They don’t host anything. It’s all hosted on different filehosts, they just embed links to them. And there are tens of thousands of people uploading shit to file hosts to share with others. And some people make these websites with links to them embedded because they make money off of ads and maybe donations.
sorry about asking questions like a child, but what is then the bottom line of these filehosts that bear the grunt of hosting and streaming costs? I guess maybe ads and donations as well but i never see links or references to them
The filehosts are typically specialized services for pirated content, you'll rarely see videos hosted on gdrive for example. They pay out to the uploaders, mcloud pays $30 per 10,000 views for example.

maybe but to me the difference between torrents and a site like fmovies is like having a "pick-a-book, leave-a-book" box in front of your house and setting a bookstore in a mall.
Uploading a file to a file host is the same as uploading a torrent and adding it to one of these clones which adds it to all the others is just like adding your torrent to an index. It’s all the same shit.
at this point my curiosity is satisfied, i'm guessing all the front end stuff of adding new movies to their front page is somehow automated but it did seem like a lot of daily maintenance work to a noob like me.

basically the softer branches (like prostitution, gambling and money laundring) of organized crime usually start and host those sites. Hence why they usually blow at the same time that big busts happen. Im sure they are able to refinance it with the amount ads they force but there are definetly other reasons too. With the amount of work put into those sites like for example vintage movies there has to be some passion for film involved though i have the say, that i think the projects are simply too big for the usual ideologically motivated suspects to be behind it.
Basically there are 'paid' versions of these sites with very small subscriber populations and invite only from members to join. The small advantage is that these sites never go down and have no ads, but mostly these are just taking advantage of lazy millenials. They cost little to run as well because filehosts take on the bulk of data costs. The filehosts make shitloads of money through people who subscribe to them in order upload hosted repositories of niche, fetish, and sometimes illegal pornography. The people who make that porn make money by locking their uploads as zip or rar files with a password requiring members to pay fees for those passwords. The child sex traffickers who enable this porn are paid by the CIA because controlling the flow of these people allows them to accrue political blackmail on government officials and other important figures both in and outside of the USA. And the CIA being a government institution is of course funded by US taxpayers.

Fmovies is just the front, like the retailer that sells the products even if they don't produce them. All the files are hosted elswhere. There's hundreds of these sites. Fmovies is just one of the better frontends.
