I remember going into a huge VHS/DVD store in Los Angeles with my dad when I was like 10, and I asked him if I could have that South Park movie, knowing full well that he didn't like me watching it. He asked me if I even knew what "Bigger, Longer, and Uncut" meant and I had not a single clue. After that, he didn't let me watch South Park until I was 17.

What happened?
Episode starts with a court scene where all the boys involved in the streaming service have to defend themselves because the streaming stuff caused a major drought in South Park and a man was killed and Token's missing father is suspected. By the way this is the only time Kyle appears in the episode so don't expect more from him.
Cartman finds Token searching for clues of his missing dad around his hotdog house and convinces himself that Token is fricking his mom. He goes to Butters (who's grounded for streaming service stuff) and teams up with him so they can find clues. They find papers about how PiPi is the one causing the drought because he has a monopoly over streaming services now and he's making all crypto sell-out celebrities to advertise his "PiPi+" service with pee (pretty funny gags how they try not vomit when they drink, eat and bathe in pee in these ads). Token understands what's going on based on this evidence and he teams up with Cartman and Butters so he can find his dad.
Randy has became a mega Karen and he's like a bum who has no idea what's going on (like a drunk who's been on drunken rampage), detective Yates explains to him what happened. Randy feels remorse over what he has became and has a talk with Stan how he used to be a scientist and then it became all about weed. He changes back to "old Randy" from the very first episodes and goes back to his old job and starts investigating how to turn sea water into pure water so it can be consumed by humans, but PiPi sabotages his work.
Token's dad wakes up under the water park, he was saved by a baby manbearpig and its mom. Cartman, Token and Butters go to the waterpark and there's this exact scene Cinemaphilemfy predicted where Cartman is wearing a bikini and tells everyone to not stare at his boobs. By the way he constantly tells Butters "my eyes up here Butters, stop staring at my breasts" and Butters gets all bashful.
The three boys get trapped by PiPi and they also meet the baby manbearpig, turns out manbearpig's family is kept there by PiPi so that's why he has to work for him (the directly call the adult MBP climate change here though).
Since PiPi fricked all Randy's plans he gives up, Token's dad as found his way out of the water park and goes to Randy and tries to convince him that they have to work out together so they can stop the drought and save the boys. But Randy tells him that no they shouldn't because they're the ones who always frick things up, you can take this as a message about how adults have ruined South Park and the boys should be the ones to save the day if you want to. You almost get hopeful that he tells Stan that he's the one who needs to go there to save his friends, but instead you get Stan telling Randy that there's only one who can save the day and it's... Karen! Only Karen can get inside the water park because he can pass the security. Now, this is where the episode becomes shit...
Randy has thrown out all of his weed so he says he can't become Karen anymore, but Sharon admits she saved some of Tegridy and gives it to Randy. He smokes the weed and becomes Tegridy Randy (or Karen) again and goes to the water park, this is the scene you saw in the trailer so I won't get into details about that. So he goes in and there's this unnecessarily long scene where Karen has a fight with PiPi and everyone films it on the internet, it has all the outdated Karen memes included so it becomes cringeworthy to watch.
Anyway none of this matters because the boys were helped by baby manbearpig and its mom who also come to the surface, so now manbearpig kills PiPi by ripping off his head. Randy stares at Cartman's boobs and starts touching them and realizes that the key to filter pure water is silicone.
So in the final scene Cartman gets his boobs suctioned and there are all these women with silicone breasts who also donate their boobs and the town can get pure water again. Manbearpig and his family go back to the forest, and Token's mom asks that if the baby pig is going to become a climate change when it grows up then shouldn't they kill it. Stan says that instead they should try to make a connection with it so they can understand what it wants and how they can work with it, but Randy says that all of that sounds too difficult and now that there's pure water again they should just chill at the water park and smoke weed. Episode ends here.
The episode is pretty decent except for the Karen shit, and if you're a fan of any of the boys that is not Cartman, Token or Butters then tough luck because none of them matter in this.

It's just indicative of the current state of the show. The Stan inside Trey has see them fallen so far he just wants to break down into tears. He's lost his best friend to a black b***h, his wife refuses to sleep with him on account of the israeli wiener lust, and fricking Eric Stough just isn't the same. All he has is his daughter and even then he has nothing really to show her from his life work. Being the child of a celebrity must suck ass, especially a show writer like this. It'd be easier to find a reason NOT to cry.

I think he resents south park for reminding him of all his failures (not being as close with Matt, all his failed relationships and other heartbreak that is constantly referenced in the show so I'd imagine it's hard to rewatch, being constantly told that your writing isn't as good as it used to be when he already thought his writing was shit back when he was making episodes like the Warcraft one), but it's also his legacy and identity so he can't stop. Who is he without south park? Without Matt? Nobody.

But that was just one episode of the season, his dad was also kinda prominent in the St Patrick's day episode because he is now the rival weed farmer to Randy. But Tolkien wasn't really relevant in that episode.
Then you have the streaming specials, which while aren't about race are about the weed farms, and since the Blacks are now also another weed family as well as the black person family, they also will be relevant in weed related episodes from now on.
So basically, they went from being only used to represent Black and Rich people, to being used to represent Black people and Weed farmers. And maybe rich people, they don't live in a big fancy house any more so that part isn't as prominent.

