They don’t and they won’t. It’s the greatest show ever made or that ever will be made for the audiovisual kinographic medium and they know that. It physically and metaphysically cannot be re-adapted in any way.

Don't. It was fine the way it was and a good microcosm of the era. Just like the Sopranos. We don't need to reboot or sequel everything.

do a sequel mini series with Hurley and Walt on the island, another group of survivors crash there and Hurley and Walt don't understand why / see it as a sign of some upcoming calamaty causing them to eventually leave the island to find help among some of the old cast members

Good and right until finding old cast members. Ben can still be their man but anyone else, awful.

Why/how the frick would they bring it back? It finished. Its over. Unless you want a prequel about huey and jack and ben and locke or something, which would be gay as frick

I fricking hate this reboot cashcow culture. Name me a single fricking reboot/remake/prequel/sequel made years later.

It's always nothing but a case of "we can't come up with anything good so let's buy the rights to some old shit with an existing fanbase so we can milk their basedboy consoomers for cash with talentless writers that don't give a shit about the source material". Bonus points when they inject some current year political agenda into it that once again doesn't have anything to do with the actual thing. Nuke Hollywood now

They're not dead, moron. Everything on the island happened but at different points in time playing at the same time.

The island was magic. Don't question it any further, it was just magic. Two men marooned there centuries ago got magic powers and became demi gods. The plane crash survivors were called back to the island by the good demi god to punch the evil demi god to death so he couldn't leave the island. Jack punched the bad guy to death but then died himself. Everyone else left the island eventually except Hurley who became the new good demi god.

Now here's the troll part, everyone who had spent time on the island, after they died they all met up in heaven. This was arguably nothing to to with the island, we can assume that everyone who dies goes to heaven, except these guys all met up with each other in the afterlife and acted out weird fantasies loosely based on their time on the island, because it was a shared memory that was important to them.

The "flash sideways" visions of the different island characters doing mundane stuff were not visions of an alternative timeline created when Jack set us up the bomb. They were glimpses into the collective afterlives of the island visitors.

After awhile they all figured out it was the afterlife and went through a magic door to the next level of the afterlife.

That is unironically the plot of LOST. tl;Dr

It's all an extended metaphor for a Christian apologetics thesis. At least I thought so until I looked up Lindelof's early life

It’s not constrained to Christianity, that’s all. It’s more rooted in Orpheo-Pythaogreanism and Hermeticism, which was the template for Abrahamic religions, and closely mirrored Buddhism, Shintoism, and Daoism.

you literally just have to watch the show, christian literally explains it to jack in the church. everything was real, everything happened. the bond they formed on the island is what made them wait for each other in purgatory before they all moved on to the afterlife together.

      they were dead all along

the weird thing about lost is by the end, its world becomes as broken as game of thrones
    >no more hatches to explore
    >others are either entirely gone or their system of beliefs and culture were completely pointless
    >mystical adversaries thwarted once and for all, never to return
there's no effective path for a sequel except my headcanon which i will only share with abc
