You're wrong. Commercials are everywhere. There on buses, on billboards, in taxis. I recently saw an elementary school with ads on their fence. You can't escape commercials.
passive commercials are easy to ignore though. Theres a difference between glancing at a coke advert in the background on some building vs having to spend 30 seconds of your life watching a coke advert on tv with images and sound.
