Because she was brought in late in production, her character wasn't part of the script and Bond going to Santiago de Cuba was a solo venture. Craig enjoyed working with de Armas on Knives out so recommended her to the director, so they wrote a quick bittpart for her but couldn't rewrite the entire movie for her.

He’s been around for longer, his DNA goes back to pulp-era characters like The Shadow which is what’s always made him more interesting and legitimate than most other superheroes, he’s produced some of the best comics to come out of the American market, he’s been a cultural fixture in other media for decades, he’s been adapted into the best representations of comics on film, in animation and in videogames. If you want to take this even further, Conroy has been THE definitive Batman in most people’s minds for over 30 years - for the Bond comparison to hold they’d have to be killing off Sean Connery instead of Daniel Craig.

I still disagree. The Arkham games were an evolution of the Batman Animated Series and by extension all the related animations helmed by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. They even had Dini write Asylum and City and brought back as much of the voice cast from the animated series as they could. It was always a continuation or reframing of that narrative for a grown-up audience. So for the millions of people who grew up with BTAS, Justice League, Superman, Batman Beyond, etc this is the end of the road for that version of the character. Murdered like a hobo on a park bench by a bipolar prostitute declaring “it’s our time now”.
