince you to convert and become a Christian? If not, then don't waste my time.

So, St. Matthew's past as a tax collector is the whole point? St. Paul's past persecuting and killing Christians is the whole point? Mary Magdalene's? These people are generated as saints and remembered the world over not because they had a sinful past, but because they had great encounters with Christ by which they were converted and made holy men.

Seriously, how the frick do you come to this conclusion? That's like reading the passage where Jesus saves the woman caught in adultery from being stoned to death and thinking that the fact that she committed adultery is the whole point, and not Jesus being merciful and telling her "go and sin no more".

I am sure that Jesus would have lived a long life if he had a good lawyer.
He knew He was going to die, and how, for basically His whole life
He even warned His disciples multiple times that He was going to die, and they wouldn't believe it