I am not euro but nor am I American, and I also don't care about the race issues. But because of that I don't mind the episodes, since they aren't offensive to me and are just like any other episode about specifically American things.
I'd rather, regardless of the topic, have good jokes in the episode. But for a while now Trey seems to be having to stretch out fewer jokes over a longer period of time. And I love running gags but the episodes need more than that. Maybe after all these years he is just running out of fresh material.

Agreed. But I think it can go even deeper. Something we all worked out really early in the comfy threads is that everyone has their own opinions on which episodes/seasons are good and which are bad, and while there are usually patterns to it (like older/mid seasons generally favoured over the current ones) you could still find wildly different opinions, like people who say everything after season 4 is shit and people who swear that seasons 8-10 where they best episodes of the show's run.
So when a new special comes out, not only do we have to work out what exactly are we comparing it to, we also have to consider everyone's personal tastes which obviously is difficult since we are all (mostly) anonymous.
This is probably why we have so many arguments when these new episodes and specials drop, some people argue that it's shit because they are comparing it to early seasons while other people think it is good/just alright because they are comparing it to the current show.
i wonder if you could compile some kinda statistic on which seasons/episodes/styles of writing are preferred by who? based on things like age, gender, favorite media genres, culture and location... maybe im the only autist whos interested in something like that

It's not bad episode, in fact the writing ties everything together very nicely and overall it was very clever way to talk about the water issue in Colorado and the streaming service deal at the same time. The celebrity gags might have felt repetitive since it's such a long episode but this is what old South Park would have done with these crypto sell-out Hollywood stars as well, so I found it funny too.
The biggest problem is that there are certain gags that drag on too long, but that has been the case with this show like for over 10 years now.

They clearly just can't think up enough jokes, so have to stretch out the ones they have. And honestly I don't blame them, writing comedy is really hard and they've already done so many plots and comedic storylines throughout 25 years that they probably struggle to come up with fresh jokes and ideas.

There no "CATG" anymore and hasn't been for years, there's Tweek and Craig who always hang out only together because that's what all couples do, then there's Jimmy who's friends with everyone, there's Tolkien who used to be involved with Cartman the most and now is Stan's best friend and then there's Clyde who has been shown to hang out more with Butters and Cartman than any of "CATG".

Very meh. I was gonna make a new live thread for it at midnight but it just didn’t feel like it deserved it and I also fell asleep and just finished rewatching it. I love that we see that Trey doesn’t lack awareness at least. Maybe we’ll at least get the weed only in small doses now? But probably not.
The only problem with this show is not enough jokes and too much repetition. We didn’t need to see all the celebrities eat the urine stuff while saying whatever whatever favors the brave. My favorite part was Butters line about how he’s seen his uncle’s dick maybe because it was classic SP instead of the watered down less offensive SP we’ve been getting since the new season.
But Trey has shown like 4 times that he ”doesn’t lack awareness” this was the same ”Tegridy almost ends” plot he has been using all the time. I feel like I missed out on seeing that resolution at all.
Hopefully Kyle will still be pissed the next time we see him, even if the boobs are no more.
I pretty much had the same exact points about the episode that I liked. I didn't mind Kyle not making more than 1 appearance since he's not exactly my favorite, but I did feel bad that Kylegays pretty much got shafted.
It just felt like we had to see Kyle's thoughts on it all specifically because it was Kyle in part one that felt bad for Cartman and ended up including him. It was a bit of a waste, but I'll give it time.

Just a question to all of you SP fans out there; why is the show considered edgy and offensive by most people I've talked to despite the 2 main characters, Stan and Kyle (the ones we're supposed to ROOT for) are 2 of the most inoffensive milquetoast characters I've ever seen? One is a self-righteous sermonizing israelite and the other seems to be there to provide a deadpan reaction to the stuff that happens on the show. The actually edgy character is Cartman, but the show seems to make it a priority to have Kyle point out why he is bad instead of leaving it up to the audience to know that he's an unsympathetic comedy protagonist. At least the early seasons had anti-morals, so I'd consider THEM to be edgy. But people seem to think episodes from season 7 onwards are offensive too and I just don't see why.

Kyle quickly became a mouthpiece and was FORCED to be largely inoffensive and agreeable, but Stan has always be the everyman because he was the show’s connection to the soul of an average American. The edge came from the fact they tackled sociopolitical issues that nobody dared to question much, or cared about. However nowadays not only is the connection to the average American gone, but tackling these tackles has become a part of an everyday American’s entire social life.
Half of South Park's public reputation comes from the fact it had lots swearing and juvenile humor and the other half comes from the season 2 episode "Gnomes" where the message is that big corporations are good because all of them started small and free market will fix everything, this has been backpedaled many times later and this newest special was another one where they did that but the influence of that episode was so big it was even used in books for economy education so this show will never get rid of the fact it's edgy gen X Libertarian show.

Just a question but why is it that Cartman doesn't get his ass kicked by the other kids more often? In American Dad, Roger gets the crap beaten out of him at the end of almost every episode. In Ed, Edd n Eddy, the Eds often get beaten up for trying to scam the other kids. So why is it that Cartman, apart from a few episodes, is usually allowed to get away with the stuff he does scot-free (Like in this special, the other boys were pissed off at him but that's it).
